Exploring Technology in a Wizard World

Chapter 850: A Fight?

"Gulp!"

In the camp's room, Witch Demon Elder Ah Fu drank all the sweet tea in his cup in one gulp, showing a satisfied expression. Then, he refilled it with water, added sugar cubes and honey, preparing to continue savoring it.

Just then, there was a shout coming from outside the room, as if calling for him.

"Sir, sir..."

"It seems to be those two people from before." Witch Demon Elder raised an eyebrow, recognizing the voices of Didak and Bo Fei. Without hesitation, he quickly walked out the door.

Once outside, Witch Demon Elder saw Didak and Bo Fei carrying a bag towards him. It seemed like there was something alive inside, struggling continuously, making "thump thump" sounds.

Witch Demon Elder Ah Fu's mouth gaped a little as he silently raised his evaluation of Didak and Bo Fei considerably.

Originally, he thought they were bringing his "companion" over, but he didn't expect them to directly capture it and even put it in a bag.

This world seems a lot crazier than the one he used to live in. At least, people in that former world rarely dared to do such things.

Witch Demon Elder Ah Fu stepped forward, approaching Didak and Bo Fei to watch them put the bag down.

Didak pointed at the bag and said, "Sir, the companion you wanted... is inside. Guaranteed to meet your requirements—golden, young, energetic, and most importantly, docile. We brought it all the way from the bushes over there, and it didn't make a sound."

"Bushes? Didn't make a sound?" Upon hearing Didak's words, Witch Demon Elder suddenly felt something was off. He hurriedly squatted down, opened the bag, and out popped a large dog's head.

The dog's head looked at Witch Demon Elder, Witch Demon Elder looked at the dog's head, and they stared at each other for a long time, speechless.

Dog's Head: "..."

Witch Demon Elder: "..."

On the side, Bo Fei noticed something was wrong and tugged on Didak's clothes, whispering, "Big Brother Didak, I think you're really mistaken. What this Sir wanted wasn't a big golden dog, but a golden-haired woman."

"Impossible," Didak still didn't quite believe it and muttered, "This Sir is so old, how could he still think about such things? Normal people would have lost interest by this age, wouldn't they? Besides, Sir mentioned 'companion,' not 'pleasure.'

Sir shouldn't be so vulgar, shouldn't be like us, right? And it's not like we have golden-haired women around here. Even women are rare. All we see are rough fellows like us, even this dog we caught is male. If you want a woman, you'd have to go to the small town to look for Street Girls, but we both know what kind of people they are..."

As Bo Fei and Didak continued talking, Witch Demon Elder suddenly coughed.

Bo Fei and Didak nervously looked at Witch Demon Elder and asked, "Sir, what do you think of this dog..."

Witch Demon Elder took a deep breath, his expression changed several times before finally saying, "The dog? It's very nice! Yes, it's exactly what I wanted. You both did very well. I'll have Waltz reward you when there's a chance."

"Really?" Didak was a little surprised and pleased.

Bo Fei, on the other hand, was a bit astonished.

"Alright, alright, if you have things to do, go ahead." Witch Demon Elder waved his hand.

"Oh." Didak and Bo Fei dared not disobey and quickly left.

Witch Demon Elder watched them walk away, then turned his head, finally showing a somewhat exasperated expression. He extended a finger and tapped the golden dog's head fiercely, saying, "Damn dog, you're not what I wanted. I wanted a woman, a woman!"

The golden dog was tapped several times, yet it didn't bark, just showed a pitiful look. It opened its mouth, stuck out its tongue, and licked Witch Demon Elder's hand.

Witch Demon Elder's movement froze, he slowly withdrew his hand, looked at the dog, and sighed deeply. Shaking his head, he extinguished his previous thought and stepped towards the house.

The golden dog obediently followed along, accompanying Witch Demon Elder back into the house.

Glancing at the dog, Witch Demon Elder inexplicably thought, "Actually, having a dog, in some sense, might be better than having a woman. After all, women are so troublesome, but dogs aren't. Didn't I seem to have been seriously hurt because of a woman before...? Hmm, can't quite remember, it must've been a long time before I went to sleep..."

With this thought, Witch Demon Elder walked towards the seat in the room, preparing to continue drinking tea.

In the next moment, he saw a little girl in purple clothing occupying his seat, swinging her legs continuously.

It was Pandora!

Witch Demon Elder looked at Pandora, his eyebrows instantly raised, and with a stiff face, he asked, "Little devil, when did you arrive?"

"Just now," Pandora replied.

"What are you here for?" Witch Demon Elder asked, his tone very unfriendly, as he almost got played to death by Pandora before.

"Nothing much, just came to check if Richard has arrived." Pandora said.

"He's not here, you should leave." Witch Demon Elder waved his hand to dismiss her, while mockingly saying, "Aren't you very smart? Then you should remember that Richard fellow is scheduled to come tomorrow evening, not tonight."

"Of course I remember," Pandora said. "But I just wanted to check if he came early."

"Also," Pandora added, "I wanted to see if you have anything for holding ink. The bottle I was using got accidentally crushed when I picked it up, so I'm troubled about what to use to hold the ink."

Saying this, Pandora lifted her right hand, and only then did Witch Demon Elder notice that Pandora's small hand was stained black with ink.

Seeing this, Witch Demon Elder felt no sympathy, only sneered, "It's good it broke anyway, because I have no ink bottles for you to use here. After all, unlike you, I'm not forced to do weird homework. I don't need to write, so why would I need ink?"

"Nonsense," Pandora said with a pout, "You obviously need to write too, making magic scrolls for Richard."

"..." Witch Demon Elder was somewhat at a loss for words but didn't want to concede, "Anyway, I won't lend you anything—I'll lend it to anyone else but not to you, and I'll order Waltz not to loan you anything."

"Well, I insist on borrowing it," Pandora said petulantly, suddenly spotting the teapot on the table. Her eyes lit up, "Hmm, that's nice, it can hold a lot of ink." After she said that, she grabbed it, poured out the tea, and was about to leave with it.

Witch Demon Elder got angry, shouting, "You stop right there, put that down, that's for my tea, not for storing ink! Put it down now, or else I'll be rude!"

As he spoke, he lifted a hand in a threatening manner.

Unexpectedly, Pandora showed no fear, her eyes sparkled as she looked at him, "What, you want a fight?" Her face displayed an eager expression.
