God of Destruction: Living Among Mortals

Chapter 67: Encounter: Part I

As she traversed further and further, unlocking the entire map of the playground and parts of the grander trail, she encountered a couple of kids playing with a football. They kicked it to each other, as if warming up, then went towards one of the goals.

As she saw them playing, visually learning from them, from the corner of her eyes, she saw three people, fully covered in black attire, heading towards the three kids playing, and feeling the grim aura radiating from them.

She turned serious as the three musketeers maintained their distance, looking for the right opportunity to strike. They kept walking slowly, creeping up on the ignorant kids. She saw through their masks; the musketeers were grinning, as if thinking they had already gotten away with potentially kidnapping the kids.

As they were only a yard away, Elesch lunged towards the kids. She became a barrier between the kids and the three musketeers. They were taken aback, snarling silently at her.

"You kids should go home," Elesch said, locking eyes with all three of them, as they listened to her. Then she turned back, smirking at the musketeers. "Did you really think I would let you even get near the kids?" She scoffed at them.

"You fucking cunt," the guy in the middle said, his voice deep and gnarly. He spat on the ground, trying to act tough, before saying, "You don't want to mess with us, girl. So, back to the kitchen and fuck off."

"How does the kitchen and I even correlate?" She was confused, tilting her head, as she wasn't fully aware of the stereotypes that humans had set for each other, to divide themselves further. "You don't even make sense, what a trash insult."

They looked at each other, defeated, astonished, taken aback. They whispered among themselves as Elesch patiently waited for their little ted talk to dissipate.

The guy in the middle locked eyes with her, and Elesch felt the malice dripping out of them like a waterfall. "Just go home, and let's forget about this encounter, got it?" his jaw tightened, the deepness in his voice becoming guttural.

"Why would I do that? You're just going to kidnap another kid. I won't let that happen." She stood her ground, feeling pride as the musketeers looked at her in confusion.

"Are you fucking for real right now?" the middle musketeer spoke up again, confused. "We are all awakened, and can easily kill you on the spot, you realize that, right?"

"No, I don't realize that you arrogant, vile scums of humanity." Elesch's smirk grew bigger as the musketeers felt annoyed at her adamant nature.

"Very well then, don't say we didn't warn you," the middle musketeer snarled, as the other two dropped their hands to the side, rolling their shoulders back, removing their black hoodie.

Elesch smirked as the two musketeers leapt towards her, their hands summoning water and ice. The musketeer on the right had ice manipulation, while the one on the left had water manipulation. They looked at each other, smirking as the left musketeer hurled water at Elesch, then the right musketeer froze the water, trapping Elesch inside a thick layer of ice.

Elesch was completely frozen, or so the musketeers thought, but in the next second, Elesch escaped, resting her head demonically on the side. Glaring at them with oblivion.

She rushed towards the first two musketeers. They used the same strategy again, freezing the water, but as Elesch made contact with the ice, her void manipulation took effect, erasing the ice from existence.

She threw a right hook to the guy on the right, then kicked him with both her legs, to gain momentum to sucker punch the other guy, on the chest, then uppercut him to knock him unconscious.

She grinned at the last guy, who was calm and composed, and even clapped for her. She grew more overconfident, not realizing that overconfidence was key to failure. Utter failure.

He removed his hoodie, and a tattoo came into view on his right forearm, three stark letters inked deep into his skin: TNT.

"Nice tattoo," Elesch said, not knowing who she was up against; at least it wasn't Cain, otherwise...

"Thanks," the guy said, grinning at her devilishly, before leaping towards her. "I'm sorry to say this, but you really messed with the wrong people."

Before she could even realize his words, he was already behind her, and at the last second, she turned back, but it was too late. She felt her ribs crack as he kicked her precision. She went a couple of feet back, but he was already there.

He repeatedly punched her all over he body, then swept her legs, to axe kick her in the stomach. She coughed some blood, then just as he was about to axe kick her again, she rolled to the side, getting herself up.

Then, his palms sparked with lightning, and he hurled a lightning bolt towards her, but she dodged it. But he was in front of her again, touching her arms to deliver lightning through her veins. She was shaking violently, screaming, as the adults and the kids in the playground realized what was happening.

Some of them screamed, but the musketeer grew angrier, zapping some of the people with a deadly volt that killed them instantly. People screamed and ran away as chaos ensued in the park and through the trail.

Elesch managed to kick him in the balls, making him scream in agony, then she tried to kick him again, but he stopped her foot, electrifying it. But she touched his hands, making his lightning cease to exist. She grinned at him before fully kicking him.

She ascended towards him, pinning him down to continually throw a barrage of punches aimed at swelling his face beyond comprehension.

Then, in a desperate surge, his entire body crackled with violent arcs of lightning, exploding outward and forcing her off him. Elesch skidded back, while he slowly climbed to his feet. Both of them straightened, eyes locked, ready for the next round.
