FATE of DxD

Unwelcome Guest II

It was a day like any other in Kuoh town for Jun. He was discussing the group's next big endeavour and what they could do until then, both in terms of preparations and entertainment.

"So we're finally getting ready to star participating in the events that gave rise to my timeline." Morgan commented.

"Yes. As soon as my own transformation is done, I can transform and bind the non Servants in our group. With that done, we'll be all ready to go." Jun replied.

Scathach and Penthesilea nodded to each other in agreement.

'Silea's training with me has already produced sufficient results. Since it will be a large scale battle from now on, I should probably return to training to others to make sure they are ready, especially the less experienced ones.' Scathach thought to herself.

"I just have one crucial thing to prepare before we enter that timeline. After that we can go at any time." Morgan said her piece.

"Very well. We'll do it like that then." Jun agreed without any questioning since he had already correctly deduced it had to do with Morgan's special circumstance and thus, it was better to keep it all hush hush.

"Are you planning on making any moves in my world dear? You've been paying more attention to it lately." Cleria inquired.

"Right you are love! The fools from the Great King Faction seem to be losing their patience with an unknown like me, specially since we made sure they knew very well that your were with me and had critical and solid evidence of their wrongdoings." Jun replied.

"I suspect they will try to intrude on our domain pretty soon, providing us with an excuse to directly crush them without making the entire Devil Race dead set on a war." He added.

"Are you sure husband? Such a great disrespect of another sovereign's power seems like more than enough to start a war." Penthesilea questioned.

"It will earn us some serious hostility for sure but . . . There are various reasons for me to think that way." Jun began to share his views on the matter.

"Firstly, the Great King Faction is actively trying to eat away at the current leadership's power and authority. This is already a big help since despite our actions weakening the Devil Race as a whole, it will remove one of their sources of internal conflict as well."

"Secondly, they have other enemies, both within their own race and outside of it, just waiting to prey on their weaknesses and strike. Us taking out the Great King Faction will already make them seem open for attack but if they come after us and fail to achieve victory quickly, it will send an all green signal to all those aiming for them."

"Lastly, and perhaps most importantly . . . They simply can't afford a war with us. Some of our power will be revealed if we make such a big move. That will give an opportunity for most heavy hitter to know that messing with us is not a good idea." Jun concluded.

"Even if that's the case . . ." Penthesilea truly couldn't think how a ruler could let such a thing slide. Then again, it was entirely due to the culture she was raised in.

"It will be like that Silea. And that is mainly due to a major weakness shared by almost all individuals in this world that have the power to rivals us." Jun added.

This time everyone was interested and Jun smiled.

"They have a domain to defend, people to protect. It means they can't carelessly make big moves or leave their posts for long." He revealed.

"As for us, even this town is not worth that much. If we find ourselves facing unfavourable odds, we can all retreat into the safety of domina Coronam before coming out in a location they will have inevitably left poorly guarded."

"Such is the benefit of being a small force with not fixed headquarters. The enemy doesn't have a stronghold to hit. A place they known for sure will hurt us if they hit it. As such, they can't employ their numeric advantage and must spread out to guard as much territory from our raids."

"Naturally, that also means we can't conquer anyone due to our low numbers but just destroying poses no challenge." Jun concluded his additional explanation.

"So as you surmis-" Jun suddenly stopped mid sentence. Then a smirk formed on his lips.

"Just as I was speaking, it seems someone finally could not hold back any longer." He commented.

Morgan frowned. A disrespect to her husband's authority was a disrespect to her authority and that was something the Fairy Queen could simply never tolerate.

Scathach showed no particular reaction, just silently calculated how to beast use the possible coming battles to sharpen her most recent and still pretty green students.

Penthesilea on the other hand, show a bloodthirsty look as if she was finally getting what she wanted. The amazon queen was always battle hungry but it seemed that since her ascension into a Divine Spirit, her lust for battle became even greater. She was a Goddess of War after all.

Cleria on the other hand, was not to happy. Although the Great King Faction were indeed her enemies, inconveniencing the Devil Race as a whole was most definitely not her wish though, if that was Jun's decision, she would still support him as his wife of course.

Alas, as he focused his attention on the place where he felt a teleportation made breach in his bounded field, Jun's grin turned in a sigh filled with disappointment.
