Chapter 320: 320: Arming for the Lich Hunt
"For example, the Naga set — seven scales for Naga leggings, eight for a Naga Scale Tunic."
"The leggings come with Protection III by default, and the chestplate comes with Fire Protection III."
At that, everyone glanced at their own diamond armor sets — each crammed full of high-tier enchantments.
"Ehe~!"
Venti grinned.
"You really think we need to make that? It's nowhere near as good as our diamond sets, and it's made from Naga scales.
Wearing it would just feel… gross."
Ryen shrugged.
"Then we'll just keep it for now. It's still a magical material, after all — Albedo will probably be interested.
If he manages to tinker something useful out of it, it'll be worth it."
Lumine slumped nearby, propping her chin in her hands.
"We went through all that trouble, and the Naga didn't give us anything! Worst monster ever!"
"That's not quite fair," Ryen chuckled.
"Killing the Naga is what lifts the barrier on the Lich Tower. The Naga is the starting point for everything — one way or another, we had to take it down.
"And while the Naga doesn't drop great loot, the Twilight Lich will. Don't forget how we got the four staff artifacts."
At that, Lumine perked up again.
"Oh, right! Once I get the Shield Staff, not even Zhongli will be able to touch me before my shield breaks!
Pair that with the Vampiric Staff and the Scepter of Twilight for damage, and the Zombie Staff for swarm tactics…"
She tilted her chin up proudly.
"Even Zhongli wouldn't be able to beat me one-on-one!"
Zhongli, suddenly cast as her imaginary rival for no reason, felt… complicated.
After a moment's silence, he said softly,
"You could always make Celestia your hypothetical opponent instead…"
"But saying you makes it feel more direct! Don't be so petty — it's not like I'm really going to fight you!"
Lumine waved him off, entirely unconcerned, and Zhongli let the matter drop.
"Ryen, are we going to rest a bit and then head into the Ghost Forest?" Lumine asked expectantly.
He shook his head with a wry smile.
"Forget it — your mind's already set on the Twilight Lich. Even if I told you to explore, you wouldn't feel like it, right?"
Lumine giggled.
"Well, I do want one of those staves! You've already got the Vampiric Staff, so I want one too!"
The others clearly found the Twilight Lich more tempting as well.
After all, he was guaranteed to drop better treasures — far more rewarding than the Naga.
Ryen instinctively looked up at the sky, only to remember that the Twilight Forest had no concept of time.
That meant he had no idea how long they'd actually been here.
After thinking it over, he said,
"Alright. Let's gather some raven feathers and torchberries to make a magic map, craft a few Twilight Forest weapons, and then we'll go after the Twilight Lich."
Right there, Ryen crafted a workbench.
After a pause, he said softly:
"First, let's make some Ice Swords and Ice Bows, plus a few Frost Bombs, and also an Ender Bow and a Tracking Bow. We've been here long enough — it's about time we crafted something decent."
Hearing this, Tartaglia asked curiously,
"Just those? Not going to make any Fiery Swords?"
Ryen shook his head.
"The Fiery Sword needs Fiery Ingots, and those only drop from killing Twilight Ghasts. We haven't even found any yet.
Besides, a Fire enchantment can almost replace the Fiery Sword anyway — no need to bother."
Everyone nodded in agreement. Ningguang then asked,
"What materials do we need?"
"Let's start with the Ice Swords."
Ryen pulled out a bucket of water and looked at Tartaglia.
"Your boots have Frost Walker, right?"
Tartaglia nodded, and Ryen snapped his fingers.
"Perfect. Take this bucket of water, dig a hole, pour it in, then walk over it to freeze it into ice blocks.
Use a Silk Touch pickaxe to harvest them.
The Ice Sword is crafted from sticks and ice blocks."
Lisa blinked in surprise.
"That simple? Then… is the Ice Bow also just made with ice blocks?"
"No. The Ice Bow is crafted from four Frost Bombs." Ryen shook his head.
"A Frost Bomb is made from four ice blocks and one snowball. Speaking of which… did you bring any snowballs?"
"Ehe~!"
Venti winked playfully.
"Fun things like that? I always carry them around."
"You just like playing around…" Diluc muttered, but then added,
"Though this time, your playfulness actually comes in handy."
Everyone chuckled knowingly.
With Ryen's guidance, Ningguang and Lisa began crafting weapons.
Meanwhile, not far away, Tartaglia was repeatedly freezing water into ice and mining it.
Before long, everyone had both an Ice Sword and an Ice Bow in hand.
Aside from dragons, these were the first true ice-element weapons in the MC world — and everyone loved them.
For many, they were powerful tools that could significantly boost their combat ability.
The only drawback was that Ice Swords had low durability — they'd break after just a few uses.
But considering how easy they were to make, that weakness was acceptable.
The group regrouped, leaving the Naga Courtyard to continue their journey.
With the Naga slain, the fear it had brought had also dissipated.
Jean's mood had improved as well — though whether she'd still have nightmares tonight was another matter.
However, they had barely walked a short distance when Ryen's brows furrowed.
He suddenly turned to the flank, sensing something was wrong — as if some malicious presence was watching him.
"Ryen?" Ganyu called out in puzzlement.
Raising a hand for silence, Ryen stepped slowly toward a patch of bushes.
But before he could get far, a single, weightless sheet of paper floated silently toward him.
Ryen's pupils contracted — he immediately leapt back.
"Get back!"
