Chapter 649: The Plan
Morning.
Dawn was just breaking.
Inside the bedroom, Seimei opened his eyes.
Turning his head toward the window, he knew without activating his Byakugan that someone was watching.
He had already discovered two squads sent by Danzo during his training the previous night.
However, he didn't act recklessly.
This was, after all, the territory of the Uchiha Clan, and Seimei didn't want to stir up unnecessary trouble.
It wasn't that he feared implicating the Uchiha or was intimidated by Danzo or his Root ninjas. He simply didn't want to complicate matters.
His goal had always been straightforward: kill Danzo and plunder the treasures hidden within Root's archives.
As for other issues, such as the clan's tensions with the village or conflicts with Danzo, he had no interest in involving himself.
Therefore, not only would he refrain from acting here, but he would also do his best to draw his enemies away from this place.
With this in mind, Seimei quickly got out of bed. After completing his morning routine, he grabbed his ninja gear and headed out.
Walking along the street, he could vaguely sense the presence of several Root ninjas.
Without stopping, he found a breakfast stall, ordered some food, and ate his fill before heading toward the village gate.
Amid the morning mist, Seimei soon arrived at Konoha's entrance.
The two gate guards noticed him. While curious about why he was leaving so early, they didn't bother to ask any questions.
After all, the village didn't forbid its ninjas from leaving.
In such cases, it was better to avoid unnecessary trouble.
Once he left the village, Seimei didn't go far before activating "Wind Release: Wings of Wind" and "Chakra Cloak" to take to the skies.
Hovering in mid-air, he glanced back at the path he had taken. His gaze swept over a few large trees, and he sneered disdainfully.
Then, with a flap of his wings, he streaked across the sky, disappearing into the distance.
Below.
Between the trees, eight Root ninjas emerged silently.
They watched Seimei's retreating figure. Although they wanted to give chase, they lacked the means to do so. In the end, they could only watch helplessly as he vanished from sight.
"What do we do now?"
One of the ninjas broke the silence.
The two squad leaders exchanged glances before one of them replied, "Let's head back for now."
The others voiced no objections.
After all, staying here served no purpose.
It was better to return immediately, report the situation, and let their superiors decide the next course of action.
With that, the two squads of Root ninjas, led by their captains, began their journey back to the village.
Not long after they left, Seimei suddenly reappeared.
There were no signs of spatial fluctuations or attempts to mask his presence. Seimei simply materialized out of thin air.
Clearly, he had used the power of "Heavenly Transfer" again.
With his Byakugan, Seimei observed the departing Root ninjas. He remained silent, lingering briefly before flying off once more.
Indeed, he could have attacked earlier, and there was at least an 80% chance he could have taken them all down without leaving any traces.
But his target was Danzo, not a handful of lackeys.
Rather than waste time here, it was better to plan the next steps.
Although Seimei was confident in his abilities and doubted Danzo could pose any real threat to him, even a lion uses its full strength to hunt a rabbit.
To ensure nothing went wrong and to minimize any potential trouble later, he decided to carefully prepare.
Thus, if unnecessary complications could be avoided, it was naturally best to avoid them.
Besides, he might still need these underlings to guide Danzo to him later!
So, he couldn't go overboard and risk angering Danzo.
Various thoughts flashed through Seimei's mind as he quickly left the village and arrived at a secluded forest.
Seimei circled above the forest several times. Using his Byakugan, he thoroughly surveyed the surrounding area.
In the end, he shook his head, left the area, and flew elsewhere.
In terms of location, this place wasn't bad—it was suitable for either training or serving as a battlefield.
However, the problem was that there were several villages nearby, as well as a sizable town.
In such a situation, any significant commotion in this area would attract unwanted attention.
This was something Seimei wanted to avoid.
Thus, he had no choice but to give it up.
Fortunately, his flight speed was fast enough, and the Land of Fire's territory was vast enough for him to find a more ideal location.
...
Time passed quickly, and before long, it was mid-morning.
After searching through more than ten locations, Seimei finally found a place that met his criteria.
This was in the southern part of the Land of Fire, near the coastline, within a forest.
The area was surrounded by barren land, devoid of human presence.
Moreover, there were no important routes or bases nearby, so no ninja units were stationed here.
Because of this, it was perfect for his training and equally suitable as a battlefield.
Here, no matter how much of a commotion he caused, it wouldn't attract attention.
At least, not for a while.
And for him, that was more than enough.
However, Seimei didn't rush to lure Danzo to the area.
Danzo was a scheming and cunning individual. If Seimei acted too conspicuously, it could arouse Danzo's suspicions.
If that happened, Danzo might not come in person, and Seimei's plans would fall apart.
Thus, he needed to plan carefully.
After some thought, Seimei realized that only by subtly allowing Danzo to discover this place could he lower Danzo's guard, making him believe he had seized an opportunity to strike.
Otherwise, there would definitely be issues.
To achieve this, Seimei needed to create an opportunity for Danzo.
Fortunately, creating such an opportunity wasn't difficult.
In fact, it was quite simple.
Seimei didn't believe that Danzo's Root ninjas couldn't track his location just because they lacked flight techniques. Even if they used the most basic methods—such as setting up observation points along the way—they would gradually pinpoint his location.
Of course, this relied on Seimei not deliberately hiding his movements.
So, over the next few days, as long as he came here regularly to train, the opportunity would naturally present itself.
That's right—his plan was just that simple.
And the simpler a plan, the less likely it was to go wrong.
Thus, after some deep consideration, Seimei decided to proceed in this way.
Once his decision was made, he didn't waste any more time.
He selected a spot and descended directly.
Without any delay, the moment his feet touched the ground, Seimei raised his hands to form seals and performed the "Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu," creating six shadow clones.
Looking at the six clones, Seimei assigned each of them specific training tasks before turning and leaving.
Finding another relatively quiet place, Seimei sat cross-legged and began alternating between "Mystical Palm Technique" and "Mind's Eye Technique." He simultaneously strengthened his body and advanced the evolution of his Sharingan.
Time passed second by second.
Before long, Seimei was fully immersed in his training.
