Golden Dragon: Six Thousand Years of Empire

Chapter 300: It's Getting Cold, Suggest the King to Don His Robe

"What is this?"

Marshal Erwin looked in shock at the beast dragon carcass that had fallen from the sky and crashed into the fortress, along with several orc knights who died in a most miserable state, and suddenly looked up to the sky.

A golden dragon shadow, even the thick mist could not fully obscure it, was gradually emerging with the tremors of time and space.

The vast and winding dragon shadow, though casting no shadow below, exerted an overwhelming pressure and radiated a silent dragon power that enveloped the entire fortress in stillness.

Even the battle-hardened veterans, forged through gruesome battles with orcs, involuntarily halted and stared blankly at the sky above, their bodies shivering uncontrollably.

It was not their will that feared, but their flesh and blood's instinct, a primal fear and trembling in the face of a being who ranked at the pinnacle of the Material Realm, yearning to prostrate themselves, offering the highest respect from deep within their soul.

"Your friend?"

Not feeling any hostility directed at them, and sensing goodwill as the entity refrained from causing undue disturbance, Marshal Erwin looked at the Golden Dragon couple beside him, whose expressions mirrored his own astonishment.

"...Probably not."

Angelis paused for a moment, then carefully chose his words to deny the inquiry from the human marshal.

"I don't know."

Unlike her partner, Orsya simply shook her head.

The mature Golden Dragon, known for her powerful spellcasting and usual calm and rational demeanor, now had confusion and bafflement in her eyes.

She sensed something, but what her perception fed back was so vastly different from her understanding that she dared not confirm any of it.

This Golden Dragon Mage even doubted whether she was trapped in some illusion, or if a high priest, blessed by the Divine or ancestral grace, had arrived on the orc side.

"Is this not from your Dragon Clan?"

Marshal Erwin found it hard to believe. Although he could only catch glimpses through the swirling clouds, the golden dragon scales unmistakably indicated the identity of this being who traversed time and space. Yet, the Golden Dragon couple declared they didn't know or recognize him.

"It's indeed from the Dragon Clan, but we are not sure of his identity."

Angelis exchanged a glance with his wife, and upon seeing her shake her head, he had to explain to the human marshal before him.

He also sensed some familiar aura, but it was precisely because it was familiar that he dared not confirm it. He would rather doubt his senses than make such an absurd judgment.

The being was so great and powerful; how could there possibly be a bloodline connection with him? It seemed impossible no matter how he thought about it.

"Father, Mother, have you become so unfamiliar with me that you claim not to recognize me in front of my face? This really makes me feel sad."

The massive dragon shadow swirling in the mist had vanished, replaced by a handsome, towering dragon-man standing on the city wall, looking disappointedly at the stunned, bewildered, and at a loss Golden Dragon couple.

"Noah?!"

The couple exclaimed in unison, looking at the young dragon-man before them, whose presence felt as if he was a grand ancient god mountain towering since the world's creation, exuding an overwhelming sense of pressure, and they called out his name.

"Weren't you just saying you didn't recognize him?"

Marshal Erwin, whose muscles involuntarily tensed yet forced a smile on his face, looked at the bewildered Golden Dragon couple, his face equally filled with confusion.

Judging by the couple's manner, they seemed not to know their own child well, but that wasn't the most incredible part. The most incredible was how, despite being a family, the power gap between the parents and their offspring could be so vast?

As a human Legend, Marshal Erwin could feel the strength of these two Golden Dragons. Although not legendary, they could more than hold their own against humanoid race legends.

This is the superiority of racial bloodlines, and thus in daily interactions, they were treated as peers. Yet now, looking at the offspring of the Golden Dragon couple, Marshal Erwin felt he could only look up to him, completely unqualified to engage in an equal dialogue.

"Perhaps it's because I have been away for too long, and my changes have been quite significant, so they find me a bit unfamiliar!"

Noah glanced at the Legend who showed astonishment and curiosity on his face but deeply held caution and vigilance in his eyes, smiling as he explained.

"Are you really Noah? How is this possible? How did you become like this?"

Only at this moment did Angelis recover from his shock, looking in awe at the young dragon-man before him, with his magnificent dragon wings at the back reaffirming the thoughts he hardly dared confirm moments ago.

"Noah, have you successfully undergone Ancestor Return?"

Compared to the agitated and nearly losing composure dragon father, the dragon mother Orsya appeared much more composed, even boldly speculating the reason Noah had changed so drastically that they, as parents, dared not recognize him.

"Yes, I successfully transformed into an Ancestor Dragon a long time ago."
