Extra's Curse: Servants Of Will

Chapter 60: Lady of Flowers [01]

It was the same creature he had first met in the beginning, when he had stepped beyond the walls that separated the land of beast creatures and monsters, the same one who had almost melted his heart and disappeared into nothingness.

His heart shivered. What the hell was it doing here in such a situation, how ironic?

Did someone else come before him? Probably not. Then why the hell was the creature in such a state?

And at the same instant, to the surprise of his very existence, a calm and soft female voice hummed through the atmosphere.

"Boy, you have chosen the right path by coming through this door. Be grateful to the Lord for making you choose this room."

Ibaan's eyes dilated. His mouth opened and closed, then opened again. Feeling wary and puzzled, he stuttered, "W-who are you?"

The soft female voice resounded once again, "Could you not see? I am in sight of you. I am the Dystopian. I am the Lady of Flowers."

Ibaan found himself in bewilderment. How ironic it was — facing an unknown creature that spoke like a human, even using a human voice. He should have been terrified of such a being, one that could talk like a person, which meant it was far more dangerous than anything he had met before.

However, the case was quite the opposite. Ibaan felt safe here, facing such a creature instead of feeling fear. It was just like when he had seen the Lady of Flowers for the first time.

And at the same time, words left his mouth, softly repeating the name.

"Lady of Flowers?"

"Yes, you heard it right. As you must be thinking why I am in such a situation, the answer is simple — it was a fight, a great fight between the Lord of the Monsters and the Lady of the Monsters. I have lost all of my companion Ladies, however there are also no Lords left. I extinguished them."

Ibaan's expression froze.

'A fight between the Lords and Ladies of the monsters?'

How ironic it was, really!

But was the creature not in fine form when he had seen her for the first time? Yes, it was. So how come they had a great fight yet without any anomalies?

So it raised a simple and obvious question. Without wasting more time, he simply inquired, his brows furrowing.

"Lady, how are you in such a situation if you were perfectly fine when you appeared when I first stepped outside the walls? And how did you have a fight without showing any anomalies?"

The lady's calm voice sighed, "Yes, I did appear there for a matter of seconds, but that was before a minute of the fight. And the fight did not happen here but somewhere else whose name I do not know. Our bodies were physically here, but mentally there, which is the very uniqueness of the Ladies and Lords of the monsters."

'Somewhere else? Where could it be?' Ibaan pondered.

"Anyways, you are wasting your time. Come and take my life and ascend higher. I cannot bear this pain and situation anymore."

'Huh?'

A creature asking to end its own life.

'Strange!'

"But—"

His voice was cut off by a wave of wind.

However, he was not heartless. The creature did not attack him, so why should he?

But the creature, even though it spoke like a human, did not have a human heart. It could turn against him at any time, anywhere. It could even be plotting something right now to devour him and take his energy to survive. Ibaan could not fall for that.

With that thought in mind, he summoned the Utopian's Duke. Twisting his torso, he hurled the sword at the abdomen of the Lady of Flowers, his eyes cold as ice.

The Utopian's Duke pierced the abdomen of the beautiful creature, ending the life of the Lady of Flowers in that instant.

But to Ibaan's surprise, the Utopian's Duke could not extract any power from the creature, which likely meant the Lady of Flowers had great resistance.

And suddenly, a few panels appeared before him, the world around him glitching for a moment.

[You have received a bond: Amane, Lady of Flowers]

Just as plenty of panels appeared one by one, his heart pounded each time with amazement. He was truly amazed by what was happening right now.

As the glitching ended, a question hit him—why was he not back home in the real world yet? Shouldn't killing the Lord or the Lady of a tower or creature make him ascend and return to the real world?

So why didn't he go back?

His heart shivered once again as he came to a conclusion.

Did his body actually appear fully inside the realm of the Dead Eye of the Fallens, and now he couldn't return to the real world?

The reality struck him like frightening lightning.

'Damnation!'

How was it possible?

What exactly happened when he had almost died after being crushed by the three filthy creatures, the Beast-monster Uman?

Or to be more real—had he already died and resurrected once again, and his soul entered completely into this realm?

All the excitement rushing through his heart was replaced with guilt, sorrow, and regret.

Just then, before he could even sink into his grief, he heard a familiar voice from the front—the soft female voice, now much clearer.

"Thanks for the help, Boy. What's your name?"
