Toc.. Toc.. Toc..

There's a knocking sound coming from Michael's room door. Someone is knocking on the door.

"Are awake Michael? Father Darren wants me to ensure you had woke up. He wants me to remind you that today is the day for the ritual, it's very important for you to attend." said a young man's voice.

Michael, who was sleeping, had just now been awake from the knock.

"Yeah, I am now. I'll be there when I'm done cleaning up."

"Okay, then I'll be on my way now. See you there."

The young man continues on his way to prepare for the ritual.

Michael gets up from bed and stares blankly at the wall.

"Huh… Turns out I've been transmigrated into another body was true after all."

He slowly walks away from his bed and heads into the shower. In the shower, he drift into his thought.

Sh*t, now that I remember, I didn't know my way in this place.

He had just transmigrated last night, and he didn't have any memories of when he possessed this body. 

He felt perplexed by his current situation. He wanted to avoid suspicion and catch everyone's attention, especially the murderer.

Suddenly, something came into his thought.

Wait….how did the actual Michael get killed in the first place? When I regained consciousness, I didn't have any blood on me either. So, how did the murderer kill him? Is he poisoned?

He couldn't come up with any conclusion on how the actual Michael died. Something has been bothering him from the start; he has been transmigrated into this body.

He can't express the weird feeling he has. But he is sure there is something odd with this place.

Or possible in this world….

Then he got out of the shower and changed into his priest uniform.

"Hmmm, it felt weird wearing this outfit when I'm not even a religious person." He muttered.

After changing into the uniform, he opened the door. When he opened it, a man stood in front of him and shocked him for a second.

"Oh did I scare you? Hahaha, my bad dude." said the young man in front of Michael's door.

This young man has a blonde-coloured, messy layered bob with a waves haircut. He has a very cheeky, cheerful smile on his face. With the look on his face, it doesn't seem like he appeared in front of his door by coincidence. He must have waited for Michael to open the door.

That scared me, but that is not the point right now. Who is this guy? Is he Michael's friend? Or worse, is he the murderer who came to check the body?

Michael quickly examines the young man's reaction. If he's the murderer, he would be surprised to see him still walking. 

But the young man doesn't have any surprised reaction on his face. Neither when the moment he opens the door, he also doesn't seem surprised to see him still able to walk.

Michael decides to bet on him being an ally.

"Are you here to lead me to the Ritual?"

When Michael said that, he started to get nervous. He was shivering and ready to throw a punch if he showed any threat to him.

They silently stared at each other for a second. And the young man speaks up.

"Lead you? Hahaha, you're so serious and formal as always."

"But I think you could say that I was planning to ask you to go to the Ritual together."

"I see and who you are again?"

"What? Did you fall off your bed? I'm your friend, Kaiden."

Kaiden….. I remembered the diary mentioning that Michael had a best friend, Kaiden. This must be the guy. The diary also said Kaiden was the only one he could trust when he was being targeted. I guess my bet was correct.

"Oh, it's you Kaiden. Sorry, I felt a bit dizzy today so I didn't recognize you at the start." Michael tried to bluff him off.

Kaiden looks at him for a few seconds. He felt a bit off with Michael's statement, but since Michael is his best friend, he doesn't care much.

"If that is the case are you still able to attend the Ritual? Since this Ritual is the most important day of our life."

The most important day? I remembered the diary mentioning Michael having been training and working hard from the start of his life for the Ritual. Isn't it just a special day for prayer? Michael himself never wrote anything about the Ritual or what it is about.

'The Ritual' had been mentioned constantly, and he transmigrated into this body. At first, he thought it was just a special day for the priests to celebrate. But the more he learned about it, the more he felt this ritual wasn't just a regular ritual as he had thought.

"I'm okay now. Let's head there immediately."

Then, both Michael and Kaiden went on their way to the Ritual location. Michael felt relieved that Kaiden was here to lead him to the place since he didn't have his way at all.

While they are on their way, Michael decides to ask for information regarding the Ritual.

"So what did we actually do at this Ritual?"

Kaiden looked at him with confusion, "Are you really okay? Why did you ask me such a question? Don't you should know it better than me?"

If it's the old Michael, then Yeahhhh

"Just humor me."

Kaiden stared at Michael briefly and decided to brief him while they were on their way.

"Fine, on this Ritual we are supposed to awaken our inner ability that decides our fate in our roles as a chaplain."

"Inner ability?"

"Yeah, but I think you could say it is a superpower similar to those in the movies."

What the f*ck!? Did I not only transmigrate into another body but also another parallel world? Does that mean everyone in this world has some superpower? Well, that did sound cool.

Michael finds it outrageous that superpowers exist in this world. But he is also very interested because, in the old world, Michael always dreamed of having superpowers and punishing those who did terrible things.

Kaiden continued, adding that the Ritual is only prepared for young priests since the old priests either awakened or didn't have the capability. What kind of inner ability they will awaken depends on their capability. This is also why Michael and the other young priests will train so hard to handle the awakened power.

Kaiden mentioned that the most commonly awakened role is 'The Knight'. Their abilities are related to enhancing the user's physical strength, and they will obtain a suitable weapon for the user. There are also other types of roles to be awakened, but Kaiden told Michael he would know when he awakened one. Not only that, when someone awakens, each role still differentiates into different tiers to determine user strength. So far, they only found out tier 1 until tier 3 awakeners.

After gathering information regarding the Ritual, they finally arrived at the place. It was a church hall, and a ritual circle was drawn in the middle. In the centre seems to be standing the old priest who will help awaken their roles. Other young priests stood near the wall while forming a line. When they arrived, the others gathered their attention on them.

Michael immediately examines other priests' reactions when he arrives at the scene.

The murderer must be here and hiding within them…..
