"Next candidate, Lincoln Mave, stand inside the ritual."

Father Darren continues to call upon another candidate to come toward the ritual to begin the awakening ritual. 

After being awakened, Michael returned to the other lines while waiting for others to awaken their roles. He stood there blankly, still trying to process what had just happened. He remembered he had lost his vision, and his conscience was inside some kind of dark place. Then, he saw a gold-coloured flame suddenly appear in the dark place and just walked toward it out of curiosity. And before he could even react, the flame already was on him.

He doesn't know how long it takes to be inside the dark place, but when he gains his vision, he sees these brass knuckle gloves infront of him. After that, Father Darren told him he had been awakened as 'The Knight', then told him to go to the waiting line.

Everything happened so fast, and so many outrageous things happened at once. It was too much for Michael to process at the moment. Thus, Michael decided not to care about what had happened to him in the dark place for the moment. He then looked at the gloves he had received when he returned to that place. 

Based on what Kaiden told me earlier, the role of 'The Knight' will gain a destined weapon that is suitable for the user. And the old man just said I had awakened the role called 'The Knight'. Does that mean these gloves were my weapon?

'The Knight' was the most common role within the community. Five roles have been discovered so far, and 'The Knight' is the most common and basic. But that doesn't mean it was the weakest role. Ultimately, whether the role is stronger or weaker depends on the user. What makes 'The Knight' unique from others is that it grants its user a weapon. Every user has different kinds of weapons, such as a sword or an axe; it all depends on which one is suitable for the user. In Michael's case, his weapon is brass knuckle gloves.

What should I do with this pair of gloves? That old man mentioned something about killing evil entities. Does that mean I need to kill those things with just a pair of gloves?

"Next candidate!"

Father Darren continues to call out another candidate for the awakening ritual. Michael looks at the last candidate who has been awakened. That candidate also awakened the role of 'The Knight', and he also received a suitable weapon. It was a look of medieval theme sword.

He then looks at other candidates who have also been awakened. Most of the candidates so far have awakened the role of 'The Knight'; all of their weapons are cold weapons, and they can do actual heavy damage compared to Michael.

Why am I the only one who received this kind of weapon? All the others either got a sword or, worse, a small knife. But mine is just a glove with brass knuckles on it. It has nothing to do with being a Knight. Did God expect me to become a thug instead?

Michael finds it funny that if others saw him wearing these gloves, they would first think of him as a thug wearing a priest uniform rather than an actual priest.

What kind of world that I had been transmigrated to….

"Next candidate, Ross Tanner, stands inside the ritual."

Another had gone into the ritual to begin his awakening. The procedure is still the same, but the awakening outcome is different from the other candidates, including Michae, who had awakened the role of 'The Knight'.

Ross also went through the same scenario as Michael, but what made it different was that he didn't get any weapons like the others.

Suddenly, the ritual circle started to glow, and particles began to form together. The particles formed into what seemed to be an alphabet, but Michael didn't recognise any of those alphabets. It didn't seem to be any modern language alphabets; it seemed more like an old centuries-old word that would be used.

"Congratulations, Ross Tanner! You had awakened the role of 'The Scholar'."

When Father Darren congrats Ross and announces his role, the whole room is full of chattering. Everyone is talking about the role that Ross awakened.

Michael doesn't understand the big deal of this role since he wasn't the person in this world in the first place. Thus, he decides to eavesdrop on others' conversations.

"The Scholar, I heard that a pretty rare role."

"That's not it. It was a pretty strong role too."

"I heard whoever awakened The Scholar was able to cast divine spells like those in the book."

"It indeed a strong role but it is also very difficult to fully utilise it. From what I known when they want cast a spell they need always process the incantation in their brain."

"Wait, does that mean their brain will always filled with incantations information all day."

"Yeah seems like it."

Michael was able to eavesdrop on a couple of important information regarding the role of 'The Scholar'. Michael also found that his hearing had been enhanced after the awakening. Even though the distance between him and the other candidates wasn't that far, it was still out of range for a regular hearing distance.

It seemed like all of my body functions had been enhanced after that awakening. I did feel stronger when the flame burned me.

"Congratulations on your awakening, Ross Tanner. We will assign you a mentor to familiarise you with your role. As for now, you may get into the line and have a rest."

Father Darren showed Ross his way to the line. Ross catches a breather after the awakening and continues his way to the line. Ross feels a big load of information dumped into him just now, and he is still trying to process it.

When he gets back in line, he keeps on breathing heavily. The awakening consumed a lot of Ross's energy more than others.

Hmmm…I know I shouldn't thought of this if I wanted to act as Michael, but I'm so glad I didn't awakened 'The Scholar' role. He seems to be having a hard time after the awakening.

After a couple of hours of everyone going through the ritual, it finally came to an end.

"Last candidate, Kaiden Smith, stands inside the ritual."

Oh, finally, this activity is coming to an end. I thought I was gonna bored to death. Kaiden is at the end of the list. I wonder what kind of roles he will awaken.

Kaiden took his steps and walked into the ritual. Father Darren saw him inside, and before he started the ritual, he said a few words to Kaiden.

"Kaiden Smith, you're always the troublemaker for me and always try to avoid classes with your cheeky excuses. But today you will starting to take responsibilities for your action. Are you ready?"

"I'm ready." said Kaiden, with his confident looks to Father Darren.

Father Darren smirked a little when heard that.

"Seem like you indeed had grown up a little."

Then, he proceeded with his awakening ritual.

He kept chanting the ritual's incantation, and it started to glow light like the last few awakenings. But weirdly, on Kaiden's turn, his vision didn't go dark like others. And there aren't any weird alphabets like Ross's when he is awakening. Then the light started to glow even brighter, it almost could light up the whole hall room. 

Seeing this, all of the others started to freak out because they had never seen or heard of this situation before. While Father Darren is standing, look at the light with a surprised face.

"Could this possibly be….!"

While others are still shocked by this incident, Michael notices the looks on Father Darren's face.

This old man must know what is going on, but why is he getting surprised? He wasn't this surprised when that guy awakened 'The Scholar' role.

Kaiden was also clueless about what was going on. Suddenly, his eyes started to glow with a golden light. The light was shooting out from his eyes. Kaiden freaked out when this happened, but he could still see, and the layout of the scene was a bit different from what it was just now. It was just like the people had teleported a little to a place without moving. And he heard Father Darren speak.

"Oracle….."

As he heard that, suddenly, the light in his eyes stopped, and everything went back to normal. Now, the scene in the hall is exactly what he saw when he shot light from his eyes. He still freaks out from all of that.

"What the holiness….."

Seeing Kaiden seems to be going through something, Father Darren goes up to him and comforts him.

"Are you okay, can you still go on with the ritual."

Kaiden breathed in and breathed out to calm himself down.

"I'm okay now, Father."

"Alright then I will now announce the role you had awakened."

"Congratulations, Kaiden Smith! You have awakened the role of 'The Oracle'! From today onwards, you will be given important tasks that will lead our Lord's words! Let us give him a applause!"

When Father Darren says the role's name, everyone in the room goes wild. The chattering between candidates becomes very loud. Well, that, of course, except Michael, who is still clueless about what just happened.

What the hell? Oh wait, should I say what the holiness? WHAT THE HOLINESS CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!
