Chapter 71: Blood
The shot hit Ben directly in the head.
He never expected to be greeted with a bullet to the head, especially since he had rammed the door while crouched.
The man who shot him must have had incredible aim.
The force of the impact sent Ben's head backward, and he collapsed to the ground.
"Boss!!" Suzanne screamed in terror.
"Alright, we got him," one of the men cheered.
"The boss is gonna reward us big time!"
The tall, dark-skinned man who had shot Ben frowned and stepped closer to him.
As he got nearer, his eyes widened in disbelief.
The bullet that should have pierced Ben's skull and ended his life was lodged in his forehead.
It had penetrated most of the way but failed to go all the way through.
The man reacted instantly, raising his gun and firing repeatedly at Ben without mercy.
But Ben's eyes suddenly snapped open, and his lips moved rapidly.
The man's bullets struck the ground where a dark aura emerged.
Alarmed, he lifted his weapon, scanning his surroundings in a panic.
Ben's figure materialized from his own shadow, and before his companions could warn him, Ben grabbed his head and slammed him against the wall.
His knee drove into the man's abdomen, and then he smashed his head into the ground.
Ben snatched the man's weapon and whispered again.
[Shadow Step]
In a blink of dark energy, he vanished and reappeared beside one of the men closest to Suzanne.
He aimed the gun at his head… and fired.
Blood and brain matter splattered through the air, but Ben didn't stop. He shot another man standing a few meters away.
The bullet struck his leg, and the man collapsed to the ground, cursing.
Ben vanished once more and reappeared behind the last man, gripping his face and twisting it violently.
It seemed he had used too much force, as the man's head spun multiple times, his neck folding in an unnatural way.
His head was barely attached to his body.
Ben walked past the man clutching his wounded leg in pain.
"You have no idea who you're messing with, kid!!"
Ben didn't utter a single word. He simply shot him in the head three times and tossed the gun aside.
Walking through the room, Ben ripped a metal rod from the wall—a decorative piece—and used it to pin the only surviving man against the wall.
"Arrrggggh!!"
Ben impaled the man and the wall with the iron rod, then bent the tip to prevent him from escaping—at the cost of some added pain.
He grabbed Hubert, who was bleeding out on the floor, and lifted him.
"Get on!" Ben showed his back to Suzanne, motioning for her to climb up. "It's not safe here anymore."
Suzanne nodded and climbed onto his back.
Ben carried them both with ease and ran toward the hospital.
Despite the extra weight, he barely slowed down compared to his first attempt and quickly handed Hubert over to the doctors.
Fortunately, not just anyone could become a doctor in this world.
The ones truly qualified to reign in this profession were those who had awakened the healing element.
Though common doctors still existed, those with the healing element were the most valued.
For them, injuries like Hubert's were nothing.
Ben and Suzanne waited in the hallway.
Suzanne was trembling, and Ben tried to calm her by placing a hand on her shoulder.
But when he did, he realized both of his hands were covered in blood.
Ben stared at his bloodstained hands, then at the ceiling of the emergency room.
Is this how I'm going to live my life?
Surrounded by slaughter, death, hospitals, and prison bars?
For a brief moment, his resolve wavered. Just for a moment.
Then, a sudden image flashed through his mind.
The image of himself—humiliated, treated like a dog.
The puddle of milk on the floor that he had been forced to drink while Charly held him by a tie, using it like a leash.
That awful, wretched feeling of humiliation and the sheer powerlessness of being unable to change his fate.
His momentary hesitation vanished in an instant, and his eyes sharpened.
His bloodied hands clenched tightly, embracing the crimson stains with satisfaction.
His aura shifted immediately—he was no longer a hesitant teenager. He was a monster who had accepted his nature and the life he had chosen the moment he started using his Evil System.
He was the villain, and he had to play his role better than anyone else!
Ben rose from the waiting area and began to walk.
"Where are you going?" Suzanne asked, still shaken.
Ben didn't turn around. He stood in the middle of the hallway.
It seemed like he hadn't heard her, as he didn't answer.
"You've been through a lot, Suzanne," Ben said after a pause. "It's best if you stay away from me. This will only bring you more trouble."
Ben exhaled deeply and continued walking, but Suzanne grabbed his shirt.
"It's true that I've been through a lot," she said, lowering her head as tears welled in her eyes. "But I have nowhere to go. I have no family, no place to call home."
"Even if I leave, I won't know what to do," Suzanne clenched her fists. "Besides… they won't stop hunting me."
She fell to her knees, sobbing.
"Please… let me stay with you!"
Ben's gaze was cold and emotionless.
"I don't want you to see what I'm about to do."
Suzanne stood up, her tear-filled eyes burning with determination.
"Let me help you!!"
Ben turned to face her and recognized that look in her eyes.
The same look he saw whenever he looked in the mirror.
She was no longer a naive girl. She was another soul, broken by this rotten society.
Ben stepped forward and extended his bloodstained hand for her to take.

Ben left the hospital, but he wasn't alone.
Behind him were not just Suzanne but also Cancerbero and the little husky.
He had overlooked these two small creatures before, but they had proven their worth and courage.
He could no longer see them as mere puppies.
Ben smirked.
Maybe we're more alike than I thought.
Ben entered the rundown motel where he had left the man pinned to the wall.
Upon entering the room, he found the man desperately trying to free himself from the iron rod—without success.
The man looked at Ben and immediately let go of the rod, his body trembling.
"You…"
Ben didn't respond.
He simply snapped his fingers. Cancerbero moved immediately, despite his slight limp.
He approached one of the corpses and began to devour it, bite by bite.
Husky curiously followed Cancerbero, dipping his tiny tongue into a puddle of blood.
His eyes lit up as he eagerly joined in, feasting on the bodies alongside Cancerbero.
The man watched in horror, his eyes wide as the two small dogs tore apart the three corpses.
Ben turned to Suzanne and noticed her expression remained unchanged.
He grabbed the iron rod impaling the dark-skinned man and twisted it.
"Arrrgggh!!"
Ben's expression remained unchanged as the man screamed and writhed in agony. His brown eyes were devoid of emotion.
The man was terrified and tried to plead for mercy in vain.
Ben ripped out the rod with a single, brutal yank, and the man collapsed to the floor, clutching his chest.
"What do you want?" the man asked.
"Simple." Ben pushed the man's hand aside, exposing his wound, then shoved a finger into it. "I want every location, every hideout, the names of key people, and how to find them."
The man twisted in pain, gritting his teeth.
He seemed determined to stay silent.
"Do you really want to go through all the pain first?" Ben shook his head. "It's so much easier just to give me the information."
"Are you fucking insane?!" the man spat through clenched teeth. "Who in their right mind would dare challenge MK16?!"
"You criminals have such twisted logic." Ben stood up and snapped his fingers.
Cancerbero and Wolfy rushed to his feet.
The two little dogs had grown rapidly after their satisfying meal.
Ben pointed at the man's legs, and the dogs wasted no time. Each took a large bite, tearing flesh from his feet.
"ARRRRGGHH!!!"
The man screamed, but Ben grabbed his face, stifling his cries.
"You kill, rape, and destroy at will." Ben pulled him closer. "Today, you came for my life. Now, you will pay for it."
"You think you can do whatever you want without consequences?" Ben shouted in the man's face, spitting on him.
The man locked eyes with Ben and shuddered.
They were cold, bloodthirsty eyes—filled with madness unlike anything he had ever seen.
"Today, I'll put you in your fucking place!!"
Ben gave a signal, and Suzanne pulled down the man's pants while Cancerbero and Wolfy crept closer to his crotch.

Please let me know if there's any mistake I've missed.
I have a question for you, would you like two chapters a day?
At first I never thought I could make one chapter a day for a month but I managed it, if you help me I'll try hard to get more chapters out. What do you say?
