Extra's Death: I Am the Son of Hades

Kevin's expression was serious as he looked at the pocket universes he had created.

Neo's existence was now split between countless pocket universes.

"How long until he can break free?" Kevin asked.

"A day at most, a few hours at the minimum," Severant answered.

He had been contracted with Kevin after Sword Saint Kane was slayed during the war.

And as Kevin was the new contractor, he needed to help him.

"A few hours… if we hurry, we should be able to throw him out of this universe," Kevin said as he slashed and destroyed the Independent Space Neo had created.

As soon the Independent space was destroyed, a very gravely injured Supreme leader of Alliance and a clone of Neo was revealed.

Kevin had already deployed another one of his techniques.

The Cosmic Laws converged, disintegrating the clone.

It was a technique that destroyed clones. This was the benefit of rewards from System. All of them, while not on the level of Authorities, were just one level below and worked with support of Cosmic Laws.

That made them quite a bit stronger than normal techniques.

"Hide," Kevin said a single word to the Supreme Leader of Alliance and flew off in the space at high speed.

Cosmic Laws wrapped around his figure as he boosted his speed to a degree impossible for a Stage 6 God.

But Kevin didn't stop there.

"Zain, come," he spoke, calling one of his Technique Spirit.

A light shot of him, transforming into wings made of light behind his back.

His speed increased by several folds again.

"I don't think this is going to work," Severant said.

"It will. There are an infinite number of universes. If we can throw him out of our universe, he will not know which universe to come back to.

"This is without regarding the time it would take him to gain strength of inter-universe travel," Kevin said.

He continued, "The only problem… is the Supreme of Darkness.

"She might try to crush this universe, but I can only hope that she will take Neo when he is outside the universe, and for uniting him with her, she would let go of our universe," he said.

"If you are worried about the Mad Supreme, then there is no need to. She is only moving on instincts now. Unless you truly kill Neo, or come close to it, she will never descend or try to destroy this universe."

"That's not how—"

"That is how it works, boy," Severant said. "You don't know how lucky your universe is. Every second countless universes are devoured by the Supreme Darkness.

"Many of them had formed alliances to stop the invasion of darkness and its children, but they still amount to nothing.

"Even Eternals are helpless against it. All they can do is slow it down.

"This universe is protected from her by the Technique Spirit Hades left behind. That's why she has never aimed for this universe," Severant explained.

"Hades left behind a Technique Spirit? But 'I' said that this universe can be crushed by the Supreme of Darkness if Neo is punted out of it," Kevin said.

He knew his plan was dangerous, but Throwing neo out of universe and throwing him to either Supreme of darkness or other universes was the best plan he currently had.

He had two more plans, but they were worse. Much worse.

After all, there were only a few ways to counter a Heavenbreaker.

"I don't know who this 'I' is but they clearly don't know everything. For one, it is impossible to know everything," Severant said.

"Let's not talk about 'I' for now. What do you mean this plan is bad? If this universe is protected by the Technique Spirit left behind by Hades, then Throwing Neo out of here is the best plan," Kevin said.

"I doubt he will stay sealed until you can reach the boundary of Golden Domain, exit it, and then reach the boundary of the Shattered Horizons," Severant said. "Boy, heed my advice and call the Eternals to deal with Neo."

"They might try to erase the whole universe," Kevin said.

Even if they wouldn't, Kevin didn't want their help.

Calling for Eternals would be his third and last-ditch plan.

Yes, calling them would wound his pride.

But he would do anything to complete his Quest, and return Vivienne's Authority to her.

"Yes, they can erase this universe. While the Technique Spirit of Hades is protecting this universe, it's specifically made to stop the Supreme of Darkness. It will be of little help against the Eternals. However…."

Severant suddenly became silent.

"What is it?" Kevin asked.

"I can't tell you the reason, but trust me, and call the Eternals," Severant said.

Kevin silently looked at Severant.

While he did want to believe Severant, he knew about his past together with Neo.

There was a chance that calling Eternals was sort of scheme from Severant to help Neo.

Although he had no idea of how and why Eternals' being called could help Neo, he refused to take chances.

"I'll think about it. We should first try—"

Kevin's words died when the pocket universes started to crack.

"…What?"

Not even two minutes had passed. How was Neo already on the verge of breaking out of the pocket universes?

This was far early than their estimates.

How was he doing it?

Kevin gritted his teeth and stopped flying.

Throwing Neo out of his universe was impossible at this rate.

Neo would escape the pocket universes first.

It was time for plan B.

Kevin began to create more pocket universes.

Then he put the pocket universes Neo was inside into the new pocket universes.

"You… what are you doing?" Severant asked.

"Forcing him to waste energy." Kevin answered.

"What?"

"Even if someone destroys the pocket universe with proper techniques, they will spend more energy that the one who created pocket universe. And Neo is simply brute forcing his way of out of the pocket universes. I don't know if he doesn't know proper techniques, or if this is his arrogance, but this is our chance to force him to spend more energy."

Everyone in the Alliance had been briefed about Neo's energy reserves and the technique he used to increase those energy reserves.

Neo's main energy reserves was Loan.

[Loan].

While the technique looked to be limitless, it did have a theoretical limit.

If Kevin forced Neo to drawn too much energy from future and use all that energy, Neo would become unable to draw more energy for a large period of time.

This period of time could be anywhere from millions of years to higher.

'The total amount of energy he currently can use should be around the reserves of a young universe.'

That meant Kevin had to force Neo to use enough energy that could outpace the energy usage of a young universe.

It was…. possible.

Kevin was an apostle.

He had completing Quests for millions of years and stacking all the rewards.

Moreover, Neo was arrogantly brute forcing his way out of the pocket universes, which forced him to use a lot more energy that he needed.

'I can win.'

Kevin took a deep breath and spoke, "Open the energy reservoirs.

"Dismantle all mechanic creations for energy.

"Use the genesis plant for…"

One by one Kevin began to activate the countless rewards he gained form Quests.

His energy rose to an unprecedented level.

It was an absurd scene.

A God was trying to overpower a Heavenbreaker in terms of energy generation.

This was something akin to mortal man trying to destroy the sky.

It was an impossible battle.

And yet, Kevin refused to back down.

He would win.

He had to.

This was the only way he could bring the fragments of Authority back to Vivienne.

Only that would stop Vivienne from drowning in grief.

With her Authority, she would be able to bring back the Kevin she loved. The Kevin who lived in the 9th Eon.

Thinking of her future with "Kevin" of 9th Eon, Kevin bit his lips.

He wanted to live with her more.

He loved her.

But he always knew he was a replacement of something she could never have.

'No.'

'There is no need to think about useless things.'

'I have to focus on my goal.

'If I can help her have her Authority back, she should be able to bring back Ashborn Kevin. The 9th and 10th Eon have fused so it's possible.'

Even if that meant he would be discarded.

If that helped her truly smile once more.

Kevin would gladly do it.
