Chapter 33: Fate's Tale (Part 02)
It was happening again, the memories were flooding back. He knew better than to talk about it. He had to forget, push the memories back. Fate rushed to their bathroom, reaching into the medicine cabinet. He could see flashes of pink butterflies luminating the forest. In the midst of the light was The Elder. His long platinum blond hair with pink tips, his gorgeous pale blue eyes, his sweet lips. Each flash sent sharp pains to his head.
“Where is it,” Fate moved the medicines around and grabbed his medicine. He popped open the pill bottle just as he was about to take it. He felt another sharp pain in his head and with it another flash. He could see himself on top of the Elder, their lips inches from touching. “Stop it, I don’t want to remember,” He opened his eyes. The pills were falling down the sink drain. The sharp pain in his head must have caused him to drop the bottle.
“No,” Fate tried to catch the pills but it was too late. They were washed down the drain. “Shit,” He punched the wall leaving an intention of fist on the canvas.
Fate placed his hand on his head as the memories continued to plague his mind. He sat on the floor in their bathroom feeling flash after wicked flash, each one bringing unbearable pain.
“Soren, forgive me,” Fate closed his eyes as the memories flooded back.
He stood there holding his sword standing before a small army of vampires. Surrounded him and his team but he wasn’t about to let them destroy another village. His blue eyes locked on the army of vampires watching their every move. In their faces. He could see the face of the vampire that murdered his parents. He’d kill them, all of them.
Fate let out a loud scream charged at the vampires, chopping one’s head off. The second one tried to attack him from behind. He cloaked a throwing knife in spirit, hitting him right in the throat. Spiritual energy turned his body into dust purifying him. More vampires gathered on him, still Fate kept attacking, cloaking his blade in spirit, killing one after another showing no mercy.
“You want me, come and get me.” Fate cut his hand drawing blood. The vampires smelled his human blood and came running toward him. He cut one in half, took out a knife and jammed into a vampire's skull. While he was on top of it, he kept stabbing it’s skull repetitively until he was out of breath.
“Commander, look out,”
A vampire tried to bite Fate’s neck. Before it could, A trident flew at it striking it with a burst of spirit turning it into dust.
“Nice save, Kaiba,” Fate placed his hand on his comrades shoulder. He had long black hair that went to his mid back. His right ear had a blue feather ear piercing. His other ear had a gold stud piercing. He wore a blue battle robe that left his right shoulder exposed. His shoulder had tattoos of a dragon swirling around his arm, constricting it, its jaws opening as if it were attacking. He was equipped with a spear, it was crafted with the initials K.F. on it. The long blue pole was sturdy, capable of withstanding large amounts of spirit use. Two feathers were tied around the tip of the pole. One feather was blue, the other white with blue accents. This Spear was Kaiba’s signature weapon. He never went anywhere without it.
“Anytime commander,” Kaiba punched Fate’s shoulder. “Though,” His blue eyes glanced over at the vampire corpse with several knife punctures in the skull. “Was that really necessary sir?”
“Of course, vampires aren’t people, they’re monsters. Like all monsters, they deserve to be killed and I’m the executioner.” Fate pulled the knife out of the vampire's skull. “They want us to be afraid but it’s not us who should be afraid. It’s them.”
“I see,” Kaiba eyes lingered on the corpses of vampires that were piled on top of each other and being burned to ash. “But if we start killing them mercilessly doesn’t that make us monsters?”
“We don’t feed on the blood of others, they do. We’re not the same.” Fate bandaged his hand. “Now go, I’ll finish up here. Drinks are on me tonight.” Kaiba nodded and left with his team. Fate smirked watching as the vampires burned. He wouldn’t rest until this was the fate for all vampires.
“Impressive,” A woman stepped out of the shadows of the village. She had red hair that went to her mid back. She wore a white dress and long black boots that went to her thigh. On her right thigh, he noticed a tattoo of a “P”.
“Who the fuck are you?” Fate asked, preparing to draw his sword.
“No one of importance,” She adjusted her glasses. “But it’s what I have to offer that should be of great interest to you. So tell me, have you ever heard of Elders?”
“Elders, why should that be of any interest to me? A vampire’s a vampire, I’ll kill it regardless of its title.” Fate glared at her.
“But it should be of interest,” The woman smirked. “For if you kill the Vampire Elder. All the other vampires would follow suit. So you’d kill them all by killing this one. So if I were you,” She walked up to Fate. “I’d stop pursuing the small fry and go for the Elder. Someone of your talents,” She glanced over at the burning bodies. “Should have no problem facing an Elder. Take from this information what you will. I was just offering you some advice.” Fate watched as the woman entered the dark forest, returning to the shadows.
“Soren, I-,” Fate’s eyes building up tears. He placed his hand on the scar left by the woman who attacked him. She had a “P” tattoo just like the woman he ran into that night. He led them to Soren. They used him to trap the Elder and it worked. He was foolish not to see it. “It’s all my fault, I killed you because I couldn’t stay away. I loved you too much and now because of that. You’re dead.” He shut his eyes as a tear fell.
“Fate, are you sure about this?” Kaiba asked. “Are you even sure this woman is telling the truth? Elders, we’ve never heard of Elders before. We’re not even sure they exist.”
“Regardless, it’s worth checking out.” Fate began packing his clothes. “If there’s an Elder, I’ll find him and I’ll kill the bastard. Vampires murdered my parents and I’m not going to rest until they’re all dead.” He grabbed his sword. “I have to do this, I joined the human faction to get strong and now, I’ve learned all I can. Now it’s time to take that training and kill an Elder. Besides, If what this woman says is true, I can make them extinct. This is my purpose, I was meant to do this.” He explained. “Look after everyone for me,” He began tying blankets together to make a rope.
“But commander, you can’t just-,” Before Kaiba could get another word out. Fate jumped out of the window and used the rope he made to descend to the grass below. “Sir, we need you, can’t we at least talk about this with the others? Sir, Sir, come back, you can’t just leave us. We need a leader.”
“They have one, enjoy the promotion, commander.” Fate cut the rope and left the human stronghold.
“I was so stupid,” Fate held his head as another flash struck him.
“There you are,” Fate whispered, he remained in the bushes. After three years of searching his target was in sight. The Elder had platinum blond hair with glowing pink tips. His pale blue eyes were looking over a nearby village. He was dressed in a pink kimono with butterflies flying across it. The sash that held the kimono together was holding a decorative fan. This was it, it was time to kill an Elder. He drew his sword and jumped out of the bushes.
“So you’re the one who’s been tracking me,” The Elder took out the fan. He swatted Fate’s sword aside with the fan. Fate kept trying to cut him with spirit but the Elder swatted his blade everytime barely trying. He slapped Fate’s nose lightly with the fan. He sneezed once he did, the Elder swatted him on the back of the head. He popped the fan and fanned himself.
“Stop toying with me,” Fate took out a knife and swung at the Elder. The Elder kept dodging Fate’s attacks effortlessly. He slapped Fate in the face using the fan. He growled and began swinging wildly. “I’ll kill you.” The elder kept dodging.
“Kill me but why?” The Elder swatted Fate in the face with the fan. He snatched the fan from him and threw it down. “Hey that was mine, it’s okay though,” He reached into his kimono. “I have more,” He took out another fan, fanning himself.
“That does it,” Fate threw his knife at the fan. The blade went through the fan ruining it.
“That wasn’t very nice, now, I have to teach you a lesson in manners.” The Elder threw the fan at Fate. The fan hit him in the face. Soon after, he grabbed Fate’s wrist, twisted it and caused him to do a front flip onto the grass below. “You should respect your Elders.” He picked his fan up off the floor and fanned himself.
“Fuck you,” Fate yelled as the Elder walked away. “This isn’t over, I’m not going to stop trying to kill you so you better finish me off while you have the chance.”
“I don’t like hurting humans.” The Elder turned to face him. “I find it to be distasteful. So please stop trying to kill me,” He smiled. “I don’t want to keep hurting you. You’re fragile and I might kill you by accident and I just can’t have that. It was nice meeting you.” He kept walking away.
“Don’t make me laugh,” Fate chuckled. “You don’t like hurting humans, bullshit. If you’re so against it. Tell me, Vampire Elder, what do you drink?” The Elder stopped. “Human blood right? Face it, you exist to hurt humans. You’re a monster, as Elder you’re the one who released this plague on all of us. That makes you the worst kind of monster.” A tear fell from Elder’s eyes. The moment the tear touched the ground, Fate felt a blade to his throat.
“That’s enough,” A vampire held his sword closer to his throat. He had long gray hair and green eyes with a slight glow to them. He was dressed in white kimono with a black dragon design wrapped around it. “I will not stand here while this trash speaks Ill of you Soren. I say we kill the bastard.”
“No, Sozin, killing doesn’t solve anything. It only leads to more killing.” Soren explained. “Let him go,” Sozin sheathed his sword. “Regardless of how you might feel about me. There’s nothing you could say to me that I haven’t already told myself. So what do you call yourself, human?” He asked.
“I’m not telling you shit,” Fate glared.
“Very well, nice meeting you, human. Sozin, we’re leaving.” Soren walked away.
“For the record, you only found Soren because he wanted you to find him.” Sozin kicked Fate in the ribs lightly and walked away.
Every day since then. Fate would track down the Elder. He refused to give up, killing the Elder was his ticket to killing all vampires. He wasn’t going to stop till he succeeded. It led to multiple fights with Sozin most of which he lost until one day.
“How many times do I have to tell you? The Elder has no desire to see you.” Sozin threw Fate back with his sword. “Besides, if you can’t kill me, there’s no way in hell you’re killing Soren. He’s stronger than me.” He locked swords with Fate. “So just give up already.”
“Never,” Fate kicked dirt in Sozin’s eyes. While he was blinded. He kneed Sozin in the balls as hard as he could. He fell over clenching himself. “First rule of fighting a human, we don’t always fight fair.” He took Sozin’s sword and sheathed it before he could grab it. Soon after, He grabbed Sozin’s long hair, dragging him by it. “Here,” Fate threw Sozin at Soren’s feet. “I took out your trash, now it’s time to deal with you.”
“Kill him, Soren.” Sozin was still clutching his balls. “He hit me in the balls, the bastard hit me in the balls. He has to die. There’s no redeeming this asshole. Kill him.”
“Shut up, you’re just Soren’s bitch. Nobody cares what you say.” Fate crossed his arms. Sozin glared at Fate. “I said what I said, so deal with it.”
“Oh I plan to,” Sozin ran over to Soren. “Make me a shell sword, he took my sword master. I need a sword.”
“A Shell sword?” Fate raised his brow. “What is this Shell you speak of?”
“Its divine shell, a material stronger than diamond. Only Soren can-.”
“Sozin, enough,” Soren glared at him. “You’ve said too much already.”
“Elder Soren, he’s a human what difference does it make if he knows your ability or not?” Sozin asked.
“So that’s your ability,” Fate crossed his arms. “I can’t wait to share this information with the others. Pretty soon everyone will know of your ability. So if you’ll excuse me, I’ll just go and tell everyone what your assistant just told me.”
“You will do no such thing.” Soren spoke, pink chains emerged from his kimono. The chains grabbed Fate and pinned him against a tree. The chains wrapped around his entire body keeping him restrained.
“Chains, that’s your solution.” Fate laughed. “Pathetic, you can’t keep me pinned here forever. I’ll get out and when I do I’ll tell everyone what I know. Your ability will be exposed pretty soon. We’ll have a strategy to kill you. It’s clear your too strong for me to kill myself but not when I bring a few friends.” He began struggling to break free of the Shell chains. “Face it Elder, you’re dead. That is unless you kill me before I tell them.” He watched as Soren walked away. “Get back here and kill me you bastard, it’s your only option.”
Fate remained pinned to the tree for hours. He kept fighting to break free of the chains but it was no use. They were indestructible. Regardless, He refused to give up, he’d break out of this and kill the Elder. His eyes began to feel heavy. He was wearing himself out trying to break free of the chains. He’d rest for now and when he woke up he’d find a way out of these chains.
Fate awoke to the sound of fire cracking. As his eyes opened he saw the burning flames of a campfire. There sitting beside it was the Vampire Elder. The Elder's back was facing him while his pale blue eyes remained on the crisp flame.
“You’re awake,” Soren spoke.
“Finally come to kill me,” Fate kept trying to break free. “Good, you're finally coming to your senses. Go on, take a bite, drink my blood, that’s what you vampires do isn’t it? You kill people without a care as to who you hurt along the way.”
“I didn’t come to kill you.” Soren answered. “I came to understand so if I may, I’d like to ask you something.”
“You might as well ask,” Fate rolled his eyes. “I’m struck in your stupid chains anyway and they won’t budge but I swear. Once I get out of here, I’m killing you.” He kept struggling trying to loosen the grip on the chains.
“Why do you wish to kill me?” Soren asked.
“Don’t flatter yourself,” Fate spat. “It’s not just you I want to kill. It’s everyone like you.” He glared at Soren. “I hate every last one of you and I won’t stop until I’ve killed you all. By killing you, I succeed.”
“I see,” Soren closed his eyes. “But why, what have we done to cause you to hate us so,” He turned to face Fate.
“A vampire murdered my parents,” Fate answered. “I was sixteen when they died. I joined the humans because it wasn’t enough to kill the vampire that did it. I had to punish every last of you. So I vowed to get stronger and kill every vampire until there’s none left.”
“If you managed to kill the vampire that caused you this pain. Why wasn’t it enough? Why do you seek to punish us all for what another did?” Soren asked. “You’d go as far as to kill a vampire who has no desire to harm humans. And yet, you claim us to be monsters who exist to harm humans. But I fail to see how we’re the monsters when you’d kill us for the sake of revenge. So is it really us who are the monsters or is it you? Or perhaps, it’s the anger you bear toward us that’s the real monster.”
Fate stopped struggling to break the chains long enough to consider Soren’s words. “No, vampires are evil. A vampire killed my parents. They had to pay, they had to.”
“What did killing them solve?” Soren asked. “It’s just as I’ve told Sozin, killing only leads to more killing. A vampire killed your parents so you resolved to kill them. You feel justified in taking their lives but it wasn’t enough. Now you seek to kill more. It won’t be long before a vampire comes for you seeking that same justice. With your death, the cycle begins anew. It changes nothing, fixes nothing, it’s people with a mindset like yours that started this war.”
“Yeah well, the cycle started with you vampires.” Fate kept struggling trying to get free. It was no use, the chains were too tight. “You drew first blood. So if you ask me, I say all of you deserve to die.”
“So you resolve to hate us forever,” Soren shifted his gaze to Fate. “You're so blinded by your anger towards us that you wouldn't even consider a moment of peace if it was offered. What if your actions hinged on the fate of all the humans? Would you still draw your blade and kill me or if given a chance. Would you be willing to look past your hatred and see us as more than just monsters. Know that if you by chance failed to kill me that I would in return kill all humans based on your decision to end my life.” He stared into Fate’s eyes. “Doesn’t seem fair for me to punish all humans for your actions but this is how you treat us. So why not look past your anger and take this moment to understand us. If the roles were reversed I would take that chance. So take it, prove to me you there’s more to you humans than your hatred and I hope to show you that not all of us are these monsters you claim us to be. So, what will you do, human?”
“I may be a human but I have a name,” Fate glared at him. “It’s Fate, my answer to your offer is, if what I did hinged how you viewed humans then,” He let out a sigh. “I wouldn’t want you to see us as hateful or unforgiving so I’d take your offer. I’d want to do the right thing even if I wanted so badly to do the wrong thing. Because it’s not worth punishing all the humans over. You aren’t going to actually kill anyone are you?” He raised his brow.
“No, I don't like hurting humans. I merely wish to understand them is all.” Soren chuckled. “So if I let you go can I trust you not to draw your sword Fate?”
“I won’t try to kill you.” Fate groaned. “I’m willing to try the keyword being try to see past my anger. I’ll give you a chance to prove that not all vampires are evil. But don’t think for a second I won’t kill you after.”
“Fair enough,” Siren snapped his fingers. The chains holding Fate shattered. He dropped to his feet and dusted himself off. “May I have Sozin’s sword back?” He held out his hand. Fate rolled his eyes and tossed him the sword. “Thank you, Fate.”
“Whatever, let’s just get this over with.” Fate followed Soren. He was still convinced that vampires were evil and doubted Soren could convince him otherwise. He’d indulge the Elder if only to prove that humans aren’t the problem. Vampires are.
A few years passed after witnessing small village after small village unknowingly housing vampires. In return, the vampires weren’t feeding on them. They hunted animals instead. They’d even use their gifts in secret to help humans. As time went on,
Fate began to realize that not all Vampires existed to harm humans. They preferred human blood but they had found ways to subdue the craving. Soren was among these vampires and to think while Fate was with the humans fighting vampires protecting villages. He was killing vampires who weren’t even attacking the village or hurting anyone.
They were being led by false beliefs that all vampires are a threat. It was under those beliefs they drew their weapons and killed any vampire dwelling in a human village.
Fate watched as his men raided village after village slaughtering vampires for simply existing. This was wrong, his people needed to know that they were killing innocent vampires for no reason. Wait, did he just refer to vampires as innocent. Soren’s gotten to him, he’s finally starting to see the world through the Elder’s eyes. He let out a defeated sigh.
“Master Soren,” Fate stood at the edge of the stream. The entire stream was lit up by pink butterflies all of which were created by Soren’s shell.
In the midst of the stream was Soren. His long platinum blond hair soaked in water as pink tips of his hair let off a faint glow. His chiseled chest and abs exposed underneath the moonlight. To see Soren like this, it made Fate realize just how lucky he was to be in Elder’s presence.
“Fate, I’m nude can this wait?” Soren asked as he continued to clean himself.
“I just wanted to say that I’m sorry.” Fate forced a swallow. “I see now, what I was doing before with the humans killing vampires, protecting villages. That in some of those cases we were unjustly killing. We didn’t know as their commander I-, I’m truly sorry Soren.” He kneeled before Soren. “This whole time I’ve accused vampires of being monsters. But it was me, I was blindly following orders and my anger didn’t help matters. I killed so many.”
“Fate,” Soren grabbed a robe and tied it around himself. “You didn’t know but you know now. You can’t be so hard on yourself. The anger you feel is gone and now that you’re free of it. You finally see things as they are and that is a joyous thing. You mustn’t look back only forward.”
“Thank you Soren,” Fate hugged him. “You saved me from myself and for that. I will always be in your debt. Which is why I decided,” He stared into Soren’s eyes. “I want you to turn me. I know what your deepest desire is. You wish to aid the humans. That’s where your heart lies but as Elder you can’t because they fear you. So turn me,” He placed his hand on his chest. “I’ll carry out your will, I will use the power you gave me to protect humans. Let me do this for you Soren. It’s the least I can do.”
“Fate, you’d sacrifice your humanity for me.” Soren turned his head. “I can’t ask that of you. Mortality is a gift, you shouldn’t sacrifice that for anyone. You're human and you know my feelings toward humans. I can’t turn you Fate, I won’t.”
“Yes you can.” Fate embraced Soren. “Let me do this for you, Soren. I swear I won’t do wrong by you. It’ll be just as if you yourself were there protecting them. It’s what you want and I can give that to you so please let me do this for you.”
“Fate, It’s been years since I’ve turned anyone. Besides, as Elder, I should refrain from such actions. The results could upset the balance and it could kill you. Fate, there’s too many risks there’s no way I can-.” Fate placed his finger over Soren’s lips to silence his words.
“I’ve been thinking,” Fate lowered his head. “The life of an Elder must be lonely. People respond to you with fear. The other vampires expect you to have all the answers. Even though they respect your title. The truth is they only do so because they fear you.” He forced a swallow. “It’s all the same, everywhere you go, you’re avoided because of fear. But it doesn’t have to be that way.” He ran his fingers through Soren’s hair.
“Fate, please,” Before Soren could get another word out. He pressed his lips against his. The moment their lips touched, Fate's sense of control faded. He took off Soren’s robe leaving him exposed. He slipped off his shirt, dropped his pants to the grass below. Once he was free of his clothes he grabbed Soren’s throat and slammed his back against a tree. He crushed their lips together.
“I want you to turn me, Soren,” Fate’s lips met with Soren’s neck as his boxers fell to the grass. “Take me and make me yours.” He continued to taste his sweet skin. To be claimed by Soren, it was an honor, a gift. Soren was the first person to never give up on him. Even when Fate was so consumed by anger. Soren pulled him from that anger and with his hand. He guided out of the shadows of hatred and into the light of understanding. For that, nothing Fate could give him would ever be enough. The only thing that could even come close was if. He gave Soren, himself, his body, his humanity, his soul all of it. He wanted Soren to have it, to have him, to claim him, to belong to him forever. Nothing could make him happier. “I love you, Soren,” He held Soren in his arms. “So please, take my humanity, take all that I am and make it yours.”
“Fate, I-,” Soren was still resisting but Fate knew his resolve was shifting. One kiss was enough to change Soren’s mind. As their lips met once more, Fate felt Soren grab his shoulders and force him against the tree. Their lips parted but Soren’s eyes were fixated on his lips. “If I do this,” He caressed Fate’s cheek. “If I accept you as mine, you have to promise me, you’ll love me always and that you’ll never forget me. No matter what happens or how far we are apart that part of me remains with you always. You can’t cure my loneliness but knowing that there’s someone who cares so deeply for me. Somehow, makes the sad life of an Elder bearable.”
“I promise,” Fate kissed Soren’s lips. “I’ll love you forever. No matter where I go, the only person who has claim to my heart is you. Even when your vampire venom stops my heart from beating, know that during those final beats. Every last one was for you and everything I do from that moment on is because I-, fuck it,” He crushed their lips together. As they were kissing, he felt Soren’s tongue battle with his, a battle he quickly lost. He found himself lying on the grass with Soren’s body on top of him. He hitched moan after moan as their hips rubbed against each other. He could feel the heat of Soren’s arousal touching him and with each thrust. He craved more, he rolled over on top of Soren and slowly kissed his way down his neck, to his protruding collarbone, his toned abs until he finally reached the tip of Soren’s cock.
Fate had never sucked a guy before and wasn’t sure he could handle it. But he was fucking an Elder, the strongest of all vampires. The idea of having the great Soren at his mercy from having his dick sucked. This was too good to pass up. He took Soren’s cock into his mouth, tasting him, without thought he felt Soren’s hand press down on his head. Instead of choking, like most, Fate was too stubborn. He kept going even as Soren’s vigorous hips thrusted into his mouth and his fingers pulled at his hair. He could feel Soren thrusting harder and harder until. He was on his knees hovering over Fate’s lap pushing his head down further. Soren’s cock was pounding the deepest reaches of his throat until. Fate coughed as Soren’s release fired into his throat. He swallowed Soren’s release and ran his fingers through Soren’s hair. He watched as Soren’s tongue licked his cock and even dared to suck on it.
The Great Elder Soren was sucking his human dick. Fate couldn’t help but smirk at this thought. Nobody would believe that an all powerful Elder would do something like this to him. Which only made it all that more pleasurable. He kept stroking Soren’s hair watching as he went to work on him. The way he sucked him, it was nice, slow, relaxing, he was taking his time with it and Fate enjoyed every second of it. Every lick, everytime he felt himself enter Soren’s wet cavern, there was no need to rush. He’d lay here and watch as Soren tasted him. Over time, he felt his stomach tighten, his heart was beginning to race. Still he resisted as Soren’s tongue licked him, tasted him, sucked him. His hips started to thrust out of control.
“Soren, I’m going to-, I’m going to-,” Fate let out a moan as his seed shot out leaving a stain on his chest. Soren’s tongue licked up the mess and he pressed his lips against Fate’s. Their lips parted as Soren placed his hand on Fate’s beating heart as it raced. A beat that would soon cease to exist after Soren claimed him.
“Are you sure you’re willing to sacrifice this?” Soren’s hand was still Fate’s fast beating heart. “There’s no going back, once I turn you, you’ll lose your warmth,” He touched Fate’s cheeks. “Your eyes and your skin will no longer have the same life to it, they’ll become pale and empty. The only thirst you’ll know is your thirst for human blood. Sometimes, you’ll even feel like a slave to it. Fate, this life it isn’t-.”
“I love you, Soren.” Fate caressed his cheek. “Whatever the downsides are to becoming a vampire. I’ll let my love for you outweigh it. As long as I get to be yours forever, “ He ran his fingers through Soren’s hair. “It’s worth it,” Their lips connected once more, Fate’s heart continued to race as Soren placed his hands beside Fate’s shoulders, his bare body over his. He tilted his head back ready to give himself to Soren. Soren’s fangs bit into his neck and at the same time. He felt Soren enter him, filling him with pain and undeniable pleasure. He gripped Soren’s as he thrusted into him while drinking his blood. “Aw, yes, fuck,” Fate’s gripped tighter onto him as Soren’s vampire venom entered his body. His rapid heartbeat was beginning to fade. The life in his skin was growing paler by the second. As he was turning, he could still feel Soren inside him moving faster and faster until. Soren pressed his bloody lips against Fate’s giving him his first taste of human blood. He laid there motionless as the venom took its toll. His human life was over, but his life as a vampire had just begun.
“Soren, Why did you have to die?” Fate placed his hand on the bite mark that turned him. He shut his eyes as a teardrop fell from his cheek. The tear hit the floor and he closed his eyes remembering once more.
Fate’s eyes opened. He sprung forward and shifted his gaze to his pale hands. His heartbeat was gone. His skin was cold. He checked his teeth to discover they had become small vampire fangs. He glanced over to see Soren beside him holding him close.
“You’ll be hungry soon but I’m afraid.” Soren stroked Fate’s hair. “A traditional cheeseburger isn’t going to cut it. You’ll need blood.” He kissed Fate’s cheek. He smiled and took Soren into his arms.
“I’m hungry but not for blood.” Fate climbed on top of Soren. “I want my first act as a vampire to be making love to the person who has stolen my heart. I promise, I won’t be gentle.” Soren laughed.
“I’d imagine,” Soren stroked Fate’s hair back. “You do realize you were turned by an Elder. Most humans when they turn have a hard time adjusting to the increased strength and speed. Things that used to require lots of strength to you as a human would now require less effort. So what I’m saying is,”
“When I fuck you, I’ll be fucking a lot harder than I think I am.” Fate grinned. “That’s perfect,” He pressed his lips against Soren’s. He pushed himself into Soren and started to thrust his hips. Soren held tight to Fate’s body as he tested out his new body on Soren’s insides. He had the Elder letting out moan after moan. The first thing, Fate began to notice is his duration seemed limitless. As a human, he’d be done by now but as a vampire he was going strong. He slammed his hand onto the grass trying to test his limits. He thrusted harder, faster, showing no restraint, Soren’s an Elder if anyone could take it. He could.
“Fate, Fate, wait, I’ve never been. Fate,” Soren’s words were cut off by a kiss. He flipped Soren over and entered him once more. His hands grabbed tight to Soren’s hips. He slammed himself into Soren deeper and deeper. He bit his lip drawing blood as his muscles started to coil. “Aw, yes,” Soren threw his head back and with one final thrust. Fate arched over Soren’s back, his massive release firing into him. “Next time, don’t do it so hard.”
“That was-,” Fate slapped Soren’s ass. “The best sex of my life.” Soren created a fan out Divine shell and swatted Fate in the face with it. “Ou,” He wiped the blood from his busted lip. “What was that for?”
“For slapping me on the ass,” Soren fixed his hair. “I’m an Elder, you’re not to claim me. I’m to claim you. That’s how this works. Granted, it was nice so thank you for fucking me.” He grabbed his robe and put it on.
“You’re welcome, though, if you smack me with that fan again.” Fate pointed at Soren’s fan as he fanned himself. “I’m going to take that fan and shove it right up your ass. I’m so sick of being slapped in the-,” Soren hit Fate in the face with the fan. “That’s it, give it here,” He kept trying to steal Soren’s fan from him. “I’ve been in your ass, I know it’ll fit.” Soren started whacking Fate on the back of the head with the fan until he stopped trying to grab it. “Okay, Okay you win, I won’t touch the fan.”
“Wise decision,” Soren fanned himself. Fate’s eyes remained on Soren as realized what he had to do. He became a vampire so he could live out Soren’s dream to aid the humans. To show his former team not all vampires are monsters. In order to do that, he had to leave and saying goodbye to someone he loved like Soren wasn’t going to be easy. But, he promised and a promise is a promise.
“I have to go,” Fate kissed Soren. “I’d love to stay but I promised to carry out your will. I can’t do that here. Thank you Soren for everything. I hope one day when the humans see you, they don’t respond in fear. But that’s why,” He balled his hand into a fist. “I have to go so I can show them. Goodbye, Soren.” He started to leave.
“If you intend to carry out my will and fight in my stead.” Soren placed his hand on Fate’s shoulder. “Take this,” Fate watched as a sword formed in Soren’s right hand. The blade was made for Soren’s divine shell. It shined a bright pink and had butterfly engravings on it. “So that way, no matter where you go a part of me will be with you.” Fate took the sword from Soren. The moment he did, he was struck by a violent pink flash. He shook his head slowly to quiet the bright light. When his eyes opened, Soren was gone…
“However, not everything goes exactly as planned.” Fate let out a sigh and closed his eyes. He managed to masquerade as a human for several months. Thanks to becoming a vampire, he was able to help his team help many humans. Until, one day…
“Werewolves, here?” Kaiba eyes wandered the village. They just finished evacuating what was left of the people. Werewolves were quickly biting them as they ran hoping to turn the humans into werewolves. It wasn’t enough they had to survive an attack from vampires, now werewolves were in on these attacks.
“Kaiba, look out,” Fate used his vampire speed to grab Kaiba and jump out of the way. However, he was stopped by being struck by a werewolf. He rolled across the floor being hit right in the ribcage with a shoulder tackle. Kaiba was able to dodge of his own accord but the werewolf that was attacking them was none other than Lord Grimm himself.
“Excellent work Nikan,” Lord Grimm began walking toward Kaiba as Fate was left to deal with Nikan. He was keeping Fate from interfering in their fight. “I told you, I was going to turn you one way or another Kaiba.” He popped his knuckles.
“Lord Grimm, so nice of you to visit me yourself.” Kaiba threw dirt in the Werewolf King’s eyes. As he was trying to get the dirt out of his eyes. Kaiba doused his spear in oil and lit it on fire. “Like I told you before, I will not become one of your foul rage fueled beasts. It’d be a disgrace to my talents. Besides, I have a daughter now. I’d rather her know me as a human,”
“Well too bad, she’ll be forced to mourn your death.” Lord Grimm let out a loud howl. Kaiba was blasted into a burning house. He tore through the burning house trying to find him. He came out behind him and stabbed him in the back with his spear. The blade went through Grimm’s stomach as Kaiba began trying to twist it.
“Now you die,” Kaiba’s eyes widened as Lord Grimm held his weapon in place. He kept trying to pull it out but couldn’t. He watched as the werewolf king’s body began transforming with the spear impaled into him. He casually pulled the spear out of Kaiba’s hand and through his stomach which began to heal soon after. He swung his claws at Kaiba. He dodged but only to be cut by the length of Grimm’s claws. “Stubborn beast,” He clinched his side as blood leaked out of his wound. His lips mimed the word sorry to Fate.
Kaiba was the only person that knew Fate returned as a vampire. He couldn’t keep a secret like that from his best friend. When he told him, Kaiba told him that it didn’t matter if Fate was a human, a vampire. They’re best friends above all else. He even told Fate. He wasn’t concerned about the war between vampires and werewolves. He didn’t care who won, the only thing he wanted was a world where both sides could co-exist along with humans. That was his dream, which is why when Fate returned. He welcomed him with open arms even knowing he was a vampire. But even though Kaiba accepted him there were risks.
Fate’s eyes lingered on the blood pouring out of Kaiba’s wound. He was still in the middle of a stalemate with Nikan. It was clear this wolf wasn’t trying to kill him. He was merely trying to stall him. Still, the second, Fate got a whiff of the blood leaking from Kaiba’s wound. It caught his full attention. It became hard for him to focus. The blood was luring him, tempting him to take a drink but he couldn’t. If he did that, Kaiba would die.
Lord Grimm walked out of the burning house in werewolf form. The tall beast’s black fur was lit on the fire from the flames. The wolf’s dark brown eyes were locked onto Kaiba glaring deep into his eyes. Despite the flames that covered his thick fur, he kept walking toward Kaiba as he was trying to heal his wound. The wolf king grinned as walked slowly toward him. His right claw dripped with Kaiba’s blood. Each step he made left a small quake in the ground. The shakes were getting closer and closer.
“Kaiba, hang in there, I’m coming.” Fate yelled. He tried to get past Nikan but he got in the way. “Get the fuck out of my way,” He fired a straight shot of spirit from his sword at Nikan. He took the hit and channeled Fate’s spiritual energy into his right hand.
“That’s not how you use spirit,” Nikan increased Fate’s spiritual energy by mixing it with his own. The spirit blast in his hand doubled in size. “This is how you use spirit,” A spirit wolf emerged from the blast and charged at Fate. The wolf tackled Fate, knocking him to the ground. His sword slid across the floor and out of Fate’s reach. The wolf’s sharp teeth bit down on Fate’s arm tearing at his skin.
“Get the fuck off me,” Fate reached into his pocket took out a knife and stabbed the wolf making it release his arm. The wolf faded and he started crawling to his sword. Before he could reach it, Nikan kicked him in the ribs forcing him to roll over.
“Stay, this doesn’t concern you.” Nikan placed his foot on Fate’s chest holding him down. He kept struggling to get free. It was then, a silver arrow flew right into Nikan’s shoulder puncturing his skin. Fate looked back in the direction the arrow was fired.
A woman was up in the trees. She had long black hair and jade eyes. He knew this woman. He was dating her before he left to find Soren, She’s the commander of the ranged unit. She kept rapidly firing arrow after arrow, hitting Nikan’s chest again and again. The arrows bounced off as Nikan used spirit to strengthen his skin. He pulled the silver arrow out of his shoulder and snapped it walking toward her.
“That’s right, come and get me,” She challenged. “Now here’s one for you,” She fired an arrow at Lord Grimm striking the same spot. Kaiba shoved his spear through. The silver in the arrow kept the wound Kaiba created from healing. Nikan began running at the tree she was on only to be caught by a bear trap. “Lesson number one, don’t mess with my husband.” She shot Lord Grimm in his sensitive wolf nose with an arrow. She went to reach for another arrow but she was out. “Here he comes,” She jumped off the tree falling into the bushes.
Nikan shoulder tackled the tree knocking it down. The tree began to fall on top of her, she began sprinting to get out of the way. Nikan jumped over the tree trying to catch her as she ran. She was drawing his attention away from Fate so he could help her… husband. Fate glared at Kaiba, slightly bothered by the fact his best friend married his ex.
“Kaiba, my ex-girlfriend is your wife.” Fate rushed over to his sword and picked it up. He charged at Lord Grimm. He caught Fate’s blade and snapped it with his hand. “Shit,” He was struck by a backhand being knocked into another burning house. “So, when did you plan on telling me that?” He held his ribs, trying to heal himself only to discover spiritual healing burns his skin. “Shit, not good, can’t heal.”
“It’s not my fault, you left her without saying goodbye. Plus,” Kaiba created a spiritual chain connecting it to his spear and pulling it to him. “Someone had to comfort her, you left her and didn’t come back. You were gone for three years, Fate. At some point, it becomes okay to date your best friend’s ex.” Lord Grimm went to slash him with his claws. He created another spirit chain, hooking it around Grimm’s ankle. He pulled hoping to make him fall but Lord Grimm pulled his foot back pulling Kaiba to him. He grabbed Kaiba’s throat and prepared to bite him on the shoulder.
“No,” Fate jumped on Lord Grimm’s back and stabbed him with a silver knife. “It’s never okay,” He kept trying to shake Fate off while the knife was lodged in his skin. He dropped Kaiba after he kicked the werewolf king right between the legs.
“We have a daughter, Fate,” Kaiba reasoned. “Don’t guilt trip me.” He spun and struck Lord Grimm with a quick dual palm strike. Once struck, Lord Grimm was hit by a burst of purification that began shocking Lord Grimm forcing him to back up. The attack was meant to force Grimm out of werewolf state but it was easily overpowered.
“Oh I’m guilt tripping you.” Fate glared at him. Lord Grimm backed into a burning house and the flames started burning Fate forcing him to let him go. He swung his claws at Fate, he dodged at the last second leaving a tear in his shirt. Kaiba broke through the roof trying to jam his spear into the King’s mouth. Lord Grimm grabbed the spear, stopping him.
“This ends now,” Kaiba’s spear ignited with purification. The pure light began shocking Lord Grimm trying to burn him to death. The amount of purification radiating from Kaiba’s Spear. Fate gasped, it’s spreading. Fate quickly jumped out of the way for if he was struck by Kaiba’s purification once, he’d turn to dust. It was like being struck by a powerful dose of sunlight highly dangerous for vampires. Lord Grimm was fighting just to maintain his werewolf transformation. He couldn’t let go of the spear as it was shocking him. He was forced to endure heavy doses of purification.
“That’s enough,” Lord Grimm ignored the pain, gripped tight to Kaiba’s weapon and used it to fling Kaiba clear across the village into a burnt down hospice. He smashed through the window striking a support beam. The beam cracked and the building started to collapse on top of him. He managed to make it out of the building before it collapsed. But his wounds, he had glass embedded into his back, his arm, his leg. There was a piece of wood caught deep in his stomach. The blood, there was so much blood. Kaiba fell to the floor as blood poured out of his body. He was fighting just to stay awake.
Fate couldn’t go near Kaiba. The urge to drink his blood was unbearable. It was hard for him to be even this close to his human friend. His best friend was bleeding to death in front of him and the only thing he could think about was drinking his blood. This urge had immobilized him. He had to stay put or else, he’d feed on Kaiba.
“Looks like you’re at your limit,” Lord Grimm reverted to his human form. Kaiba’s purification had succeeded in forcing him out of his werewolf form. However, it took all Kaiba had in him to do it. Only for the werewolf king not to be phased by it. The pain of being forced back didn’t bother him at all. So, this is the power of the Werewolf King. Kaiba fought to get back on his feet but only ended up coughing up blood. “It’s a real shame Kaiba,” Lord Grimm kept walking closer holding Kaiba’s beloved spear in his hand. “Such a waste of potential,” Lord Grimm’s intentions, he was going to kill Kaiba with his own weapon.
“I have to do something,” Fate tried to move but Kaiba’s blood was everywhere. His focus shifted back to his friend. His mouth was drooling, almost begging to finish him off. He froze in place refusing to hurt his best friend. “I’m sorry,.” He tried to look away as Lord Grimm placed his foot on Kaiba’s chest holding him still.
“I’m afraid, you’re bleeding to death and well my dear friend. As much as I’d like to turn you.” Lord Grimm smirked. “You’d only die before becoming one of us. So it seems, it’s time to cut my losses.” Kaiba went to pull out the piece of wood and kill himself. If only to deny Lord Grimm the satisfaction of killing him. “I don’t think so,” He stepped on Kaiba’s arm, breaking it with his strength. “Don’t worry, Kaiba, I’ll take good care of your daughter.”
“Kaiba, No,” Fate reached out to him only for the werewolf king to impale his friend through the heart with the spear. “You bastard,” Fate’s eyes lit up with anger. The shell sword formed in his hand. “Werewolf King or not, I’ll kill you.” He slammed his sword down. A pink wave of spiritual energy fired off of Fate’s blade tearing through the ground.
“My Lord,” Nikan jumped and grabbed Lord Grimm. He pulled his king out of the way of Fate’s attack. The pink blades tore a straight line through the forest, striking a mountain and cutting it half. “That sword,” He pointed at Fate’s blade. “My Lord, isn’t that?”
“I knew it, you’re no human. He turned you didn’t he?” Lord Grimm glared into Fate’s eyes as he held his sword. Nikan went to step forward to fight Fate in order to protect his king. “We’re leaving, I didn’t come for him.” He glanced over at Kaiba’s corpse. “Our target chose death,” He returned his gaze to Fate as his eyes burned with anger. “I’ll be seeing you again on the battlefield.” He walked away with Nikan. As soon as the King left. Fate rushed over to Kaiba’s side.
“Please don’t be dead,” Fate knew that he was dead. He was stabbed through the heart. There was nothing he could do. Still, he had to try something. “Come on,” Fate began healing him, hoping to bring life to his still heart. The spirit from healing was burning Fate’s hands but he ignored it and kept trying to save him. “Please Kaiba, don’t quit on me.” There was one way Fate could possibly save him though it was very slim. He sunk his teeth into Kaiba’s hoping his vampire venom would somehow save him. He wasn’t sure how the venom worked or if it could save someone after their heart had already stopped beating. Part of him hoped it would.
“Fate,” The woman walked up. She returned with reinforcements, all of them geared with weapons to kill werewolves. They stood with her in shock.“What are you doing to my husband?” He looked up at her with Kaiba’s blood dripping from his lips. “You’re one of them.” She reached into her sheath and pulled out a knife.
“Wait,” Fate wiped Kaiba’s blood from his lips. “Please,” He held up his hands in surrender. “I can explain.” He walked over to her. “I’m still me, yes, I’m a vampire but that doesn’t mean,”
“Stay back,” She swung her knife, cutting Fate’s hand. He stared at the deep gash on his hand from where she cut him. “Come any closer and I’ll kill you.” She warned. “I thought you hated vampires, I thought you were on our side. But you’re one of them, how long have you been one of them?” Fate knew better than to answer that. He’d been lying to them for months. Long enough to renew his title as commander. A title that -Fate balled his hand into a fist as his gaze shifted to Kaiba’s corpse.- He no longer deserves.
“Look, I spoke to the Elder, I’ve met him. They don’t want to hurt us. Please just put down the knife and we can talk about this.” Fate reasoned.
“Talk about what, the fact, you drank from my dead husband.” She yelled. “He was your friend. How could you do that to him?” Her eyes began to build tears. “Is he going to become like you? Is that the life you want for him?”
“No, it’s not, I was just trying to save his life.” Fate explained. The result of biting Kaiba and attempting to turn him failed. If the venom worked, Kaiba’s body would have already started to turn. But there was no sign of change. “Please put down the knife. We can pretend this never happened. I can still help you, that’s why I’m here to help to prove that not all vampires are evil. I’m still me, so please drop the knife.”
“Just leave and,” She glared at Fate as tears left her eyes. “Never show your face here again. You don’t belong with us, you belong to them so go be with your kind. If I ever see you again, I’ll kill you. Now excuse me while I bury my husband.” She sheathed her knife and rushed over to Kaiba. She removed the spear from his heart. The Reinforcements gathered around Kaiba and lifted his corpse off the ground so they could bury him. Fate let out a defeated sigh and walked away.
Fate tried to carry out Soren’s will as best he could. However, after what happened to Kaiba. He knew the human faction would never accept him. He’d be forced to return to Soren as a failure. He didn’t think it could be worse. But history has a way of proving him wrong…
Fate ran through the forest in search of Soren. As he was running, he felt a strong presence in the forest. He wasn’t alone, something else was here. Soren’s in danger. He took off running as fast as he could, eager to be by Soren’s side.
“We have to run,” Fate rushed over to Soren’s side. Even as he said these words, Soren didn’t move. He could feel the presence getting closer. But even so, Soren refused to move. “Come on don’t make me beg, we have to go. It’s too dangerous to stay here, you’ll die.” They were getting closer. “Fine,” Fate drew his sword. “If you won’t run, then, I’ll fight alongside you. We’ll die together.”
“Damn it,” Fate grabbed his head as the flashes struck him. His eyes dripped with tears as he saw the butterflies gathering once more. Soren forced him to abandon him and because of that Soren died. That marking on the woman that struck him. The “P” tattoo, it wasn’t the first time he saw it. The woman who set on the path of finding Soren had it too. It was all a trap, he was used like a tool in order for them to track down and kill Soren. Soren died because of him. Liley has that same marking on her wrist. She’s connected to them. Part of him wanted to attack her and find out what that marking means. Part of him wanted to kill them all in order to avenge Soren’s death. But he was afraid. The last time, he let himself get close to them. He was manipulated. He was afraid of them using him to hurt someone else.
“Fate,” Angel busted through the door. “Is everything alright?” He crouched getting beside Fate as sat on the bathroom floor. His eyes were fixated on the empty pill bottle on the floor. “You took off in kind of a hurry, I was starting to worry. So, I sort of busted down your door.” He fondled his fingers together. “Sorry.”
“I’ll tell you everything,” Fate spoke. He wasn’t strong enough to face whatever threat killed Soren. But, Angel was on the list. This threat was targeting him. So in order to prevent Angel from becoming another Soren. He’d tell him everything he knew about that marking. “Angel, what I’m about to tell you needs to stay between us. I know what killed the Elder and I’m convinced. They’re coming for you next.”
