Chapter 244: I did this!?
(A certain kid's dream.)
"Amazing!! Boss, you are amazing!! You actually have spatial affinity!"
"Boss is the best!!"
Azul scratched the back of his head to hide his awkwardness and made a smug look in front of lackeys as they praised him with looks of awe and admiration on their faces.
"Hehe, not only do I have fire affinity, I also have space affinity! Which is the rarest affinity out there!"
"If you guys stay by my side, I will surely protect you all!"
The day when Azul revealed his magic talent was the day when all the children in the village became his little fans and started to call him the boss of their little gang.
In their small and remote village, children didn't have access to schools, so most of them had plenty of time every day on their hands.
They used to play and mess around every day without any care in the world.
Although Azul didn't progress much in terms of strength and magic in those carefree days, he considers them to be the best of his entire life.
He grew up in a hidden village, but under the care of his sister and the other elders of the village, he grew up in a happy and loving environment.
Thus, he himself didn't know just how rare and powerful the affinity he had awakened was.
"Boss, will you become strong and protect us all from the evil demons outside when you grow up?"
Hearing the words of his lackey, Azul puffed up his chest and spoke in a smug tone,
"Hmph! If you all serve me and consider yourselves as my lackeys, obviously, I will protect you all!"
"One day, when I grow up, I will use my immensely powerful space magic to directly obliterate the heavenly demons! And destroy all enemies!!"'
"My space magic will be so strong that I will rip apart holes in space and then suture them back for fun!"
By that time, becoming a strong space-type mage had become Azul's lifelong goal; he dreamt of the day when he would be able to accomplish such a feat.
That's the exact reason why he learned the grade-6 spell 'Spatial Suture' when he entered the university as a disciple of the grade-1 mage 'Divine Flames' Jareth Aadhira Von Ayad.
Everything seemed to be going on the right track, but he finally realized one cruel truth.
'Space magic and time magic are highly underdeveloped in this world.'
There are only low-grade spells available for these two types of magic; there aren't even any grade-3 or higher spells recorded in the long annals of history that are related to these two magic types.
These two elements are so rare that wizards possessing them are rarely seen in several decades!
And those wizards who actually reach higher grades end up creating their own spells, as there's no one else to teach them, and there's no other reference material at all.
In other words, after coming to the university, Azul had realized that if he wanted to become a grade-1 Mage like his teacher Jareth, he would need to work a hundred times harder than others.
He would need to create his own path with his own hands!
Not only would he need to research and create his own spells, but he would also have very few amounts of reference material.
Others can't even help him unless they also have space-type affinity.
The good thing is that his teacher has the legendary skill 'Mana Singularity.' Jareth is the only person who can help him in creating new spells.
Among all the spells, Spatial Suture is Azul's favorite space-type spell, but the problem is that this spell is a complete joke.
Just like the spell of the fire type 'The Roar of the Flame Dragon,' this spell is extremely weak despite its grand name.
The only thing this spell is good at is suturing a small space temporarily.
This spell was actually created by a previous space-type mage to get rid of the wine he spilled accidentally on some important document.
By using spatial suture, he fixed the wine in place and then got rid of it from the important documents.
The thing is that you can get the exact same result if you use telekinesis and separate the wine from the documents.
In fact, telekinesis is more useful as it can be used by any mage.
Spatial Suture is just a spell created as a joke by a random mage; the entire mage community despises these types of weak and useless spells.
When Azul found out about this matter, he was really heartbroken; who could have thought that the spell he was so proud of was being regarded as a 'Joke'.
Azul found it hard to accept this cruel reality.
Until one fateful day.
…
(Back to present.)
[Ding! Are you sure you want to use an 'Attack Enhancement Card'?]
[Yes or No]
'Yes'
[Ding! Your next attack will be enhanced by 500 times!]
Just when Azul was about to use his magic, Jareth placed his palm on the little guy's shoulder.
This was not only to calm him and show support, but this was to give him support in magic too!
The attack enhancement card can only be used on his own attacks; he can't use it on other people's attacks.
Thus, Jareth did the exact same thing he did back in the battle against the avatar of the demon god.
He used his mana singularity to boost and add power to Azul's magic circuit, and he even supplied his own mana to increase the power output.
Jareth used his mana singularity to stabilize the spell circuit.
This way the spell got considered his own attack by the attack enhancement card despite it being cast by Azul.
[Grade-6 Space Magic: Spatial Suture!]
The space-time fabric itself started to warp from the mere presence of that mana circle.
An extremely powerful spatial shockwave spread out in all directions, making even Zion and Luche shocked from the sheer power.
Zion glanced at Jareth and cast a wry smile.
'This is the exact same thing he did against me… He suddenly increased the power of a spell out of nowhere… He can even use it on other people's spells?'
'Is this some kind of hidden bloodline talent or something like that?'
Even Zion, who has already travelled all over the world three times over, didn't know about how Jareth was enhancing his attack like that.
'Jareth Ayad… Just who are you?'
Unaware of Zion's shock, Jareth concentrated his mana on Azul's magic circle, and an evil smirk appeared on his face.
'Checkmate.'
*BOOOM!*
Azul could not believe what he saw with his own eyes in that moment.
His weak spell, his weak and unstable mana circle, became so domineering that it literally mutated into something completely out of his imagination.
He knew that Jareth was supporting him, but he never expected that Jareth's support would bring such insane power to his weak spell.
The space-time fabric itself started to tremble, and the massive, sinister miasmic rift started to tremble as if it felt 'fear' from the spell.
Two gigantic hands appeared out of the magic circle and forcefully closed the miasmic rift.
Azul literally sutured the 'hole' in the space-time fabric with that low-grade spell!
The miasmic rift that was so domineering that no one could even go close to it was forced to close by sheer might of his spell.
In that moment, Azul's doubts were completely shattered by Jareth.
Azul had started to think that he could never become strong with his space magic, but after seeing the might of his low-grade spell today, his eyes widened in sheer shock.
In that instant he had 'realized' that 'Spells are not weak; the user is weak.' If a powerful person uses it, even the weakest spell can bring out immense power.
Jareth's move not only gave him motivation to move forward in the future, it showed him the path he needed to take.
In that exact moment when Azul realized this, his mana insight became vast, and his mana control increased.
He immediately upgraded to peak grade 5 in an instant!
"The source of problems has been dealt with; good thing I brought you along…"
"Hold your head high in pride, Azul Ignis! You have become an excellent mage at this moment by contributing to saving the entire world; you have earned my respect."
Although Jareth had done most of the work, he gave all credit to Azul to boost the little guy's self-esteem, which he was severely lacking in.
Jareth himself does not have spatial affinity, so it was impossible for him to close the miasma; that is the exact reason why he brought Azul along with him to the elven empire.
He brought Azul with him just in case he was not able to save the golden nail and the miasmic rift ended up appearing.
Azul and the other two were never his weakness; they are his most useful assets!
"This… I… I did this? Wha-what?"
