Galatic Overlord:I Can Copy Other's Ability

Chapter 50: 50:Choosing Master

She let her aura fade and slowly lowered herself onto the ground, her feet touching down lightly. She tilted her head at him. "Besides, the mechanical arm is holding up, isn't it?"

"How can you call this fine?" the man said with a bitter smile. He lifted the arm and clenched his fist. The metal groaned faintly, and small sparks cracked at the joints.

"It is falling apart every time you use your power."

Her eyes narrowed. But before she could speak, he continued in a firm tone. "Do not forget who you are. You are Evermist. The frontline warrior of this generation. The symbol of the Galactic Federation. If you fall, the Federation itself will suffer."

She gave a small laugh and shook her head. "Brother Ross, stop with those grand words. You make me sound like a statue in some hall."

For the first time, her cold face softened into a faint smile.

Ross chuckled lightly, though the weight in his eyes did not fade. He genuinely cares for his sister and the loss of her arm was weighing him down heavily.

"By the way," she asked as her expression turned serious again. "Did you look into what I asked you?"

Ross's eyes hardened. He let out a breath before answering. "You mean him? Do not worry. He reached his destination and is safe. But…" He paused, choosing his words carefully.

"I still do not acknowledge him. That suicidal method of his has caught too many eyes. He is already marked in the Federation's records. They have placed him on the psycho list of cadets to be nurtured specially."

"...."

The girl's expression froze.

Her pupils trembled slightly. The silence that followed was sharp, almost suffocating.

Then, all at once, her voice broke through the chamber like a blade.

"What did you say?" she screamed in shock letting out strong shockwaves , shaking the room around them.

...…..

Dein leaned against the wall as his eyes scanned Hex with concern.

"Did you find anything?" he asked, his voice low.

Hex gave a bitter smile. "Yeah. I figured out what happened," he said and explained the events step by step.

When Dein heard it, his jaw tightened. He clenched his fists, with anger rising in his chest.

"What is this bullshit…" he burst out, unable to keep calm. His tone was sharp enough to turn heads, and a few others in the room looked their way.

Realizing his outburst drew attention, Dein shut his lips quickly. He let out a heavy breath and lay back on his bed. "Most bullies who pick on others are idiots," he muttered, staring at the ceiling. "But the guy after you… he's different, isn't he?"

Hex slowly nodded. "Yeah. He's not acting like a fool. His move was quite planned."

The explanation Hex gave earlier had been clear and carefully thought out.

He knew the guy hadn't attacked him in a way that could cause serious harm. The kick had only been meant to trip him. But Hex's own reaction had been sharp and violent, breaking the guy's shin. That had shifted all the attention back onto him, as if he was the one at fault.

Hex sat there in silence, thinking about it. The bullying had been a joke to the others, just a way to mock him. But he could not laugh it off.

Not when his instincts told him the threat was real.

Both he and Dein let out a sigh almost at the same time. The room grew quiet for a moment.

"What are you going to do now?"Dein asked.

Hex pressed his lips and looked at others around. He massaged his throbbing temples and sighed.

'Haaa…Why can't I have a normal like others?'

"What can I do now?"Hex gave a self depreciating smile.

"I am gonna train and go stronger. As long as I keep on getting stronger,I am sure I can somehow manage."

Dein nodded his head,"That's a very good mindset you have.Just get stronger and crush your opponents to dust."

CRINGG!

The door slided down.

The class had just settled down when Amanda walked in, and this time she was not alone.

Beside her was a tall man with sharp eyes and a calm face. He carried himself with confidence, the kind that made everyone sit straighter in their seats. Amanda looked at the students and spoke clearly, "Listen carefully. From now on, you will not only train under me but also be guided by other instructors."

The man stepped forward and gave a polite nod to everyone. "My name is Instructor Varun," he said in a steady voice. "I will be working with some of you soon. Before that, I need to see where each of you stands." His eyes moved across the room, pausing briefly on Hex and then moving on.

Amanda folded her arms and added, "You will soon be paired with personal masters. For that to happen, we must first test your strengths, weaknesses, and how much you really know. This is not just about talent but about how well you can handle yourself."

Varun spoke again, his tone firm yet calm. "There will be sparring tests, but do not worry. These fights will happen in a special room, away from the eyes of others. It is meant to judge you fairly, not to humiliate anyone."

The class stayed silent, listening carefully. Some looked nervous while others seemed excited.

Amanda's voice softened a little as she gave advice. "When the time comes, you will be given a choice of masters. Choose wisely. Do not run after big names or fame. Not every teacher is right for every student, and if you make the wrong choice, you might find yourself stuck with regret, unable to move forward."

Her words carried weight, and the class understood she meant it seriously. A quiet tension filled the room as everyone thought about what lay ahead. Hex sat in his place, staring down at his hands, feeling the pressure of the moment sink in.
