Great Demon Sun Wukong

Chapter 230 Six-Eared Macaque Disappears

The one that seemed the least impressive originally, Hao Chen's true form—a fist-sized gray stone—turned out to be the only one among the three to have completely gained the upper hand. Yao Wumeng was evenly matched in combat, while Bu Yun was at a stalemate with his opponent, unable to gain an advantage over each other.

Only Hao Chen, with that fist-sized gray stone, had the golden giant ant spinning in confusion, its body riddled with many pits and cracks. Even one of its six spear-like sharp limbs had broken off.

However, what was strange was that the golden giant ant did not bleed a drop from either the wounds on its broken limbs or the holes and cracks on its body, as if it truly were made entirely out of gold. Yet, everyone could clearly sense the life force of the golden giant ant, which only a true living creature would possess.

At that moment, Bu Yun heard the angry roars and pained screams of the golden giant ant coming incessantly from Hao Chen's location and felt surprised. Suddenly, an idea struck him, and a large mass of black clouds immediately rolled toward Hao Chen's position. Upon his arrival, Bu Yun's face showed an even more surprised expression.

He saw the fist-sized gray stone once again streak across with a gray shadow, precisely striking one of the legs of the golden giant ant. The creature, already down to five legs, had another one broken by the impact. Although the golden giant ant was enraged, it could not touch Hao Chen at all.

"Hey, Hao Chen, let's switch opponents," said Bu Yun, already floating beside the stone. "I really can't find a way to deal with this hard shell, like a tortoise. It's just too much." Hao Chen, seeing Bu Yun running over to his side and wanting to switch opponents, laughed and said, "What's the matter? I remember your Soul Devouring Insect claims to devour all things in heaven and earth.

Can't it break through the defenses of this golden giant ant?"

"It's not about breaking through, the taste of that ant's shell is just too awful. If I eat any more, I fear it might even affect my Devouring Ability. Come on, brother, when we get out of here, I'll take you to my mansion for that millennium-brewed spirit, and we won't stop until we're drunk."

Hao Chen, initially reluctant, immediately brightened up at the mention of the millennium-brewed spirit and said eagerly, "You better keep your promise; this time I'm going to have a good drink." Having said that, he left the severely wounded golden giant ant behind, transformed into a ray of gray light, and flew toward the opponent Bu Yun initially faced.

At the same time, the golden giant ant that had been confronting Bu Yun shot toward them like a bolt of golden lightning. Thus, before Hao Chen and the golden giant ant could react, they collided viciously. The impact caused several huge cracks on the hard shell of the giant ant's head. After letting out a pained scream, the golden giant ant fell onto the sand.

Since Hao Chen's true form was exceedingly hard, he only felt a bit dizzy but did not sustain any substantial damage. Seeing the golden giant ant fall, he chuckled and then soared straight up into the sky. Within a few breaths, he was above the Nine Heavens, and the gray stone emitted a murky glow before hurtling toward the ground with even greater intensity.

As the gray glow on the surface of the stone rubbed against the air, it ignited into a giant fireball. With the force of Wan Jun, it smashed directly onto the head of the golden giant ant that had just managed to get up from the ground. Suddenly, a loud explosion sounded, and the ground where the golden giant ant lay was blasted out into a nearly hundred-meter deep crater.

The blast wave even swept Bu Yun and the injured giant ant over a dozen meters away, nearly blowing Bu Yun apart. Yet, Yao Wumeng and the giant ant he was fiercely battling were unaffected, continuing their relentless fight amidst the massive blast wave. This showed that there were indeed differences in strength among these three, or rather, these four golden giant ants.

The one Yao Wumeng was fighting was the strongest; the one that had been confronting Bu Yun was second; and the one facing Hao Chen was third. Meanwhile, Jing Potian had already killed the weakest of the four giant ants.

As the blast wave cleared and the dust settled, at the very bottom of the gigantic sand crater, one could see the golden giant ant smashed out of shape, its back completely pierced through, revealing a large hole. The area around the wound was already melting like a hot iron had been applied to it.

Certainly, the temperature generated by Hao Chen's descent combined with his potent force and speed ultimately resulted in the complete melting and piercing of the golden giant ant's back. However, Hao Chen was not in great shape either, now in human form, leaning against the sandy wall of the crater, pale and gasping for breath.

Yet, upon seeing the large pierced hole on the golden giant ant, he suddenly seemed stunned.

Although Bu Yun was blown over a dozen meters by the blast wave, he was unharmed and, in the first moment of realization, swooped onto the injured giant ant and directly burrowed into the wound on its back. To strike when one's enemy is down is the truth of survival.

With two giant ants already slain and the one Bu Yun had entered likely not to last much longer, only Yao Wumeng and the strongest golden giant ant were left to battle at the Western Gate of the City of Ruins.
