Extra's Death: I Am the Son of Hades

Chapter 769: He Who Must Not Be Named

Even the Alliance had never truly trusted him.

To them, he was just a useful tool. A traitor who could betray again if it suited him.

"You were miserable, even when you thought you'd won."

Neo didn't feel rage.

Only a faint pity for how far a being could fall.

But then the world around him shifted.

Neo suddenly felt something change deep inside his existence.

The Eye of Existence Watcher — the same one Xel'thar had stolen — was merging with him.

A wave of energy pulsed through his body.

His head felt heavy, his vision distorted.

Then, alarms started ringing in his mind.

It felt like he was being connected to something enormous. Something far beyond comprehension.

A wire, stretching into a vast unknown, linked him directly to a sleeping giant.

And that presence…

It was old, wounded, and resting.

But as Neo connected, it stirred.

A deep voice echoed inside his mind. It was heavy, distant, and filled with authority that could crush stars.

"Who is there?"

Neo froze.

The pressure from that voice alone nearly shattered his thoughts.

Then the voice grew clearer.

"A… Heavenbreaker? Is that you, Ultris?"

Golden lights began to materialize around Neo.

The alarms in Neo's mind exploded.

His instincts screamed at him to stop, and cut the connection immediately.

That golden glow. That familiar pressure.

Neo remembered it.

It was the same golden presence he had seen when he met the Time Looper Void.

The ancient being that had trapped himself in endless cycles to fight this very enemy.

This was the same one.

The one the Time Looper had been fighting since time unknown.

"Heavenly Records," Neo shouted, clutching his head, "cut off the connection!"

No answer came.

The existence on the other side was awakening, slowly opening its eyes after ages of sleep.

Neo's body trembled.

Intense anger rose from within him.

He quickly realized it wasn't his own.

The feelings came from his bloodline.

He could feel his heart pounding painfully as his blood reacted on its own.

His ancient blood remembered something. A battle that had once taken place between their kind and this entity.

The mark of Ouroboros on his back suddenly burned.

The ancient serpent's symbol twisted violently, reacting to the same presence.

Darkness poured out of Neo in thick waves.

The energy twisted and coiled like living shadows, lashing against the ground.

"CuttheconnectionNeo!"

The voice of the cacophony screamed in his mind.

Its tone was sharp, desperate, almost panicked.

It was warning him to cut the connection before the Existence of He Who Must Not Be Named woke up.

"LetgooftheeyeCutitoffnowBeforeitwakesup!"

Neo tried. He really tried.

He focused his will, trying to separate himself from the Eye of Existence Watcher.

But the connection didn't break.

Instead, bright screens appeared before his eyes, flickering rapidly.

[Error! Unable to cut the connection!]

[The link is being maintained from the other side!]

Neo gritted his teeth and tried to rip the eye away from his soul, but the link was being forcefully maintained from the other side.

"You… have grown weaker, Ultris," the voice said again.

The entity was still half asleep, speaking as if it was dreaming.

But the sound of its words made the space around Neo distort.

He staggered.

His breath came out in heavy bursts.

The Eye of Existence Watcher glowed violently.

Golden light crawled up his arm, burning through his veins.

Neo's surroundings began to shake.

The space around him twisted, and every layer of existence seemed to ripple in pain.

The being was locating him through the Eye.

Golden energy burst around Neo.

And at that same moment, the seed of Darkness inside Neo — the one that had been silent for so long — began to tremble.

It pulsed once.

Then again.

And before Neo could react, it exploded with energy.

Darkness surged through his body like a flood, clashing against the golden light.

His vision blurred.

His head spun.

He couldn't tell where the darkness ended and where his own energy began.

The golden light pulsed before being swallowed by the spreading blackness.

It moved through his veins, his bones, even his thoughts.

It felt alive.

He gasped, trying to force it down, but it only grew stronger.

His body trembled as if something inside him was tearing apart.

Then he realized what it was.

"Moraine…" he breathed, his voice faint.

This was her doing.

But how?

How could she control the Elemental Seed of Darkness that rested within his Core?

Only he should've been able to control it.

Yet, somehow, she had reached into him, twisting its nature and empowering it to a self-destructive level.

The Elemental Seed flared wildly, feeding on itself.

Neo felt his own Existence being eaten away, bit by bit.

A cold emptiness spread through his chest as part of his existence vanished.

He tried to push back, but his strength was fading fast.

The darkness devoured more and more until it began eating itself, collapsing inward like a dying star.

Neo gritted his teeth and forced his focus back, summoning what little power remained.

But the Seed of Darkness was gone.

It was completely devoured, leaving only a hollow ache where it used to be.

His breathing turned ragged. Every breath burned.

The golden light that had been pouring from him flickered once, then vanished like smoke.

The part of his Existence where the Eye of Existence Watcher was connected to was devoured by the empowered Seed of Darkness.

He fell to one knee, clutching his chest.

"What was—"

The words died in his throat as a sharp pain tore through his back.

Neo's eyes widened.

He looked down and saw the tip of a sword pushing out of his chest, glinting faintly in the fading light.

Kevin was standing behind him, both hands gripping the blade.

Neo's voice came out strained. "Kevin…?"

Kevin didn't answer.

His expression was cold, and focused.

He twisted the sword Severant and pulled it free in one motion.

Neo stumbled forward, coughing.

His knees hit the ground.

Kevin stepped closer, holding Severant tightly.

The blade hummed with power, reacting to Neo's weakened existence.

"You were distracted," Kevin said quietly.

Neo tried to stand, but his body wouldn't respond.

His Existence was too weakened after Moraine devoured a huge part of him to save him from the being connected to Eye of Existence Watcher.

Kevin raised the sword again.

The edge shimmered, slicing through the air with a faint ripple that distorted space around them.

The blade came down.

Neo's body split into countless fragments of Existence, scattering across the air like broken glass.

Severant's Authority cut him into too many fragments.

Each fragment flickered weakly, glowing faintly before fading into shadow.

Kevin didn't hesitate.

He moved his hand, drawing runes in the air with the blood still dripping from Severant's edge.

The symbols flared to life, forming small spheres that shimmered with warped light.

He pointed the sword toward the fragments.

"Temporal Bifurcation."

One by one, the fragments of Neo's existence were pulled into the glowing spheres.

Each fragment screamed silently before vanishing, locked inside its own isolated timefield.

He wasn't putting Neo inside a time seal, but instead he was putting each Existence he had cut apart from Neo into a separate pocket universe timeline.

"…!"

Kevin felt a resistance.

He was surprised Neo could fight back even in that state.

But Kevin had come prepared.

He took out another sword. A demon.

The sword shone, creating into countless copies of itself, and each copy stabbed into a pocket universe timeline Kevin had created.

The sword sealed the pocket universe shut, cutting off its timeline from the main universe's timeline.
