Oswalt responded to Himora question sincerely "I'm certain he will follow his heart, that means he wouldn't do anything that would harm you and it's highly likely he'll allow you to decide, but you have to remember the fate of the family could be at risk."
Himora responded indignantly "Are you implying I have to sacrifice my happiness and accept my fate as some spoiled young master's concubine?"
Oswalt replied "You know that's not what I'm saying, I believe his reason for coming here has much more to do with simply wanting to marry you."
"What do you mean by that" she asked
Oswalt sighed and said "Nothing, just try to be lenient with your words when you let him down, that's the least you can attempt to do to not incur their wrath. If you use a soft decline then their true nature will show regardless."

As they conversed they headed to where the patriarch and Empyrean Sect members were waiting for their arrival.
Meanwhile Marceles and Adrian was having casual conversation while waiting for them.
Felix had just decided to ask a question about Himora's personality, but before he could the doors to the meeting room opened.
Oswalt spoke "I've brought the young miss Patriarch."
Merceles responded "Thanks Oswalt, you may take your leave"
Oswalt was astonished he was told to take leave from the meeting, as he usually attended such meetings with guest just in case the needed him to run errands, or just to know as much as possible for times in need.
He still responded immediately "As you wish my lord."
After saying that he closed the door, so the important matter could be attended to.
In the room Merceles spoke softly to his Himora "Take a seat little stainless flower of mine."
When she took a seat next to him, across from Felix and Adrian he continued "This young master has come with a proposal of marriage due to the impression you left on him. Please do tell, what is your impression of him?"
She slightly lower her head with a look of worry on her face while in thought, before she could speak Felix spoke first.
"No need to hold back your feelings young miss, no one will blame you for confessing your love for me." He said with an obnoxious grin.
Adrian face palmed he hadn't expected his young master to let his true nature show, but they were already on the course so he could only watch.
Himora glanced at her father after hearing those snobbish words, and he returned a look as if he could read her mind and nodded, indicating she could express how she truly felt.
