Chapter 342: Born Rebellious, Defiant Demigod
Elf Court, Sainfeiren
This is the highest holy land in the hearts of all elves on the Xilantia Continent and the sanctuary most favored by the will of nature. Trees of Life, towering like mountains, stand erect here. The elves of the court build their dwellings around these Trees of Life, which is a perfect blend of art and nature, and the coexistence style most admired by the druids of the Nature Sect.
However, only in Sainfeiren can one witness the perfect coexistence of life and nature; elsewhere, it is absolutely unseen because only here can multiple Trees of Life coexist.
One Tree of Life is enough to sustain a large elf tribe. Unfortunately, not every place can plant a Tree of Life. Once fully grown, the Tree of Life exudes the Power of Nature, which can establish a sanctuary of life, offering protection and producing many rare resources coveted by many.
However, despite the abundance of natural resources in Sainfeiren, few forces and races dare target it because its rich resources have created a mighty forest.
Even as the elves ruling this natural holy land grow corrupt and decay, this place still houses the world's strongest Spirit of Nature and the largest and mightiest Natural Guardians.
Still, it's not that many dare—there are always fanatics in this world. When the Undead Calamity raged years ago, the undead army aimed directly at Sainfeiren, genuinely intending to conquer this natural holy land.
Central Earth is the continent's center. Occupying it could not only create stronger undead legions but also allow wanton plundering of the surroundings.
However, the undead's offensive eventually collapsed, and the threat to Sainfeiren vanished without a trace. Yet, this disaster was not resolved by the elves themselves; they merely participated, adding to the numbers.
When resolving this disaster, the status in the eyes of the elves should be no less than that of the Savior, Holy Dragon Noah, descending upon this place. Yet, the atmosphere of this natural holy land was rather peculiar.
"Uncle Ancestor Noah!"
Parvati, nominally second only to the Elf Queen but in reality, the Regent King, grasping all royal, divine, and military authority, the first in power among elves, led the royal entourage to greet the Holy Dragon, who tore through the sky in his forceful descent.
Noah glanced past his grandniece and towards the entourage of High Elves behind her—Silver Moon Elves and Sun Elves with their dazzling hair and flawless, handsome faces, unmistakable features.
These noble High Elves wore life vine armor interwoven with mithril threads and embedded with pure gold blocks, with rich spiritual energy leaping on them,
Behind the High Elves, Noah saw the High Order Priest Group in platinum robes and elite knights riding flying pegasuses and horned eagle beasts.
Based on the personnel specification alone, Noah could confirm that this was the highest standard currently offered by the Elf Court, treatment no ordinary Ancient Golden Dragon would receive.
Although these elves, under Parvati's lead, left nothing to criticize in terms of etiquette, Noah could still sense the eerie atmosphere pervading the elf group.
To put it simply and bluntly, this group of High Elves fundamentally did not welcome him, not solely because Noah, during the war, exploited the pressure from the Undead Calamity to sharply increase military supply prices, ruthlessly exploiting the Elf Court, but also due to his confrontations with the elven deities.
The relationship between the Elf Court and Holy Dragon Noah is quite subtle because, even with seemingly adversarial actions, Noah has never publicly demeaned or attacked the elves.
Therefore, even with much dissatisfaction, the elves must suppress it in public because Noah does not merely represent himself; behind him stands the Golden Dragon Clan, even the entire Metallic Dragon Race, and possibly an unknown Dragon King or Dragon God.
Private animosity and rivalry with Noah are permissible, but listing Noah as an enemy publicly would bring losses and consequences the current Elf Court could not endure.
Since Noah's same-race companions from other planes would assuredly support him, whereas the elves' same-race counterparts from other planes would likely disassociate if aware of this issue.
Therefore, whether from self-interest or a broader perspective, publicly expanding the adversarial relationship with Holy Dragon Noah is an extremely unwise act of folly; maintaining superficial decency is necessary.
However, Noah did not care about the elves' opinions. His purpose here was not for the elves but for his grandniece before him.
Thus, after a brief glance at the ever-increasing numbers of elves, the gaze of the Golden Dragon fell back on Parvati.
The nearly 150-year-old demigod fairy, even with longevity species blood in her veins, now had the countenance of a young girl. Of course, she was still immature, and for High Elves, Parvati was excessively young.
Yet such a young and not purely blooded half-elf stood at the pinnacle of power in the Elf Court, which places tremendous emphasis on blood lineage hierarchy and purity—a deep irony for many High Elves within the court.
Undoubtedly, possessing divine protection, partial divine status, and able to wield some divine power, Parvati appeared without flaw, at least on the surface.
