Extra’s Rebirth: I Will Create A Good Ending For The Heroines

Chapter 370: Elf Bitch

'…Fuck.'

Azel hit the water so hard that all the air was knocked out of him.

The shock from the cold hit his lungs immediately, and he couldn't breathe.

His body convulsed as he tried to take a breath, but there was nothing and worse yet, his lungs were already tightening painfully.

'I'll just fall to the bottom and use my legs to jump up,' he thought, forcing himself to calm down.

But the turbulence made everything worse.

The currents tossed him in every direction, and he couldn't tell which way was up or if he was anywhere near solid ground.

'…I didn't survive all those things the world threw at me just to die by drowning,' he thought bitterly.

His body continued sinking, slower now, the weight of the water pressing heavily against him.

His vision started to blur. It was only a matter of time before his body gave in and he took an involuntary breath of water.

Then, suddenly… something grabbed his hand.

A powerful grip yanked him upward.

The pressure shifted and the light above grew brighter, and the next second he broke through the surface with a gasp.

Azel coughed violently, dragging in lungfuls of air as he was pulled onto the shore.

Water poured out of his mouth as he rolled to his side with his chest heaving.

"I never knew I'd like air this much…" he muttered weakly, still coughing as he looked up.

His rescuer was kneeling beside him… Professor Mynes.

"Are you crazy?" she scolded immediately with her eyes showing annoyance. "Why didn't you use the enchantment? Were you planning to die by drowning?"

"Well, it's your fault," Azel said between coughs, rubbing his neck. "You pushed me into the water without warning."

"I g-gu— it's still your fault, idiot!" she stammered, puffing her cheeks before softening. "That was my first kiss… I gave it to you…"

Azel paused mid-cough, blinking. "It's just a kiss."

Her face turned so red it looked like she might explode. "Just a kiss?! Don't you know what a kiss is? It's a declaration of feelings toward the person you like!"

She huffed, crossing her arms. "I wouldn't let any random guy kiss me… hell, I swear I'd burn their tongue and lips if they tried it. You can even ask around, I've done it to some guy before but I don't remember his name."

Then she turned away with the tips of her ears pink. "I only allowed it because it's you. So… since I've said I like you… do you like me too?"

Azel blinked, momentarily stunned… First it was Sybil and now it was Mynes, who next Flare?

Mynes looked down with her hands fidgeting slightly.

'I won't be like mother,' she thought.

She and her mother were doing the same thing… seducing their students. Her mother had done her's in far worse ways which was why she was here now but Mynes wanted to be different.

She wasn't going to force herself on him… That was what made her better than women like that.

"I…" Azel started, but before he could finish, a soft hand slipped into his.

He turned and saw Sylvia standing there with her hair glowing under the sun. Her swimsuit looked wet and the water made the fabric wet leaving little to the imagination.

"Come on, Azel." she said in her usual formal tone. "Quit flirting with the Professor and come practice the enchantment with me."

Mynes froze.

Sylvia gave her a polite nod. "Also, Professor, thank you for saving Azel. I was about to do it myself, but thankfully you came through."

Before either of them could react, she tugged on Azel's hand and started walking toward the shore.

"Wait, Sylvia, I—"

"Focus," she said simply, cutting him off. "We need to master the enchantment before class ends or do you want to fail the enchantment class?"

Azel let out a quiet sigh and followed along.

Behind them, Mynes's smile twitched.

'I knew it… that elf bitch is venomous,' she thought darkly, watching Sylvia pull Azel away. 'Right when I was about to get him, another obstacle appears... Man, fuck these elves. I know she was listening in on our conversation.'

She stood there for a moment longer before sighing and turning away, pretending to check on the other students, though her mood was visibly ruined.

Sylvia stopped once they were knee-deep in the water and turned toward Azel, still holding his hand.

She was going to ensure that he didn't sink again if it was the last thing she did.

"Now," she began, "let's begin the Heavy Water Enchant. Follow my guidance carefully."

She traced a series of symbols in the air which was the Enchantment. "The enchantment works by reinforcing your mana barrier against external water pressure and creating an internal circulation of oxygen."

"I see," Azel said, watching her movements.

Sylvia nodded. "Try to copy this. Channel your mana through your chest first, not your throat. If you start with the wrong circulation, you'll suffocate before it activates. It's just like the basic Water Enchant."

"Sounds encouraging," he muttered.

"Just focus."

Azel did as she said.

His fingers moved through the air, tracing the same symbols she had drawn. The symbols glowed then flared to life, forming a circle around his body before sinking into his skin.

He inhaled deeply as the enchantment took hold.

The water pressure around him lessened slightly.

"Good," Sylvia said softly with a wide smile. "Now, submerge yourself. I'll keep watch in case something goes wrong."

He nodded and dove under.

The world turned blue again, but this time it wasn't suffocating.

The air circulated smoothly through his lungs, just like she said it would and the current brushed past his skin, it was completely harmless now.

He swam deeper for a few seconds before resurfacing beside Sylvia.

"It works," he said.

By the time class ended, the students had all returned to shore… Some were exhausted and some were still soaked from failed attempts at the enchantment.

Mynes clapped her hands together, announcing the end of the lesson, her voice slightly too cheerful to hide her frustration.

"Alright, that's enough for today! Everyone did well!" she said with forced enthusiasm. "Class dismissed!"

The students began dispersing, laughing and chatting as they left the beach.

Azel and Sylvia walked side by side toward the exit gate

"Finally, I'm done with the day," Azel muttered later that afternoon, sitting in the cafeteria.

The place was mostly empty now since it was closing time.

He sat alone at a table near the window with his food half-eaten.

He leaned back, exhaling slowly. "Now all I have to do is wait for the First Calamity to start… whenever it does. I'll evacuate my women first, I don't need anything to happen to them."

He stared out the window. 'Was Mynes really serious…? Just how many girls have fallen in love with me? I'm sure I can't count them on one hand… Damn, I'm really going to have a lot of kids, aren't I?'

Still he took a deep breath.

"There's nothing that could go wrong now."

He had barely finished the sentence when the cafeteria doors burst open.

Nari came rushing inside with her eyes wide in panic. She scanned the room frantically until her gaze locked on him.

"Az— Azel!" she shouted, nearly tripping as she ran toward him.

Azel stood up immediately. "What's wrong?"

She grabbed his arm, her eyes filled with fear. "Lori got kidnapped!"

"…What?"

And suddenly… the day got a little darker.
