Game of Dragonborn.

Chapter 130 - The First Allied House.

[Chapter Size: 2100 Words.]

Third Person POV.

Bear Sland.

...

...

"It's quite simple what I want. I want House Mormont to kneel before House Targaryen. And join the war with me, so we can deal with our enemies," Jon spoke calmly.

He had entered the castle after eating bread and salt, not because he needed protection, but rather so House Mormont would be protected from him.

"We will not kneel to any king whose name is not Stark," the girl said directly, while Jon gave a slight smile.

"Tell me... As much as I take no pride in it, there aren't many Starks left, besides my uncle and my cousins, one of whom is still in King's Landing married to a Lannister at this very moment." Jon said.

"We don't know if Robb is dead. There's no confirmation, no body, just like with my mother and sisters," Lyanna said.

"Lyanna," Jon murmured. "You holding onto those words is somewhat contradictory when you're speaking about me. After all, my mother was named Lyanna, whom your mother honored by naming you. And she was a Stark. Tell me then, Stark blood runs through my veins, would I not be a Stark in your eyes?" Jon asked, raising an eyebrow, while the girl seemed unsure how to answer, looking both at the master-at-arms and the castle maester.

"My lady, surely he is a Stark. But even so, we've heard so many things... they say you're as cruel as a madman, that you massacred entire castles and committed all sorts of atrocities with sorcery in King's Landing, and also what you did at the Citadel," the maester murmured with an aged voice.

"I was expecting that," Jon said without surprise that his actions could, indeed, be associated with the mad king, as another Targaryen gone mad... but with much more potential, of course.

"I'm avenging all those who betrayed and committed atrocities against House Targaryen. It doesn't matter how cruel you think I am acting, or even if you associate me with the mad king. But when all is done, I will be putting my family back on the Iron Throne, and all enemies who betrayed House Targaryen will pay, one way or another. I will have friends who will be well rewarded when we return to the throne, while my enemies will be in ruins.

The question is: will House Mormont want to be our friend?" Jon asked in a calm tone.

"But you expect us to fight at your side, along with wildlings? Our men will never accept such a thing," the master-at-arms said in a serious but cautious tone.

"Free folk. Call them free folk, not wildlings," Jon warned. "And those same 'wildlings' you're referring to just saved all your asses in this castle. Remember that well."

"We've already lost so much. We can't just send more men to die fighting your war in the south..." the girl murmured, though her inexperience was clear in her words.

"It's your decision. Your choice. But remember that anything you decide will have consequences," Jon said clearly. "Kneel before House Targaryen and join us. We will rid the North of the ironborn and the Boltons, who betrayed Robb Stark along with the Lannisters and the Freys."

"Then we'll head south. We'll fight the Freys and the Lannisters. If your mother was killed at the Red Wedding, along with your sisters, this is your chance to take revenge. After all, the North remembers." Jon said.

The girl seemed thoughtful before directly asking him something that had been on her mind.

"What will happen to House Stark? From what I've seen, you hate the Starks. I still don't understand why, since they didn't save you from the king for being Rhaegar's son?" the girl asked as she met Jon's piercing gaze, immediately looking away.

He noticed that and sighed.

"I don't intend to take House Stark out of the leadership of the North. In the end, it's my mother's family. I won't destroy her blood. As much as I don't like my uncle, I have my issues with him. You don't understand because none of you know what happened in Winterfell when I was a child. And, at the same time, I've already saved him in King's Landing, clearing the debt I had with him. But still, I have to see who survived from the Stark family to place in command of the North after all this mess."

"But be aware that there will be some changes. Like the Gift — I will be giving it to the free folk," he said, while the master-at-arms and the castle maester immediately raised their eyebrows.

"You intend to give that land to them?"

"Yes. But we'll talk about that in the future. After all, even though we've already taken the Iron Throne when we conquered King's Landing, the war isn't over. And there are things coming from north of the Wall, that have slept for thousands of years and are now returning to turn the world into a vast graveyard. But that's a story for another time."

"What I want is your answer, Lyanna Mormont. I will give you some time to think. I'll now check on my men, since there are many women and other slaves who were being transported to Pyke and the other islands when we took the ships and destroyed camps. We'll be bringing them here. You must take responsibility for them while we finish hunting down all the ironborn still on the island," Jon said, while the girl only nodded.

He headed out without anyone stopping him, mounting a horse he had taken earlier, along with his wolves, preparing to advance outside.

His dragon, Winter, was still hunting for any sign of the ironborn, as he entered her mind for a moment.

He was somewhat thoughtful about what to do, until he saw the tree with red leaves in the courtyard, inside the castle, and dismounted again, heading toward it while people watched curiously.

Jon wanted to test something before leaving. As much as he wasn't faithful to the old gods, he still knew there was great mysticism in them, even capable of invoking magical forces — one of the few that truly existed in this world.

Magic was not completely extinct, and there was no human being, as far as he knew, besides that Red God's witch, with magic like his — though hers was insignificant. Jon had found no other living being besides his dragon who was itself a source of magic. The magic in this world came from heart trees, rituals, and his dragons as far as he knew. They were sources of magic.

That's why he connected with that tree, touching its face as he began to release his power related to the blood of the First Men.

Quickly, his eyes turned white, and all the animals that accompanied him seemed restless, sensing his presence expanding.

Jon was practically connecting with the entire island.

Searching through animals, he couldn't do much, but certainly his soul — after devouring many dragons as the dragonborn — was strong enough for a certain degree of control.

Quickly, several bears, as he scanned the island, began to blink. He started to take over their minds, giving a command that had never existed before.

Many bears had died since the invasion, but there were still hundreds, even thousands of them hidden in the forests, and Jon managed to connect with two hundred of them — something that should have been impossible for a warg.

But he was no ordinary warg, even if he hadn't developed his abilities much in this magic from his Stark blood.

The bears began blinking rapidly and moved through the forest. They all had only one command: "Massacre the ironborn."

Jon still maintained control of them even after leaving the tree, so they wouldn't attack any of the free folk.

He simply returned to his horse, mounted it for the second time and, without saying a word, charged toward the gate, with the crowd parting for him without understanding exactly what had just happened.

The gate was opened, and he left the castle, as his new hunt began.

Over the next hours, the ironborn found no rest. Those who had gone to the destroyed camps were found by one of the groups of the two hundred free folk, who guarded the place while keeping the hostages safe.

Later, they reached the other ships, landing and reporting the situation, while they began bringing all the hostages directly to Mormont stronghold, with Val leading the men.

The journey was strange, as screams began to echo from time to time with the fierce growls of bears — even seeing bears devouring ironborn, pinning them to the ground, dying horribly.

Jon released his giant wolves to hunt them too.

There had been more than 450 alive when he left Mormont castle, but that number started to decrease as the day went on.

Those who survived until nightfall didn't even manage to sleep, as the bears kept hunting them down one by one, alongside the wolves.

Jon stayed in the middle of the island just to keep control of the situation.

By the sunrise of the new day, all the ironborn had been completely annihilated.

No one was left alive, except the twenty who had helped navigate to the island.

Jon returned to the camp the free folk had set up in front of the stronghold.

After all, before nightfall, he had already delivered all the hostages to the Mormont walls.

They set up camp with the message that Jon would stay to finish off the last enemies in the forests and make the bears stop hunting everyone, so the free folk wouldn't be harmed.

He returned the next morning, as Winter made her appearance with Jon riding on her, flying over the stronghold.

Screams could be heard from the people below, seeing that great and powerful creature with white scales flying over the place.

As he acted, Jon landed, destroying some of the siege machines the ironborn had left at the site, while Winter roared.

Jon smiled and stroked the dragon's entire face before heading toward the camp, speaking with Val, as he took her, along with Ygritte, to a tent they had set up just to rest a bit after having sex.

Finally, he decided to hear Lady Mormont's answer.

He was with a small group and still wore ironborn armor, stained with blood, when he entered the main hall of Mormont stronghold.

"There are no more ironborn alive, except for a few we're sparing after they promised to help us," Jon said, as the girl nodded at his proposal.

"That's good... And about your proposal..." she murmured, seeming quite uneasy, while the maester and the master-at-arms still stood by her side, with nervous expressions.

If they had doubts before, certainly after seeing the dragon flying over the stronghold, it was a clear message: they could not defeat them, and with that power, Jon would be invincible — and the fear among them grew, not wanting to be Jon's enemies.

It wasn't hard to convince the men, but Lyanna, despite her uncertainty, yielded.

It was still doubtful to trust someone like Jon, with his direct disdain for the Starks, to whom House Mormont still held loyalty, and after all he had done in the south — but they had no choice.

"House Mormont kneels before House Targaryen. We recognize you as our king and will join our forces to fight the ironborn, the Boltons, and any enemy from the South," she said, stepping away from her small chair and approaching with hesitant steps.

She stood before Jon and knelt.

"So this is how kneelers do it?" Tormund muttered, wanting to laugh, but a look from Jon stopped him.

"Don't laugh at this, Tormund," Jon said, before turning back to Lady Mormont.

"Very well. I will accept House Mormont as a friend of House Targaryen, and we do not forget our friends. Rise, Lady Mormont. You are now our ally," Jon said.

In the end, he discussed a few more topics before saying he would now return to the mainland with the ships, to see what House Umber's response would be.

After all, Umber riders had approached the camp the previous day, looking for Jon.

The entire North was uncertain about him, and even the mountain clans' men were now watching the camp, as Jon kept his eyes on that region too, using birds to gather information directly with Mance — it wasn't hard to reveal himself as an animal for Mance to notice and quickly report how the camp was doing.

"Now let's depart. I want the North to tremble at the news of what happened on Bear Island. That with a thousand free folk, we won, killed more than four thousand ironborn, and showed no mercy to anyone.

I want them to start trembling the moment they hear we've arrived. That there will be no mercy," Jon said, starting to walk out, while everyone followed him.
