Chapter 95: Before the storm
"This fucking bitch?! She has been playing around with me all this time?! She had no intention on marrying me from the start?!"
"Yura, you despicable bitch! Do you not know that your father's life was saved by my father?! If it were not for my father, would your father still be alive? And if your father is dead, would you still be able to be in the position that you are in within your family?!"
"Also, do both you and your mother take me for a fool?! Do the both of you think that just by providing me with help and ensuring that I am able to reach level 30 as an adventurer, I would be thankful and be willing to call this engagement off?!"
"If I successfully married Yura and ended up becoming the legitimate son-in-law of Han Family, becoming level 30 as an adventurer is just something that will end up happening naturally, and yet, both of these bitches are thinking of recompensating me for my father's sacrifice by 'helping' me get to level 30 as an adventurer?!"
"Fuck, fuck, fuck!"
"All these times that I have been showing care and affection for Yura, she must have been looking at me like I was a fool!"
"Ahhh!!!"
Upon thinking up to here, and while listening to Yura who seemed like she was about to confess her feelings to Alan, Yeon couldn't hold in his anger and humiliation anymore as he slammed his right fist onto the table, then stood up from his seat and glared angrily at Yura while panting heavily with anger.
"Bang!"
"Hah… hah… hah…"
Meanwhile, when Yura looked over to the source of the banging sound and found out that Yeon was actually the one who cut off her confession toward Alan, a frown immediately appeared on Yura's face.
While ignoring the fact that Yeon was glaring at her, or perhaps, Yura didn't even take to mind that Yeon would dare to glare at her, Yura chided at Yeon without holding back at all, which in turn caused Yeon's anger to become even angrier, "Yeon! What are you doing! Where even are your manners! If you aren't able to behave like a normal human being while eating, then get out of the room!"
After Yura finished speaking and saw that Yeon was still remaining silent, Yura finally realized that Yeon was actually glaring at her.
Upon finding out about that, Yura immediately became even more upset as she chided at Yeon once again, "Hmm?! What's with that look on your face! What? Are you upset with what I said or something? Go on, spill it out like a man at least!"
To be honest, Yeon was already sort of regretting about the fact that he slammed his right fist onto the table right after he stood up.
After all, the three people that were at the table were all people that he couldn't afford to offend.
Alan, he possesses blackmail materials on him.
Sharon, belongs to a middle-ranking family, and evidently, since he merely belongs to a lower-ranking family, it was evident that he couldn't afford to offend Sharon.
And lastly, Yura, his fiancé, a woman who comes from a middle-ranking family, the Han Family.
Even if what Yura said were true, that she had no intentions of marrying him, and that her mother intends to recompensate him by helping him get to level 30 as an adventurer, instead of letting him marry Yura and officially becoming Han Family's son-in-law… There was nothing that he could do about that right now, and his best course of action was to bring this matter up to Yura's father, instead of making a scene at the dinner and ends up making the relationship between him and Yura become even worse than it already was.
Furthermore, since it was already a fact that Yura was going to end up being drugged by Alan today, it was even more evident that if he wants to have any chance of still being able to marry Yura, no matter how slim the chances were, his best course of action was to ignore what was happening at the dinner, then quickly find a chance to confess everything to Yura's father right after the dinner had ended.
That was, if he still wanted to have a chance at marrying Yura.
However, after finding out that Yura had no intention of marrying him and about what Yura's mother was intending to do to recompensate him, Yeon felt that his current best course of action was to speak face to face with Yura's mother and try to get Yura's mother to immediately give him all the resources that would enable him to get to level 30.
After all, after today had passed, forget about even being on good terms with Han Family, who even knows what Yura would do to get revenge on him…
However, even though Yeon was aware that he shouldn't make the situation worse than it already was, when he heard Yura taunting him, he ended up letting his emotions get the better of him as he opened his mouth and chided back at Yura.
"Han Yura! Is this even how a woman who is already engaged to another man should behave?! Do you not have any shame at all!"
"Also, have you forgotten who was it that saved your father's life?! If it were not for my father, do you think that you would still be able to enjoy being the daughter of Han Family's family head?! No, you would have been kicked off from being the heiress of Han Family!"
"Han Yura, you should be grateful toward me! And yet, this is how you are treating?! Humiliating me while in front of everyone?! Don't forget, even if you aren't willing to marry me, it is still a fact that I am your fiancé, and I'm sure that your father will not be happy once he finds out what you and your mother are thinking of doing!"
After Yura finished listening to what Yeon said, an inexplicable anger began swelling up in Yura's heart as she pointed her right index finger at Yeon, then shouted at Yeon, "Dong Yeon! Know your place! I won't argue with you since Alan and Sharon are here, but let me tell you this, so long as I'm unwilling to marry you, there's nothing my father can do to make me submit and agree to marry you!"
