Chapter 94: Su Yan VS Jellal
"You b*****d! Don't underestimate me!!"
"Drink!!" Jellal shouted. With a wave of his hand, numerous golden starlights shot toward Su Yan.
Su Yan knocked these starlights aside.
"Boom boom boom!!"
"Meteor!"
Jellal's body turned into a streak of light again and charged toward Su Yan. Su Yan swung a fist at Jellal, but Jellal quickly circled behind him, intending to launch a surprise attack.
Su Yan casually moved his other hand.
"Crack!" Su Yan's palm connected with Jellal's face.
"Wow!"
"Lin--!"
Jellal screamed, flying off and slamming into a pillar, which shattered on impact.
Su Yan wore a surprised expression. "Huh? I just struck by feel, but I hit you after all."
Slowly rising, Jellal wiped blood from the corner of his mouth, a grim look twisting his features. "Whether it was on purpose or by chance, I won't let you hit me a second time."
"Meteor!!"
A golden glow enveloped Jellal again, and he flew even faster than before.
"He's so fast! My eyes can't keep up!" Lucy gasped. Erza also looked tense, having never imagined Jellal could be this strong.
Jellal streaked around Su Yan. "See?! This is my true speed!"
"What!"
Su Yan suddenly appeared beside Jellal, clamping a hand around Jellal's head.
"It's impossible!!" Jellal couldn't believe he'd been caught.
"Flying around like a fly—you're making me dizzy."
With that, Su Yan heaved Jellal away.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Multiple pillars were destroyed in succession.
"Y-You b*****d! My Tower of Heaven...!" Jellal's face grew dark. It had taken him eight years to build this place; if it was too damaged, it might not fully absorb the magic power.
"Die!!"
Jellal pointed a finger at Su Yan, firing a huge magic bullet.
Su Yan clenched his fist and punched the incoming projectile.
"Boom----!"
The bullet was destroyed in one blow.
"I was expecting something special, but it looks like that's all you've got. At this level, you want to make me a sacrifice to resurrect Zeref?"
"The battle has only begun!"
Jellal charged at Su Yan once again, launching a relentless barrage. Yet all of his attacks were effortlessly brushed aside by Su Yan.
From the sidelines, Lucy and Erza watched with wide eyes.
They could tell that Jellal was indeed extremely powerful, yet compared to Su Yan, he was like a child flailing at an adult. The real reason was simple: Su Yan's strength was just too great.
"Looks like your time's almost up, so let's end this fight," Su Yan remarked.
"Don't get cocky! You still can't follow my speed. In five minutes, Etherion will strike—and everyone will die!!"
"Everyone will die? That's not certain. Isn't the Tower of Heaven designed to collect and convert magic power?"
"What?!!"
All who heard this stared in shock. Jellal was stunned that Su Yan even knew his plan.
Erza finally grasped why Jellal let the Council's attack proceed after building the Tower. It was meant to convert Etherion's power into the tower's own—possibly enough to reach the required 2.7 billion units of magic power.
Jellal eyed Su Yan warily. "I can't believe you'd even know that. So you must understand you'd better not damage the Tower of Heaven any further, or it won't be able to absorb all of Etherion's magic. We'll all be finished."
"Boom--!!"
Su Yan suddenly stamped down, shattering the floor beneath his feet.
"You scum!!" Jellal roared. "Are you insane?! You know this tower determines everyone's life or death, but you're deliberately ruining it!"
A slight smirk curved Su Yan's lips. He looked at Jellal. "You really care about this tower."
"You bloodthirsty b*****d! I spent eight years building it!"
Jellal cursed. Of course he cared; it had consumed eight years of his life to complete. Eight years were no trivial matter.
"Meteor!!"
Jellal rushed Su Yan, launching punches at him.
"You built it?"
Su Yan also clenched his fist, meeting Jellal's blow head-on.
"Boom!!!"
A terrifying shockwave exploded from the collision point.
"You deceived others into building it! Do you know how many people suffered because of you?!"
Jellal recoiled, firing golden starlights as he retreated.
"Boom boom boom!!"
"Boom!" Su Yan charged through the exploding lights unscathed and closed in on Jellal.
"D-Damn!!" Realizing the danger, Jellal tried using Meteor again to slip away.
"Om--!" A new surge of Conqueror's Haki flared from Su Yan, shaking Jellal's spirit and disrupting his concentration. Magic required focus to cast.
In that instant, Su Yan appeared before Jellal, whose only option was to raise his arms in a desperate block.
"What!"
Su Yan's forearms and fists darkened with Armament Haki. Conqueror's Haki crackled too. All of it happened in an instant.
With a single blow, Su Yan's fist slammed into Jellal's abdomen.
"Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!"
"Boom boom boom!!"
Several walls in a row crashed apart.
After a moment, Jellal stood up, eyes blazing with rage. "Unforgivable! Unforgivable!"
He raised his hands overhead, palms together. A menacing aura radiated from him, coalescing overhead into a black hole-like vortex, threatening to devour everything.
"W-What kind of magic is that?!"
"Shadows...stretching backward from the light source?" Lucy blurted in amazement, seeing that her and Erza's shadows now extended in an unnatural direction.
"Om----!"
Su Yan unleashed another wave of Conqueror's Haki, swiftly forming a massive Haki-infused fist in front of him.
"Be crushed and vanish!!"
"Celestial Magic: Grand Chariot!!"
