God of Destruction: Living Among Mortals

Chapter 58: Mainland China

Nova and Elesch were in Freya's chamber, where the setting was very peaceful, colorful, with cosmic bodies floating like atoms all around. They sat on the bed, Elesch appearing like a ten-year-old child, while Nova and Freya interlocked their hands.

"Elesch wants to join me in the mortal realm," Nova said, which didn't surprise Freya, since she knew how rebellious and active Elesch truly was. "I said yes, so we'll be leaving shortly."

Elesch nodded, smiling at the two. She fluttered her legs, like a dog wagging its tail in excitement.

"Okay then," Freya said, a hint of sadness appearing in her tone, as she realized she wouldn't have any company with both of them gone. She turned to Nova and said, "Keep her safe; otherwise, you will be hearing from me."

Nova got the chills from Freya, sweating at his temple, as he just nodded vigorously. Then, legarthically, he fell to the bed, taking in the softness of the bed, falling in love, as his mortal bed couldn't provide the same feeling. It was as if that bed was made only to sleep, and nothing else. However, this bed felt relaxing, calm, and composed.

Elesch joined him, the Freya, both resting on his arms, and he brought them closer for a big hug. He snuggled with them, rubbing cheeks together, until all their cheeks were red. Then, after lying there for a moment longer, Nova got up, realizing that he had to get on the battlefield.

Nova got up from the bed, cracking his neck, as he stood straight, Elesch joining him. They held hands as Nova kissed Freya deeply.

The two teleported in an instant to the F-rank dungeon; everything in the mortal realm was still frozen, as Elesch still had to snap her fingers.

Nova saw his unconscious mortal body and picked it up, then Adam's body, putting it near the checkpoint, as both of them, Nova and Elesch, snapped their fingers, unfreezing time, and losing their divinity.

Nova's soul went back to his mortal body, as Elesch remained still, only losing her divinity. All the creatures were dumbfounded as Nova got up, barely, feeling the excruciating pain dealt to his body. Then, smiling at them, picking up Adam's body, he touched the checkpoint. Elesch followed him right after.

As they went through the checkpoint, the world glitched for Nova and Elesch, teleporting them to another location, as Adam appeared in front of the secretary, lifeless.

The secretary took him to the guild's infirmary, going more than a hundred and two miles an hour. She looked very worried, her eyes slightly wide, her teeth somewhat trembling, her senses all fastened as if she couldn't afford to be late to the infirmary, even for a second, not to be distracted by anything that happened on the road. A child comes on the road, good luck to that child. It was like that.

On the other hand, Nova and Elesch had teleported to an unknown place. As the place came into view, stitching back together, they straightened.

They saw mountains rising far in the distance, covered in snow, while endless rivers shone beneath the sunlight, weaving through valleys as if they were veins of the Earth, which they were.

The air carried hints of soil, smoke, shrimp, and that odor that only human beings gave.

Villages stretched across the plains, tiled rooftops bending with interesting arcs. The sound of voices, merchants calling out, and carts rumbling over stone roads echoed in the distance.

Elesch clung tighter to his hand, her childlike eyes wide, shimmering with curiosity as she spun around slowly, drinking in the sight. Nova only stood there, his chest heavy, realizing this land was not Boston.

They had, unofficially, arrived on the mainland of China.

Before they started to walk, Elesch's hand shimmered with a strong black aura, as a pillar formed in her Circle of Pillars, before the official two-concentric circles even formed. This terrified Nova, since he realized that the potential for Elesch was much greater than his, and that to by milestones.

He had never seen or heard of anyone awakening a pillar before their circles even formed. This was an interesting research opportunity for Nova to study and learn about. Since he wanted to uncover everything about the mortal realm, as a mortal, since he was omniscient as the God of Destruction.

"What's about ability, tell me," Nova asked Elesch, who looked confused as she wasn't fully aware of what was happening. And just like Nova, on his first day, it hit her like an electric current.

"Is this what the mortals refer to as 'the 'Circle of Pillars'?" Elesch asked him, curious, as she caressed her hands. "It's so... normal."

"Well, we are in the mortal world. So, it makes sense for everything here to be normal. Anyways, go into your mindspace, and tell me what your ability is." Nova repeated.

Elesch channeled her "mindspace," and her eyes turned completely white, as her iris went up, as if she was possessed. Nova was further bamboozled, as something like this happening was not written in any of the books he had read thus far.

She returned after five minutes, then said: "Void manipulation, Void I. My ability lets me manipulate fragments of the void, absorb small amounts of matter or energy in contact range. It's a touch-based erasure."

Nova tried not to chuckle, as it was ironic that Elesch's power was essentially a less modified version of her divine ability. The Queen of the Void in both the mortal and the godly realm, such irony.

"It suits you," Nova smiled softly, as they walked forward. "You would definitely be the perfect candidate for your ability, since it's your whole motto anyway."

Elesch smiled even brighter than him, as her slow ass realized what Nova was talking about.

They walked forward, walking into a shop that said they sold mana crystals. They entered, since Nova badly needed a yellow mana crystal, to repair even some of his health, mana, and energy back to an appropriate level, especially since they were in a foreign country, and had no way of contacting the guild whatsoever.
