Chapter 369: A Beach Episode [II]
"Professor, you've already taught us an enchantment to breathe underwater," a second-year said while a glowing blue circle formed in his palm.
It glowed and revealed the shape of a teardrop in his palm. "You called it Water Enchant. You said it helps convert water to oxygen so we can breathe underwater… We already had this class almost a month ago and you made sure to drill it into our heads completely."
It was obvious what Mynes was trying to do, even a baby could see it.
She would have them repeat what they'd already learned so she could enjoy a relaxing day at the beach.
But the second-years weren't about to let that happen… She needed to teach them something new.
"Ooh?" Mynes tilted her head with a teasing smile. "Since I've taught you already, then use it in the water."
The student smirked confidently, cracking his neck as he stepped toward the sea on his bare feet. As long as this was water, he was confident that the Enchantment would help him prevail.
"Alright then." He inhaled deeply and shouted, "Water Enchant!"
A wave of mana burst from his body, wrapping him in a bright blue glow.
The students watched as he leapt into the water with a splash. For a moment, everything was calm.
The surface of the ocean rippled peacefully and it was going to be alright.
Then, in an instant, the entire sea turned wild.
Massive waves crashed against the shore, sending sprays of water onto the students.
The once-gentle ocean became turbulent, spinning violently as though a beast stirred beneath the surface.
Several students jumped back in alarm.
And then, the boy shot out of the water, gasping and coughing violently.
He landed face-first on the sand right where he had been standing before.
"I… I almost drowned!" he wheezed, coughing up mouthfuls of seawater.
Mynes grinned, completely unbothered.
"Great," she said cheerfully. "Now, is there anyone else doubting the authenticity of this enchantment?"
"No!" the entire class shouted in unison.
"Good."
…
Mynes stretched her arms lazily, standing at the edge of the shore as if posing for a painting.
The morning sun glowed against her tanned skin, and her swimsuit barely managed to contain her curves.
Sylvia glanced down at herself and frowned slightly.
"My chest doesn't look as big as hers…" she muttered under her breath. When was she going to grow some bonkers as well?
Her eyes drifted toward Azel, who was standing nearby, staring silently at the waves.
"Azel might not know it," she murmured to herself, "but he looks really cute when he's quiet."
Mynes turned back to the students, holding out her hand.
A new enchantment formed in her palm… this one a bright azure sphere with three droplets of light rotating inside it.
"This," she announced, "is the Heavy Water Enchant."
The students leaned in.
"The regular Water Enchant is great for light conditions," Mynes explained, "but when you're dealing with turbulent waters that could crush you or suck you into a vortex, you'll need something stronger. The Heavy Water Enchant reinforces the mana barrier and stabilizes oxygen flow while neutralizing external pressure."
She lifted the glowing enchantment higher. "In short, it keeps you alive where normal enchantments would fail. Feel free to test it out… we'll be using it until class ends!"
Flare sighed quietly, her crimson hair glinting under the sunlight. She stared at the enchantment without much interest.
'Why can't she just teach something that'll flow with my fighting style?' she thought.
She loved the class… Mynes was one of her favorite instructors but she couldn't help feeling frustrated. This kind of magic wouldn't help her in combat.
When would she ever need to fight underwater?
Mynes strolled past her, stopping briefly to whisper, "If you pass this with flying colors, I'll teach you a maximization en—"
She didn't even finish before Flare sprinted toward the water.
Her hands glowed with mana as she jumped straight into the sea, leaving a trail of golden light behind her.
A few other students gasped, then followed suit.
Sylvia smiled faintly and ran after them as well, her hair fluttering in the sea breeze.
In just a few seconds, most of the class had dashed into the ocean, leaving only Mynes and Azel standing on the sand.
Mynes turned toward him with a curious smile. "Hm? Why haven't you tried the enchantment yet?"
Azel glanced at the waves, which were now calming down as the students activated their new spells.
"I figured you wanted to talk to me since you kept looking this way."
Mynes's smile widened. She stepped closer, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear.
"Do you like what you see?" she asked teasingly, running her hands slowly down her body and even pressing her breasts. "I wore this specific swimsuit just for you, you know."
Azel rolled his eyes and looked away. "Yeah, right."
He started to walk toward the water, ready to try the enchantment, but Mynes stepped forward again, her tone turning more sultry than ever.
"Hey, look at me," she said softly.
When he turned around, she reached out, grabbed him by the shoulder, and pulled him down before he could react.
Her lips pressed against his.
For a brief moment, Azel froze completely.
Her lips were warm and soft but also sweet, though the taste that lingered made him raise an eyebrow internally.
'Her lips taste like… alcohol?' he thought, blinking as she pulled away.
Mynes smirked, her cheeks were completely pink and she was trying as hard as possible not to be embarassed. "There," she said. "A little reward for being my favorite student."
Azel stared at her blankly. "…You were drinking alcohol, weren't you?"
"What? No!" she said quickly.
"I see. Maybe you're just high."
"I'm not high!" she shouted defensively, her cheeks flushed red.
Before Azel could say anything else, she placed both hands on his chest and pushed with all her strength.
He barely had time to react before he was launched backward and straight into the water.
"Oops…" Mynes muttered, covering her mouth as she watched him splash into the turbulent sea. "Sorry!"
