Genshin Impact: The Crit Archon

Chapter 42: Magic Codex

As Aether, Lisa, and Paimon wandered through the library, the dim candlelight cast a warm glow on the shelves filled with ancient tomes and manuscripts. Lisa led the way with purpose, her fingers gliding across the spines of books as she searched for something specific. Her usual flirtatious air had shifted to a more serious focus, and Aether found himself intrigued by her sudden change in demeanour.

Finally, they reached a secluded corner of the library, where Lisa stopped in front of a dusty, leather-bound book. She carefully pulled it from the shelf and placed it on a nearby table.

"This," Lisa began, dusting off the cover, "is the Mystic Codex of Mondstadt. It's an incredibly rare collection of ancient knowledge, but it's written in an old dialect that only a few people know how to read." She opened the book, revealing pages filled with intricate symbols and runes that seemed to hum with a faint glow.

Aether leaned over, examining the text. "Why show me this? Do you think I can help?"

Lisa gave him a sly smile. "You have a knack for surprising people, Aether. And given your connection to Teyvat, I thought you might have a hidden talent for understanding ancient languages." She handed him a small amulet engraved with the same runes in the book. "This should help you attune to the text."

Aether took the amulet, feeling a slight warmth radiate from it. As he focused on the symbols, a tingling sensation crept up his arm, and, to his surprise, the runes started to make sense. He squinted, reading the words aloud. "The stars shall guide the chosen to the veil that binds, and there lies the secret of Mondstadt's oldest mystery."

Lisa's eyes sparkled. "Precisely, cutie. This book is said to contain clues about an ancient artefact hidden somewhere in Mondstadt, an artefact that's rumoured to hold immense power. I suspect it has something to do with the Archon's powers or even Celestia."

Paimon hovered over his shoulder, eyes wide. "Paimon has a feeling this is gonna lead to something big! So, what do we do next?"

Aether closed the book and looked at Lisa. "So, are we going artefact hunting?"

Lisa nodded, her smile widening. "I knew you'd be up for it. Besides, who better to join me in uncovering ancient secrets than Mondstadt's very own 'Golden Knight'?"

Aether couldn't help but grin. "Alright, let's do this."

The trio spent the rest of the evening gathering supplies and making plans. Lisa used her knowledge of Mondstadt's history to map out possible locations based on clues from the Mystic Codex. By nightfall, they were ready, setting out from the library under the cover of darkness, heading towards the first marked location: an ancient ruin deep within Wolvendom.

As they ventured into the dense forest, the air grew colder, and an eerie silence surrounded them. The moonlight barely pierced the canopy, casting shadows that danced in their path. Aether could sense the tension in the air as if something powerful awaited them in the heart of the ruins.

Finally, they reached the ancient stone structure, its entrance partially hidden by vines and moss. Lisa raised her hand, using her vision to create a small spark, illuminating the path ahead. As they moved deeper into the ruins, the walls were lined with symbols that matched those in the codex.

Suddenly, a faint, pulsing light caught their attention. They rounded a corner to find a stone pedestal, upon which rested a crystal orb, glowing softly with a warm, golden light.

Lisa took a sharp breath. "This… this is it! The Artefact of the Archon."

Aether stepped forward, mesmerised by the orb's glow. But as he reached out to touch it, a low rumble shook the ruins, and shadows began to coalesce around them, forming into spectral shapes.

Paimon shrieked, "Uh, guys? I think we've got company!"

Aether drew his sword, positioning himself protectively in front of Lisa and Paimon. The spectres circled them, their ghostly eyes fixed on the artefact.

Lisa raised her hand, summoning a surge of Electro energy. "Looks like this artefact isn't as unguarded as we thought. Ready to show these guardians why they call you the Golden Knight, Aether?"

With a nod, Aether charged forward, his sword gleaming in the dim light. The battle was intense as he and Lisa combined their powers, fighting off the spectral guardians with swift, coordinated strikes. Paimon cheered them on from above, offering encouragement.

Finally, with a final strike, Aether dispelled the last of the spectres. The ruins fell silent once more, and the artefact's glow seemed to intensify as if recognising his victory.

Aether carefully reached out, lifting the orb from the pedestal. The moment his fingers touched it, a warm energy surged through him, filling him with a sense of purpose and power.

Lisa placed a hand on his shoulder, her expression soft and proud. "You did it, Aether. You're one step closer to uncovering the truth of Teyvat."

He nodded, his grip on the artefact firm. "Thank you, Lisa. For trusting me with this."

Aether then looked at the walls of the Ruins, as he looked at the symbols and even the text

Lisa looked at the walls. "These letters are khaenri'ah"

Aether then blocked something trying to hit Aether, as he looked at an Abyss mage

Lisa looked at the Abyss mage. "Will looks like we have a bit of a problem"

Aether covers his sword with wind as his Crit system Actived. "Not much of problem for both us".

[ Crit System activeted, Wind Blade has been actived, each slach of the sword will have 1 million times multiplier]

Aether then jumped up. "Take this Hydro Abyss mage"

[ Host has crit on Speed, 1 million times Crit effect has been hit, Multiplying speed and, Host has Crit on Attack million times Crit effect has been hit, Multiplying Attack, 1 Milion Crit effect has beenn actived ]

Aether's movements became a blur as the Crit System activated at full power. In an instant, he felt a surge of strength beyond anything he'd experienced before. His sword glowed with intense energy, and each swing seemed to cut through the very air itself, leaving trails of wind swirling in his wake.

The Hydro Abyss Mage barely had time to react as Aether closed the distance with blinding speed. His first strike sliced through the mage's shield, shattering it like glass, while the second sent the creature flying back, tumbling against the walls of the ancient ruin.

Lisa watched, amazed, as Aether moved with a precision and force that seemed otherworldly. "Impressive, Cutie! You've certainly outdone yourself this time."

The Abyss Mage struggled to its feet, clearly weakened but still determined to fight. Summoning a watery barrier around itself, it began to chant, conjuring a wave of Hydro energy to lash out at Aether.

However, Aether was already one step ahead. With his Crit System still activated, he leapt forward, his speed amplified a millionfold, and sliced through the wave, dissipating it instantly. He then delivered a final strike, his blade glowing with the power of Anemo as he unleashed a devastating wind-infused slash. The Abyss Mage let out a final cry before it disintegrated, leaving behind a small, glowing crystal.

Aether landed gracefully, his breathing steady as the energy of the Crit System subsided. He turned to Lisa, who was still watching him with an impressed smile.

"That was incredible, Aether," she said, stepping closer. "Whatever power you've unlocked, it's clear that you're becoming even stronger."

Aether nodded, catching his breath. "Thanks, Lisa. I'm still getting used to it, but it definitely came in handy."

As he pocketed the crystal, he glanced back at the Khaenri'ah symbols on the wall. The letters seemed to glow faintly, almost as if responding to the energy he had just unleashed. He traced the symbols with his fingers, feeling a strange connection to them. It was as if they were calling to him, urging him to uncover their secrets.

Lisa approached, her eyes fixed on the writing. "These ruins hold secrets that only a few can understand. Khaenri'ah… it's a forbidden history, hidden from most of the world. But you—" She paused, looking at him with a hint of admiration. "You might just be the one to uncover its mysteries."

Aether nodded, his gaze fixed on the symbols. "If this is part of my path, then I'll do everything I can to understand it. Whatever lies ahead, I'm ready."

With one final glance at the ruins, he and Lisa turned to leave, their journey taking them deeper into the unknown. Aether knew that this was only the beginning—his connection to Teyvat, to Khaenri'ah, and to whatever powers lay hidden within him was stronger than ever. And alongside allies like Lisa, he felt ready to face whatever challenges awaited.

Later that day, as Aether was in his room, with Eula and Luminis.

Aether looked at Eula. "So what was your day like today darling".

Eula just layed her head on his shoulder. "It was ok, maybe I accidentally pissed some of the new requirement's in my Division, do to my will um Venges talk"

Luminis looked at Aether. "You should have seen it papa, so what was your day like"

Aether golped, as he spoke. "I went on a date"

Eula just looked at and spoke. "With Amber".

Aether just chuckled and then he spoke. "Will um it was Lisa".

Eula just looked at Lisa, and then notice a hickey on Aether neck. "Oh really".

Aether just looked at and raised his hand. "Wow, wow, remember your the one who agreed to the Harem".

Eula crossed her arms, raising an eyebrow as a playful smirk crept onto her face. "Oh, I remember quite well," she replied, leaning in closer. "Just didn't think you'd be so quick to go after our librarian friend."

Aether chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his neck. "Well… Lisa has her ways, you know."

Luminis burst into laughter, covering her mouth. "Papa, you're really going for it, aren't you? I think it's sweet. Besides, if Lisa's happy, and you're happy, then that's all that matters, right?"

Eula sighed, her smirk softening. "True enough. I suppose I'll just have to keep an eye on you to make sure none of these other ladies sweep you off completely." She nudged him playfully. "Just remember, Aether, you're mine too."

Aether grinned, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. "Wouldn't have it any other way, Eula."

Just then, there was a soft knock on the door. Paimon peeked in, floating inside with a cheeky grin. "Guess who heard everything? Paimon did! And she thinks you're becoming quite the ladies' man, Aether!"

Aether sighed, laughing as he shook his head. "Paimon, don't start spreading rumours, okay?"

Paimon giggled, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "No promises! But anyway, aren't we going on another adventure tomorrow? Better rest up, lover boy. Who knows who'll be next to steal your heart!"

As Paimon floated back out, Eula snuggled closer, and Luminis leaned on his other side, the three of them basking in the calm moment. Despite the teasing and playful rivalry, Aether felt a warmth fill him, knowing he had a family—one he'd fought hard to protect, and one that was bound to grow even stronger.

Aether then looked at Eula. "How can I make it up too you"

Eula looked at Aether, as she smirked. "Why not shows some good time (Sex)".

Aether just looked and what Eula was implying went over his head. "Sure we can go on a date tomorrow"

Eula chuckled, clearly amused by Aether's innocence. She reached out, patting his cheek with a smile. "You're too pure for your own good sometimes, Aether," she teased.

Luminis, watching the exchange, covered a laugh. "Papa, I think Mama's looking for a little more than just a simple date."

Aether blinked, finally catching on as a slight blush crept over his cheeks. "Oh… well, I… uh…"

Eula chuckled, leaning in close and resting her hand on his shoulder. "Relax, Aether. I was just teasing you." She smiled warmly, softening her playful tone. "But I'd love a date. Something just for us, away from all the responsibilities."

Aether smiled, finally relaxing as he took her hand. "I'd like that too. Somewhere special, just the two of us."

Eula's eyes sparkled as she nodded. "Then it's a date," she said, squeezing his hand gently. "But remember, next time, I might not be so patient."

Aether chuckled, nodding. "Understood. I'll make sure it's a day you won't forget."

Eula then looked at Luminis. "Now where do we keep him"

Luminis looked back at Eula. "What do you mens Mama"

Aether thought for a bit. "Maybe Issei... Yeah no how Amber"

Eula looked at him. "Our other option are, Diluc, Kaeya, Jean and Lisa.... Yeah Amber is the best Options, plus she is also in your harem so Luminis is kinda like her son".

Aether chuckled, a bit overwhelmed by the logistics they were discussing. "It's settled, then. Amber it is," he said with a grin, relieved that they'd found a solution.

Eula gave him a satisfied nod, crossing her arms. "Amber's perfect for this. She's dependable, and Luminis adores her."

Luminis, looking excited, nodded vigorously. "Mama Eula, Papa, I think Amber will be a great guardian! Plus, she always makes everything fun!"

Eula patted Luminis's shoulder with a proud smile. "Then we'll arrange for you to stay with her whenever we're off on official duties or need a little alone time."

Aether smiled at both of them, the warmth in his gaze unmistakable. "I'm glad we've got a plan for everything. And… I think we all deserve a little relaxation and happiness."

Eula gave him a playful nudge. "Just remember, Aether, you've made quite a promise for tomorrow's date. You'd better make it unforgettable."

"Count on it," Aether replied with a soft smile, leaning over to plant a gentle kiss on Eula's forehead.
