God-Tier Extraction Talent: Reincarnated in a Game-like World!

Chapter 117: The Event Begins [2]

Naturally, these players were Bunny, Sniperbowlegend, BrawlerX, and Ragnarok99.

They were here to register for the Adventurer Guild, never expecting to run into the very person that made them come to the capital.

Bunny waved energetically. "I knew it! It was you! Good to see you again, Sir Broken!"

"Good to see you too." Gabriel gave a polite nod and looked at the others.

However, they seemed to be looking behind him with stunned expressions on their faces.

He followed their gaze and understood the reason for their reaction.

[Scarlet Voss}

[Level: 100]

[Threat Level: Critical Threat]

'Damn, a Hero-Rank NPC already!' BrawlerX cried in his mind. 'Sir Broken actually knows a level 100 NPC!'

'So beautiful and so powerful, who is she?' Ragnarok99 couldn't stop ogling at the NPC's body.

She was by far the most beautiful NPC he had ever come across in any game he had played.

At that moment, he felt a chilling killing intent and his scalp tingled. Instinctively, he looked away, trying to act composed.

'Horny dog.' Gabriel sneered in his mind, slightly disappointed.

The only person that seemed to maintain some self-control was Sniperbowlegend. There was clearly a look of admiration in his eyes, but he was much more composed.

Seeing how curious they were about Scarlet, Gabriel decided to introduce her.

"This is Scarlet Voss. She's the vice leader of the Adventurer Guild."

Scarlet gave a faint nod, hiding the disgust on her face.

"It's a pleasure meeting you Otherworlders."

The players all stiffened as if a queen had just acknowledged them.

"V-Vice leader?" Bunny stuttered, blinking rapidly. "Of the Adventurer Guild?"

"Damn, she's a major NPC!"

"I knew Sir Broken didn't only have unusual strength! Who would've thought he'd also have an NPC waifu!"

Ignoring the banter between the players, Scarlet turned to Gabriel, silently asking for an explanation.

"They're Otherworlders I ran into a few weeks ago."

"I see," Scarlet murmured. Although she didn't like the way the two muscular players were ogling her, she knew that having them as allies was beneficial in the long run because of their immortal status.

"So what brought you to the Adventurer Guild? Are you here to take a quest?" Gabriel asked a moment later.

"No," Bunny replied. "We actually came to sign up with the Adventurer Guild since they're a neutral party… while we looked for you."

"But now that we've seen you, sir, we'd like to sign up for your guild instead!" exclaimed Ragnarok99.

"Yes, sir! Please take us under your wing!" BrawlerX said passionately with an emotional look in his eyes.

Bunny and Sniperbowlegend resisted the urge to roll their eyes.

"I'm yet to start a guild," Gabriel said plainly.

"Huh?"

The four appeared shocked. They had expected Gabriel to already have a guild that could rival the five major factions.

"However," Gabriel continued, "you can join the Adventurer Guild for now. After the event, I plan on starting my own guild."

When he said these words, he expected a reaction from Scarlet—but her expression remained indifferent.

She already knew someone as powerful, talented, and prideful as Gabriel wouldn't remain under any guild for long. He was someone who liked to be in control, after all.

"Yes sir!" Bunny pumped her fist. "We'll join the Adventurer Guild and wait for your official guild after the event!"

"Sounds good." Gabriel nodded, then looked at Scarlet. "Can they join the guild?"

Scarlet gave a side glance at the eager group, her pale blue eyes gleaming faintly.

"As long as they pass the basic test, they'll be admitted."

"A test?" BrawlerX blinked. "Wait, I thought we just had to sign a form?"

"This is the Adventurer Guild, not a circus," Scarlet replied coldly. "Every recruit must prove they can survive on their own."

Sniperbowlegend nodded seriously. "That's fair."

"I'll arrange for Lilly to personally handle them," Scarlet said.

The test went smoothly, and they all joined the Iron Squad—which was the most populous squad in the entire guild.

Throughout the Valerian Kingdom, scouts from various guilds were enrolling players.

Meanwhile, monsters slowly drew closer to the walls, and a few fights broke out from time to time.

Tension filled the air, and excited whispers could be heard among the citizens.

However, the most excited bunch were definitely the players.

The event promised rewards—and, of course, a shot at becoming famous, which was something everyone was aiming for.

In the bustling streets of the capital, players rushed from one vendor to the next.

Blacksmiths were overloaded with orders. Potion shops had lines stretching around corners.

"Hahahaha, business is good!" Korran—the smith who forged Gabriel's Crimson Judgement greatsword—laughed boisterously when he saw the long lines of players and NPCs alike.

Just outside the Adventurer Guild, posters for the Inter-Guild Display were being pasted on every wall.

In one corner of the city, crowds gathered around as digital displays hovered in the air, showing the current top guilds and the countdown to the event.

People were actively placing bets on who would snatch first place this year.

Naturally, the top three choices were the Olympus Guild, the Holy Church, and the Martial Palace.

Minutes turned into hours, and finally, the moment everyone was waiting for arrived.

[Ding! The Inter-Guild Display Event will now begin!]
