Global Lord: My Undead Can Undergo Fission

Chapter 5: Chapter 5 Skeleton Transformation Field

"It truly is a place where crouching tigers and hidden dragons lay; I rank only third in this area. However, in terms of military strength, I should be the first," Fang Jie confidently reflected as he looked at the vast number of Skeleton Labors outside.

"Accept the reward," Fang Jie said directly.

Then, the item of this reward, the blueprint for the Skeleton Conversion Field, appeared on the table.

"This is a troop-building facility; I wonder how the battle capabilities of the Regular Soldiers will be."

After all, his Skeleton Labors weren't real troops but were equated to farmers. If he had Regular Soldiers levelled with the Undead Troop, the combat power would definitely be stronger.

Fang Jie walked out and after looking around for a while, he came to a clearing in the forest. For some reason, it was a sandy area almost entirely useless.

"This place will do. We have enough stone and wood, just not enough bones; let's wait for now."

Fang Jie checked the building requirements: 10 units of stone, 10 units of wood, and 20 units of bone.

All had been consumed in the making of Skeleton Labor; now, more were needed. There were plenty of Goblins nearby, hence plenty of bones. Before long, the materials were gathered, and Fang Jie immediately ordered the construction.

A group of Skeleton Labors ran over, carrying the materials, and threw them onto the clearing.

With each drop, the materials would directly dissolve and then transform the landscape. This method of transformation was new to Fang Jie; previously, the Lord's Cottage had changed directly without the help of Skeleton Labor.

Perhaps it was because it was the Lord's Cottage, making it different from the rest.

Before long, the Skeleton Conversion Field was constructed. On the surface, it looked like a huge pit with bones spiraling down into the darkness below, where nothing could be seen.

Skeleton Conversion Field Level 1: Skeleton Soldier transformation building, input resources to gain new Skeleton Troops.

Upgrade needs 50 units of stone, 50 units of bone, 30 spirit points.

Skeleton Soldier Level 1: Rank (Apprentice)

Recruitment requirements: 2 units of bone, 2 spirit points

"Let's try it; two units, the strength should be stronger," Fang Jie decided after checking the level. Soon, two Goblin corpses were brought in.

The patrol range of the Skeleton Labor had grown significantly, and nearby Goblins were becoming rarer.

Minutes later, a Skeleton Soldier emerged from the Skeleton Conversion Field. Taller and with whiter bones, it showcased the strength of the Skeleton Soldier.

Instead of a simple bone tool, it held a bone sword.

"Come over, let's see how this combat power fares."

Fang Jie called over a Skeleton Labor to face the Skeleton Soldier, and both Skeletons charged at each other to attack. In terms of momentum, the Skeleton Soldier was incomparably stronger than the Skeleton Labor.

"So fast, so strong," Fang Jie's eyes widened as the Skeleton Soldier moved much faster than he expected. With one sword strike, the Skeleton Labor's head was instantly chopped in two.

Killing the opponent with one move, it seemed that even the Goblins couldn't withstand such a strike.

"Not bad, really not bad. Although it cost twice as much, its combat power matches that of five Skeleton Labors." Despite both being at the Apprentice level, the strength differed significantly.

At Fang Jie's command, the production of Skeleton Labor stopped, and all materials were thrown into the Skeleton Conversion Field. Then, casually, he let the Skeleton Soldier undergo fission, turning it into two. "The consumption seems a bit high."

"You all go and collect materials, and upgrade the Skeleton Conversion Field as soon as possible," Fang Jie instructed the idle Skeleton Labor to go out and search for materials to speed up the construction.

"I'm really hungry, haven't those guys found anything edible yet? It can't be that the goblins have eaten everything around here, right? No, if this continues, I'll starve to death. I need to go out and look for some wild fruits or something."

Fang Jie could hardly bear it any longer. Before he even set out, a group of exploring Skeleton Labor returned.

"Weren't you supposed to be looking for water?" he asked. "Did you find it?"

Several skeletons nodded vigorously, their bodies dripping wet. Without tools to carry water, these skeletons had soaked themselves and walked back like that.

If Fang Jie hadn't seen the residual water stains, he really wouldn't have been able to confirm that they had found water.

But could he still drink water that had been soaked by skeletons? Oh well, he might as well check it out; it could be fresh water.

Lord's Cottage: Level 2

Functional Building: Skeleton Conversion Field Level 1

Troop Strength: Skeleton Labor Level 1: 133, Level 2: 36, Skeleton Soldiers Level 1: 4

Spirit Points: 23

Fang Jie opened the panel to take a glance, then took three Skeleton Soldiers and all the Level 2 Skeleton Labor, following the few exploring Skeleton Labor toward a distant location.

For some reason, although these skeletons didn't have brains, they never got lost and had extremely accurate memory for routes. Following them, it didn't take long for Fang Jie to hear the sound of flowing water.

"It's running water, it's fresh water; we won't be lacking water anymore," Fang Jie licked his lips.

He had been in this world for quite a long part of the day without drinking water, having moved intensely during earlier battles. By this time, Fang Jie was feeling very thirsty; encountering fresh water was truly great.

Fang Jie hastened his steps and finally saw a reflective surface that made his eyes sting a bit.

Before he could rush over, he heard a scream up ahead.

Fang Jie stopped in his tracks, looked in the direction of the scream, and then felt a wave of relief. It was a good thing he had brought guards along, otherwise, he would have been in trouble. Just nearby, a herd of wild buffalo was drinking water.

And these buffalo even had tags, stronger than goblins.

Wild Buffalo Level 2: Apprentice Level

The sudden appearance of the skeletons also gave the buffaloes a big start. The two closest ones lowered their heads and charged, and then the skeletons fought back. The combat power of these individual buffaloes was not less than that of a Skeleton Soldier.

But as more and more skeletons appeared, the buffaloes grew frightened and started to retreat. Only the two still in the midst of fighting had no chance to pull back since they were surrounded.

"Great, now we have not just water but have solved the food problem too."

After patting his chest and feeling relieved, joy followed. With food, he could continue to develop without any worries.

Those Skeleton Soldiers didn't need to eat food at all, a one-time investment reaped lifelong benefits, with no need for logistical supplies. Fang Jie watched as the two buffaloes got more severely wounded, bleeding more and more.

Finally, they collapsed weak from their injuries, and the other buffaloes could only retreat, none daring to come help.

"Go, dig a few buckets; we'll take them back," Fang Jie commanded as the buffaloes left, instructing the skeletons to start working. With no tools to carry water, they would just have to make them on the spot.
