Chapter 228: Chapter 228

Under the blue sky, a massive Sea King leaped from the ocean.

"Roar\~!"

Its deep, resonant cry echoed across the sea, drawing the excited attention of Klee and her companions, who had just managed to convince Tina to let them come out. Their mouths watered at the sight.

Splash!

A thunderous crash followed as the creature plunged back into the water, sending huge sprays into the air.

"Quick! The big fish is getting away!"

Klee waved her little hand energetically, her clear voice carried by the wind. The group of children dashed toward the spot where the Sea King had vanished beneath the waves.

Nearby, a large naval warship had anchored to observe the commotion.

"Huff\~"

Smoker removed the cigar from his mouth, exhaling a long plume of smoke. Leaning against the ship's railing, he watched the children gleefully running along the ocean surface.

"Are those the kids accompanying the reinforcements?" he asked, turning to the tall woman who had stopped him earlier.

Smoker raised an eyebrow and chuckled. "I never thought I'd see the day Tina played babysitter. Looks like my trip back from the East Blue was worth it."

Resting her chin in her hand, Tina smiled fondly as she watched Klee and her friends playing. "Ah, wouldn't it be wonderful if Klee, Xiaohei, Qiqi, and Riri were my kids? They're just too adorable!"

Beaming with a mix of happiness and wistfulness, Tina recounted her recent days looking after the four children.

"Smoker, did you know? It's the first time I've found children so irresistibly cute! Klee's so lively. In just a few days, she's led her friends to explore every accessible part of Marineford. Even Vice Admiral Garp and Admiral Kizaru adore her."

"Qiqi is more reserved, but that doesn't mean she doesn't like you. Her stoicism is due to her condition, but she's warm on the inside. Even Aokiji enjoys taking her out for bike rides, though she often declines, saying she needs to take care of her younger siblings."

"Xiaohei is a bit mischievous but always saves his favorite things for Riri. He's a wonderful older brother and very filial, always reserving something special for his master."

"As for Riri, she's a little shy but incredibly quick to learn. She's a genius and impeccably well-mannered, thanks to her family's guidance. Even Might Guynu, who's usually stern and intimidating, softens around her, though his attempts at smiling are more terrifying than comforting."

Tina waved her arms animatedly, her face alight with joy as she recounted the children's adventures. But her expression soon dimmed.

With a sigh, Tina glanced at the naval ships gathering on the horizon. "When this war ends, Klee and her friends will have to go back."

"They said they're from different worlds and only came here to help Admiral Kizaru."

"I wonder if I'll ever see these little ones again?"

"Different worlds?!" Smoker squinted, pulling out a well-worn book from his coat. "Are you saying they come from the world described in this book?"

Tina nodded, then shook her head. "That's one of their worlds, but Klee and her friends each come from different ones."

"Different worlds," Smoker mused, exhaling a plume of smoke as he watched Klee holding a plush toy. "It's both thrilling and daunting to know there are worlds beyond our own."

He tapped the book thoughtfully. "So, is this war with the Whitebeard Pirates, or is it about this book?"

Before Tina could answer, a commotion erupted on the water. Klee, Riri, and Xiaohei excitedly hurled their bouncing bombs into the ocean.

The resulting explosions sent golden light streaming from the depths, and the sea boiled like a cauldron. Waves rocked the warship as Smoker gripped the railing tightly, staring at Tina in shock.

"What's with these kids?!" he exclaimed.

Nearby, a female marine with a sword hurried over. "Colonel Smoker! Are we under attack?"

"Of course not! We're right next to Marineford!" Smoker snapped, interrupting Tashigi's alarmed inquiry. He frowned at the shadows surfacing from the water. "Damn it. These kids have stirred up the Sea Kings!"

White smoke rose around Smoker as he turned to Tina, who was pulling on her gloves. "By the way, Tina, why did you bring these kids out here?"

"Haha," Tina chuckled nervously, black spears materializing above her as she focused on the massive shapes emerging near the children. "Klee said they wanted to fish. I didn't expect them to end up here."

"Well, they sure caught some big ones," Smoker muttered as he leapt over the railing. Tina followed suit, her figure vanishing with a sonic boom.

In the sky, Smoker and Tina raced toward the children. Meanwhile, Klee turned to wave cheerfully as Tina's voice reached her.

"Tina-sis, what did you say? Klee didn't catch that," she called out, bouncing with excitement.

"Run! Look behind you!" Tina shouted.

"Huh?" Klee tilted her head quizzically before turning around. Four enormous Sea Kings had surfaced, surrounding them.

"Oh! The big fish are here!" she exclaimed.

With a thunderous roar, the Sea Kings, spurred by the earlier explosions, lunged at the small figures before them.

Clenching her tiny fists, Klee's eyes sparkled. "The big fish are eager for Klee to catch them?"

"Alright, let's go!"

With a small jump, Klee appeared before one of the massive Sea Kings. Her fist shot forward.

Bang!

The force of her punch sent shockwaves through the air. As the Sea King fell unconscious, Klee placed her hands on her hips and nodded in satisfaction.

Turning to Tina, who had frozen mid-air, Klee raised her little hand in a victory sign. "Hehe!"
