GENE EVOLUTION: MY PETS ARE DIVINE

The cloaked individual continues to point his sticks at her, ticking her off.

She decides to make a move, and with incredible speed, she destroys the two sticks with her sword.

Unfortunately for her, this action seems to have triggered the cloaked individual, who quickly attacks her, not caring if the difference between them is so wide.

"What!?" The girl was startled.

She then became furious.

She sheathed her sword and slapped the cloaked individual away.

The power behind her slap made the cloaked individual fly away, and he landed on the water.

Meanwhile, Leon is running towards the location of his pet, and suddenly, he freezes.

He is in a state of disbelief because of the notification that the system has given him.

[Congratulations! Due to the soul blessing, Cleo's Clone, host, has obtained a soul blessing! ]

He is pleasantly surprised.

The Big Bill Ducks might just be a normal-grade genetic creature, but their soul blessings are incredible useful.

According to some lucky individuals, their blessing is a shield.

"Let us see just how tough their shield blessing is."

Excitedly, he checks the information on the soul blessing, but after reading it, he blanks out.

"What?! How did my pet manage to obtain this!? I thought that I ordered it to hunt Big Bill Ducks, not some fish!"

He is dumbfounded by the situation.

He then read the information once again and finally realised that he was not hallucinating.

After thinking about it, he quickly came up with an idea of how his pet managed to obtain such soul blessings.

"F*ck! He is thrown into the river!"

His speed increases, he might be exhausted, but he is not willing to pay the requirement to revive his clone, especially if it's death is from normal-grade genetic creatures.

When he finally arrives there, he is stunned by the scene.

A girl is trying to save his clone by giving him CPR and pumping his chest.

This is obviously useless, as his clone is not a living being.

Knowing that the girl was only trying to help, he decided to help her.

Unfortunately, when he got closer, he heard the girl's cries.

"Please! Please breathe! I did not know that you do not know how to swim! It was just an accident! You attacked me first!"

Leon is speechless by her incessant rambling, seeing that she is not stopping, he coughs out loud, letting her know about his presence.

Who would have thought that the girl is so focused on the monster pet that she ignores him?

Realising that a subtle approach will not stop her, Leon can only loudly say. "Hello, are you alright!?"

The girl stops and looks at him, tears are threatening to fall down her eyes.

Upon seeing this, he smiles bitterly.

He expected everyone in this realm to be cold-hearted, but it seems that there are still some innocent humans present in the realm.

"Ahem, that is my friend that you are trying to save, do not worry, he is still alive, just get off of him, he is unable to say anything as he is mute and a little bit deaf." Hearing this, the girl was startled.

"So that is why his reaction was so strange, poor thing."

"To be born with such disadvantage, no wonder you risk hunting such aggressive creatures just to grow stronger." She pats the face of the clone.

"Ahem! Lady, he is not going to live if you continue to stay atop of him."

Realising that his clone is starting to recover, he quickly informs the girl to get off of it.

The girl blushes as she stands up and cleans her armour.

She bows to him and says. "Please apologise to your friend on my behalf, there are still some things that I need to deal with."

Before Leon could say anything, she immediately left, it was as if she were escaping.

Seeing this, the former could not help but laugh.

"As expected, not all humans in this world are scary, even if it were just a minority of them, there are kind individuals that exist."

His pet stands up and grabs one of the corpses of the Big Bill Ducks and presents it to him.

He smiles and cooks it.

Looking at the other corpses just scattered around, he was quickly reminded of his new soul blessing.

"System, does my new pet truly have the ability to evolve naturally just by eating?"

This is something that shocked him after reading the information about his new soul blessing.

[Negative, only if it has the Gemstone of Life will its specialty undergo a great change.]

He was slightly disappointed by this answer.

"Can you transfer the ownership of the Gemstone of Life without harming the previous holder?" He asks.

Since there is only one gem, he has to share it.

"Yes and no, if the host puts the new soul blessing into your soul slot, then the system is able to transfer the Gemstone of Life without any issue."

"If that is the case, then I want to put the new soul blessing in my slot, it might not be useful on land, but I can use it as bait and scout in the water."

Instantly, he feels some sort of connection towards a foreign item.

He smiles and summons his new pet in the river next to them.

A stupid looking fish appears, it is extremely small.

Upon seeing this, his eyebrow cannot help but twitch.

He sighs and consoles himself, repeating the word evolution in his mind.

He starts feeding it the extra corpses that he will not need after obtaining ten more normal genetic enhancements.

After finishing his meal, he once again feels the power coursing through his body.

He smiles in content after experiencing such a thing, clenching his fist.

He punches and can see the obvious increase in his power.

"As expected, the sensation of my strength increasing rapidly is thoroughly wonderful, unfortunately, I do not have enough experience to wield it successfully."

He sighs, thinking that he is just like a child with the strength of an adult.

Strong but weak at the same time, thinking about this, he quickly realised that just giving his task to his pet will continue to deteriorate, in the long run, this will only weaken his foundation.

"That's it! I need to hunt genetic creatures together with my pet and also feed this gluttonous beast."

He states as he sees his other pet eating the dozen or so corpses of the Big Bill Ducks.

It is shocking for him to see such a tiny creature capable of eating something ten times bigger than it in a matter of seconds.

Not to mention, it does not even leave any bones from its food, it starts growing in size, but according to its information, it is still in its unawakened form.

Suddenly, he is assaulted by great pain after taking a couple of steps.

It feels like his body is being ripped apart, and the pain that he is feeling causes him to scream like a butchered pig.

He starts rolling.

The system is trying to find what is happening, but it is also unaware of the current reason for his condition.

Only after scanning his body multiple times did it find the main point.

Just as he is scrubbing the black blob out of his body, two individuals arrive and see him butt naked; one of them screams loudly, startling him.

"Who!?" He is shocked.

He immediately dives down to protect himself, peeking his head out of the window.

He is surprised to see that it was the girl from earlier.

"What the heck are you doing being naked in the wild!?"

She screams loudly while covering her eyes with her hands, looking extremely cute.

His face is beet red because of shame.

"So you have undergone a body cleansing, it seems that you have broken through a level of your body tempering technique."

States the other individual, it was a girl that seems to have similar features to the first girl.

She looks more mature and refined compared to the first girl.

She smiles and looks at Cleo's clone, which was standing there silently.

It seems that she is interested in it.

"What is this fellow? He seems to have the same aura as that of a blessing."

Leon's heart constricts after hearing this, and without hesitation, he comes out of the water, shocking the first girl.

Unfortunately, the person that he wants to shock is just calmly looking at him, not caring about his naked body or his swinging weapon.

'Sh*t! I want to use this method to get the attention of Cleo's Clone, but it seems that she is similar to my sister.' Thinking about this, he sighs.

Taking the cloak, he let the two girls see the true appearance of his pet.

The two were shocked to see such a similar appearance between the two of them.

Leon starts speaking. "Sorry, my friend is quite shy, he is both deaf and mute. With such a condition, he has developed an inferiority complex, please do not stare at him that much."

The second girl smiles, but her shining eyes give it away, she is still interested in the existence of Cleo's clone.

"Uhm, is there anything that you ladies want?"

Seeing that the two are not leaving and are still standing there, watching them with different expressions.

"I am here to apologise on my sister's behalf. If there is anything you want, as long as it is not complicated or difficult, I am willing to do it."

Leon's eyes light up, and he quickly says. "I want to trade my soul blessings with yours, do not worry, I am not asking for a lot."

He calms himself down and added. "I just want the useless monster pets. My friend here does not have anyone but himself, I cannot always be there for him, so I wish to give him a pet to be his companion in his arduous journey through life."

Both girls were surprised by his request.

The second girl chuckles and looks at her sister, it seems that she is stating something from her stare.

Knowing what her sister meant, she frowns but still complies.

She summons a cute kitty, but it seems to be quite clumsy.

Leon is a bit disappointed, but he is still willing to take it; unfortunately, he does not have any extra soul blessings as of right now.

He bows and raises his head. "I am sorry, but currently I have no extra soul blessing. Will you grace us with the location of your stronghold?"

He can actually request the same thing from his sister, but he knows that this will only make his life easier.

He wants to temper himself, which is why he is not willing to ask a favour of his new family before he is certain that he is no longer lagging behind most youths in this world.

"You can find us on Marble Stronghold." Playfully stated by the first girl, the second girl looks at her sister and shakes her head.

She cannot help but think. 'To think that three innocent souls would meet each other in such a savage and brutal world, it is quite humorous how fate works.

'At least I am now certain that this guy does not harbour any dangerous thoughts towards my sister.' She is inwardly relieved.
