Chapter 284 Combined Attack

The Resentful Demon didn't dodge, charging straight at Li Ang. A brighter green light erupted from the green worm in his embrace.

Li Ang was listening to the "Little Knife Club Overture." His Triangular Bone Tipped Spear inexplicably tilted to one side as he advanced towards Ash. Fortunately, Li Ang had excellent control over his body. He managed to stop in the nick of time and spun around. He planted his Triangular Bone Tipped Spear diagonally into the ground, its blade pulsing with strong Ripple Energy and pointing directly at the Resentful Demon.

The Resentful Demon's figure came to an abrupt halt, narrowly avoiding being pierced. He quickly raised his arms and clapped his palms together. His sharp, white, bony fingers converged, pointing diagonally towards Li Ang.

Ash made a split-second decision. He bent over, plunging his arms—now transforming into ash—into the ground. A dust barrier rose from beneath him, forming a Pyramid that instantly enveloped both him and Li Ang.

After a brief delay, a relentless green fire, akin to a Flamethrower, burst forth from the Resentful Demon's palms, completely enveloping the spot where Li Ang and Ash had just been.

The temperature in the room surged dramatically. Wu Mu, standing at a distance, felt his hair curl and burn. He couldn't open his eyes, and his throat and nasal passages stung painfully, as if he were immersed in a pit of fire.

THUD, THUD.

Miss Chai appeared silently behind the Resentful Demon. She swiftly delivered a right hook towards his head.

No one… The Resentful Demon sneered inwardly, but before the thought can could even fully form, Miss Chai's Iron Fist had already landed squarely on his head.

BANG—

With overwhelming force, the Resentful Demon's flame attack was instantly interrupted. His body flipped and flew out, spinning countless times in the air like a gymnast.

What... the hell? Still tumbling through the air, the Resentful Demon was utterly bewildered. The hood he wore had been slightly petrified from the collision with Miss Chai's Iron Fist. Driven by inertia, a small, semi-petrified fragment of the hood flew off, revealing a pale, inhuman skull beneath.

Stunned, the Resentful Demon was hurriedly informed by Gulu Lugu through a mental link that "Controlled Hostility" had been active the entire time.

Then why did she still hit me? The Resentful Demon didn't have time to ponder. Just before crashing into a wall, he quickly adjusted his posture, slightly bending his knees to cushion the impact. He landed neatly on a subway station beam, parallel to the ground. In his arms, Gulu Lugu trembled with residual fear, shrinking into an even smaller ball.

WHOOSH—

A flash of fire erupted and vanished. The broken piece of the hood was consumed by flames and quickly regenerated to its original state.

His Damaged Cape was no ordinary item. Moreover, Miss Chai had been in a hurry to save Li Ang and had only intended to force the Resentful Demon back as quickly as possible. Thus, her punch hadn't been significantly destructive.

The Resentful Demon stood on a subway station pillar, looking at the expressionless Miss Chai. Her left palm, clad in Red Armor, showed a spiderweb of dense cracks. Pieces occasionally flaked off, turning to dust as they hit the ground. "You," he said hoarsely, "are quite interesting."

Miss Chai's punch had landed because she had extended her left palm and then struck that palm with her right fist. This method of indirect attack allowed her to bypass the enemy skill's hostility distortion.

"Too bad. How much longer can you hold up?" the Resentful Demon said coldly. "Before you kill me, you'll kill yourself first."

"Not necessarily," Li Ang's voice echoed from within the semi-crystallized dust Pyramid. As the Pyramid shattered and collapsed, Li Ang and Ash appeared before everyone. Li Ang was unscathed except for some burn marks.

"Your skill must confuse an enemy's perception, preventing them from attacking you directly," Li Ang said, shaking his cape indifferently. "But what if I attack someone else?"

Before his words had died away, Li Ang gripped the Triangular Bone Tipped Spear and darted out once more, Miss Chai by his side.

A vague unease grew in the Resentful Demon's heart, and his figure flickered as he dodged to the side.

However, other players were present. Wu Mu brought his hands together, a sharp light blooming in his eyes. He formed a diamond shape with his thumbs and forefingers, creating a semi-transparent vertical barrier that extended for tens of meters in the direction the Resentful Demon was retreating.

Still retreating, the Resentful Demon casually pointed behind him at the barrier. A shower of fire erupted, melting a gap large enough for him to pass through. But at that moment, Chu Yin, who had freed her hands, suddenly raised the microphone and screamed into it, "AHHHHHH!"

Chu Yin possessed a skill called "I'm Crazy About Singing," similar to "No One Can Defeat Me In My BGM." Its Special Effect involved singing different notes to apply various buffs or debuffs to allies or enemies. This skill required the player to neither be attacking nor be attacked, which was why she had only now been able to use it to debuff the enemy.

Chu Yin's somewhat off-key voice reverberated through the spacious subway station. The Resentful Demon's speed visibly decreased, allowing Li Ang and Miss Chai to catch up.

"Die!" Miss Chai shouted, repeating her previous technique. She flashed behind the Resentful Demon and unleashed her Iron Fist skill, aiming for Li Ang. Since the Resentful Demon was between them, the punch was actually heading towards his waist.

At the critical moment, Gulu Lugu hastily unleashed a psychic skill. It momentarily stunned the Qinge Armor, allowing the Resentful Demon to twist his body and narrowly avoid the punch.

SWOOSH—

Another fierce gust of wind announced Li Ang's attack. Holding the Triangular Bone Tipped Spear, he viciously stabbed towards Miss Chai's hair. However, since Miss Chai was positioned just behind the Resentful Demon, the spear was actually aimed at the Resentful Demon's head.

In his haste, the Resentful Demon had no choice but to raise his arm to block the Triangular Bone Tipped Spear. With a crisp SNAP, his pale arm bone was cleanly and brutally shattered by the spear's broken tip. Half of the arm bone sagged limply from his Damaged Cape, scattering countless bone fragments.

A flash of firelight, and the Resentful Demon's wounds healed once again. He whipped his head around like an owl, his body remaining still, and glared furiously at Miss Chai from beneath his hood. "Still looking?!"

Behind the Resentful Demon, Miss Chai swung her fists again, her multiple punches creating countless afterimages. In front of him, Li Ang wielded his long spear—thrusting, stabbing, lifting, slashing, and smashing—forcing the Resentful Demon towards the corner of the barrier Wu Mu had created.

While attacking, Li Ang laughed heartily. "This is the Flirtatious Sword, passed down from our Batman Sect's founding master, the Green-winged Bat King Wei Yixiao! It emphasizes cooperation between two people, intimacy, and unity. It blends hardness with softness, weaving endless warmth amidst the killing intent. With soul-capturing, flirtatious glances, it causes the opponent to die without even perceiving the blow!"

What the hell does the Green-winged Bat King have to do with Batman? What on earth is this Flirtatious Sword? And isn't he holding a spear, not a sword? Ash internally ranted, but had to admit that Li Ang's tactics were indeed effective, successfully suppressing the Resentful Demon.
