Chapter 2: Chapter 2: The Beginning of the Plan
Chicago, two weeks before the robbery
The System's translucent blue screen flashed before my eyes, informing me of my mission.
> Main Mission: Create the perfect conditions to be trapped in Fox River.
Goals:
Develop a foolproof plan for the bank robbery. ✅
Make sure all the evidence points to a conviction. ✅
Avoid unnecessary suspicion. ✅
Keep Veronica Donovan's attention on Lincoln's defense. ✅
Create provisions and strategies for post-escape events. ✅
Reward: 500 System Points + New Passive Skill.
I took a deep breath, sitting on the couch in my apartment. The Fox River blueprint was spread out on the coffee table, with notes scribbled around it. I already knew by heart the route I needed to take inside the prison, but now was my chance to improve the plan even further.
If the first time Michael Scofield managed to escape with difficulty, now I could do better.
It was time to fine-tune the final details of the plan.
One of the biggest problems faced during the Prison Break escape was the lack of money and false documents right after leaving Fox River. Michael and the others had to improvise, which led to unnecessary mistakes and losses.
This time, I wouldn't make the same mistakes.
I used my time before the robbery to create two strategic points outside the prison:
1. Main Hideout:
Location: An abandoned warehouse in Joliet, a few miles from Fox River.
Content:
$20,000 cash.
A disposable cell phone programmed with useful contacts.
An updated map with safe routes.
Plain clothes to avoid attracting attention.
2. Contingency Plan:
Location: A bus station in Chicago.
Content:
Plus $10,000 cash for emergencies.
A fake passport for me.
An alternative cell phone chip.
If everything went wrong during the escape, these resources would ensure I had alternatives.
✔️ Provisions prepared for post-escape.

Veronica Donovan
In the series, Veronica Donovan was Lincoln's ex-girlfriend. However, she would still play a key role in the events to come.
To ensure that she remained focused on the Lincoln case, I took a few steps:
✔️ I sent her an anonymous letter with information that could help her challenge the evidence against Lincoln.
✔️ I avoided any attempt at emotional involvement, so that she wouldn't waste time trying to save me.
This would ensure that when I was arrested, Veronica was exactly where I needed her to be.
✔️ Veronica would remain focused on Lincoln's case.
The next big change would be how I would enter Fox River.
In the series, Michael made a point of incriminating himself beyond any doubt, ensuring that he would be arrested as quickly as possible. But this brought with it a problem: the FBI could never suspect that there was something more behind my arrest.
If Kellerman or any other Company agent began to suspect that I had a plan inside the prison, things could fall apart.
So my assault needed to look like an emotional mistake, an impulsive act by someone desperate.
First change: include a false history of financial hardship.
I picked up the phone and made a few calls, using information that Michael never explored in the series. Within hours, a financial distress report was attached to my name, showing that I was about to lose my apartment due to mortgage debt.
If any investigator were to look at my record, it would appear that I had a real motive for robbing the bank.
✔️ Improved entry plan: less FBI suspicion.

Choosing the Right Bank
In the series, Michael robbed a random bank in Chicago.
This time, I chose a bank where the security cameras had more favorable angles for my conviction.
I spent a whole day visiting different bank branches, checking out their cameras and the average police response time. Finally, I chose a branch with:
✔️ Cameras at strategic points that would clearly catch me committing the crime.
✔️ A police response time of approximately 3 minutes, ensuring that I would be captured without resistance.
✔️ Enough witnesses to reinforce my guilt in court.
With this change, I increased my chances of conviction without raising unnecessary suspicion.
✔️ Strategically chosen bank.

Final Preparation: Creating the Evidence Against Myself
I took an envelope and filled it with fake robbery sketches, simulating desperate planning. In it, I included:
Maps of different banks.
Notes on opening hours.
Wrong calculations of possible amounts to be stolen.
If the police found this in my home, it would be clear that I had been planning the crime for weeks – which would help strengthen my conviction in court.
✔️ Forged evidence for my own conviction.

The Assault
Two weeks later, the day arrived.
I wore a dark suit and held the unloaded gun I had illegally purchased. The moment I walked into the bank, the employees and customers didn't even suspect anything.
I calmly walked up to the cashier and pulled out my gun, pointing it at the ceiling.
"Everyone on the ground!"
There were shouts, but no sudden movements. This had to be quick and precise.
I threw an empty bag on the counter.
"Fill it up, now!"
The attendant, trembling, began to take the notes. Time was passing.
Three minutes.
I waited long enough to ensure that the cameras captured my face clearly, without any attempt at disguise.
Two minutes.
The sound of sirens began to echo through the street.
One minute.
I slowly turned towards the door and raised my hands.
The police came in with their guns pointed at me.
"Put the gun down!"
Without hesitation, I dropped the pistol and knelt down, allowing them to handcuff me.
Perfect robbery. Guaranteed arrest.
✔️ Mission accomplished: I was arrested without raising suspicions.

The Trial
The courtroom was full.
Veronica Donovan, my attorney and Lincoln's ex-girlfriend, stood beside me, clearly frustrated with my lack of advocacy.
"Michael, you have to help me get you out of this," she insisted, whispering. "I can plead temporary insanity, I can negotiate a deal…"
I shook my head.
"No," I replied calmly. "Just do what you can."
She gave me an incredulous look.
"Do you want to be condemned?"
I didn't answer. I just kept my eyes fixed on the judge.
"Mr. Scofield," her voice echoed through the courtroom. "Given your record as a respectable citizen with no criminal record, this court would consider a more lenient sentence. However, given the nature of the crime and the clarity of the evidence against you, there is no other option but to impose the maximum sentence for this offense. "
She paused before saying the words I had been longing to hear.
"Michael Scofield, you are hereby sentenced to five years in Fox River State Penitentiary."
Now the real mission would begin.
