Chapter 1385: Big Grandmai is here
Yu Dong left the Big River Village while Grandma Yu and Aunt Wang were responsible for supervising the guests in the greenhouse who came to pick strawberries.
"Please calm down. Everyone will get a chance to enter the greenhouse," Aunt Wang was responsible for watching the slaughterhouse but today she came down the mountains to keep an eye on things as Yu Dong was not in the village.
She thought that all she needed was to keep an eye on the customers and make sure that there was no stampede but who would have expected that there would be a line as big as these? The line was so big that it reached the entrance of the Big River Village. Even Old Madam Yu was stunned, she thought that the crowd yesterday was big enough but now she realized that it was her who was too narrow-minded.
How could it be big enough?
With the delicious taste of the strawberries that her granddaughter grew, this line was also small!
"Everyone stay in the line, you will soon get your tokens," Old Madam Yu said to the people in the crowd. She was about to say something more but suddenly a guard who was guarding the entrance of the door came running.
She looked at Old Madam Yu and walked over before sliding next to her. The guard said, "Old Madam Yu, do you have an elder sister? A woman claiming to be your sister is standing outside and is asking to be allowed inside the village should I do it?"
When Old Madam Yu heard the words of the guard, her eyes widened. She couldn't believe her ears. After so many years and such treacherous acts, that woman still had the face to come and see her?
On the other side at the entrance of the Big River Village, a family of fifteen members stood in front of the large gates. In the lead was an elderly woman who was eyeing the gates with greed and jealousy in her eyes.
Who would have thought that her younger sister after losing the family properties in her head would live such a prosperous life and she, Yu Sa was not happy with the turn of events but she was glad that she had found out about Hongmei's fortune so soon. Maybe if she tried hard, she would be able to push her younger sister's hands.
"Mother, is this really the place?" Yu Yao asked with her eyes peering inside the village that was lush with greenery and there were so many wells that Yu Yao was certain that as long as they got inside this place, they wouldn't have to worry about anything.
"It is," Yu Sa nodded. Her second niece relayed in the letter written to her that Yu Dong, that good for nothing had suddenly struck gold and Yu Hongmei, that was to say, Old Madam Yu was now living a life while dipping in a pot of honey and sugar.
The letter was alone enough to make Yu Sa angry and jealous. Why was it that her granddaughters and daughters were all useless while Old Madam Yu's granddaughter became the master of the village and even started to earn millions of silver taels in a month? Millions! Heavens! If that girl handed her even one-third of that fortune, she and her family could live a wonderful life.
"Then why are we waiting here?" Yu Qinian asked. She was the eldest granddaughter of Yu Sa and the most pampered, she was also the cause of the reason why the First Branch of the previous generation had nowhere to go.
"If I were you, I would be a tad bit more polite," said Yu Rongsa with a frown on her face. As the second granddaughter, she was much more sensible and could not help but scold her eldest sister, "Because of your gambling addiction we ended up losing everything. Be quiet and make sure to keep that arrogance of yours to the bare minimum in front of Second grandma and cousin Dong.
I heard from the villagers, that Yu Dong can chop people's necks if they piss her off."
Yu Binghuan's eyes lit up. She looked at Yu Qinian and stated, "Then you need to be very careful, Elder sister. If this is true then Cousin Dong is not someone you can mess with. Who knows she might…" Yu Binghuan dragged her thumb across her neck while casting a sly look at Yu Qinian.
Yu Qinian's expression turned sombre while her face flushed red. She glared at her two sisters and turned to look in front. She knew that the reason why these two were making such a big fuss was because the gambling debt that she piled up was too big and Yu Sa had to sell even Yu Binghuan and Yu Rongsa's share as well.
These two sisters of hers were yet to get over that.
"You all shut up!" Yu Sa turned and glared at her three granddaughters. "Do you want to announce to the world that we are here to freeload? Then wait and watch how we will be turned away in a second!" Yu Sa whispered yelled at her granddaughters while looking at her daughters. "Why don't you silence them?"
They came here under the pretext of getting inside before spending a few days at the Yu house. Once they were settled, there was no way they would leave the Yu house. It wasn't as if Yu Dong or Old Madam Yu could push them out.
What could the two daughters do? It wasn't as if they did not ask their daughters to stay quiet but they did not listen to them, what were they supposed to do?
However, after being scolded the two daughters turned around and glared at their daughters who turned silent.
