Chapter 165: Presidential Suite
Shortly after Nadia completed her inspection in the magic formation, the Crimson Guards made an exception and allowed her to keep the two hidden weapons to be placed in her chest.
Naturally, the weapons contained in it were removed, with only the function of covering Nadia's chest remaining.
When Nadia's bust size suddenly enlarged, the Crimson Guards were truly taken by surprise.
How could someone who appeared so innocent actually contain such deadly twin peaks?
It was no wonder that Nadia felt the need to cover her chest. Otherwise, it was hard to say that she could remain clean throughout her journey.
"The two of you are really something else," Mirelle commented upon seeing these two approach them.
For her and Leonard's inspection, it took less than 5 minutes.
But for these two sisters, they actually took more than 20 minutes. And the majority of those times were spent taking out their hidden weapons and banned substances.
Was there really a need to have so much?
Although having many hidden weapons was nice, the premise was that they had to be of great quality and lethal enough to kill their opponent in one strike during their distraction.
Mirelle could easily discern that the hidden weapons concealed by these two sisters were only of average quality.
Had it not been for their average quality, then the Crimson Guards might have truly detained her, forcing Leonard to expose his status.
After all, only by assuming his Crown Prince's identity would he be able to pardon their abnormality.
"Do forgive us, Master." Both Elise and Nadia promptly apologized to Leonard for not coming clean with their inventory.
"No worries." Leonard shook his head in response. "Those are your protection tools, so it's only right for them to be kept a secret unless necessary."
He wasn't an unreasonable person. Given their predicament and grim outlook, even he would have kept multiple hidden weapons and banned substances to safeguard himself.
"Thank you, Master." Elise heaved a sigh of relief.
"Alright, stop with the thanks." Leonard raised his hand and stopped Nadia from copying her sister.
"It's time to meet with the Crown Prince."
As the group entered the main lobby, they were promptly greeted by the scene of people taking refuge.
Some were showing a desolate expression, and some had tears dried up in their pupils. But the majority seemed to be relieved to be able to take shelter.
'Looks like my imitator didn't let me down.' Leonard thought to himself.
There wasn't any discrimination in taking refugees, and the hotel employees seemed to have been warned to not look down on others.
A few seconds later, they reunited with Caroline's group.
"Where's the other survivor?" Mirelle asked, her eyes wandering around to search for them.
"The survivors were all being treated and fed in another section," Caroline answered. The survivors' condition was even more alarming than what the naked eye could see.
When the survivors had first gone through the magic formation, the Crimson Guards were about to rush out to get revenge.
After all, Caroline's group represented the Crown Prince. In other words, they were the Crown Prince's people.
For the Crown Prince's people to suffer such an experience, the Crimson Guards felt humiliated and insulted. Their suffering was equivalent to a slap in the face toward their Crown Prince.
"Your Crimson Guards really are extraordinary." Mirelle smiled bitterly and commented.
The difference between the Crimson Guards and the City Guards was extremely laughable. The former was loyal and righteous, whereas the latter was treacherous and inhumane.
"That is only natural." Leonard wasn't shy about accepting the compliment, even if they weren't trained by him personally.
They were guards trained by Spencer, who made sure to emphasize that their actions were equivalent to representing him and his status.
Hence, they were disallowed from acting in any way that would harm his status as a whole.
Those who failed to comply with this iron-clad law were either removed from their post or executed, depending on the severity.
Annually, there were around 100-300 Crimson Guards who were punished for violating the iron-clad law.
20% of the overall numbers were executed for harming an innocent citizen in different ways. The most common was sexual assault.
Although Spencer had tried his best to prevent such incidents, there were bound to be some rat bastards that slipped through some small cracks.
In response to these situations, Spencer made sure the victim's family could personally retaliate against the perpetrator to the fullest.
If the victim's family didn't wish to personally do it, then Spencer would bring the perpetrator to the Crimson Guards' training ground to demonstrate what it means to violate the iron-clad laws.
Due to this series of punishments, the majority of the Crimson Guards were righteous, but also ruthless enough to their enemies.
Sometime later, Leonard glanced at Elise and Nadia. "The two of you can also join the Crimson Guards if you want."
"I refuse." Elise swiftly rejected the suggestion. "I'd prefer being the personal bodyguard and staying by your side."
Nadia also nodded her head in agreement.
To enter the Crimson Guards meant entering another type of training ground. Even though the circumstances would be different than what they had experienced, they still held some restraint and disdain toward it.
Their adamant and swift rejection didn't surprise Leonard one bit.
"Since you don't want to, then so be it." He shrugged and made his way toward the Presidential Suite.
Along the way, they encountered more Crimson Guards who wanted to halt their path, only to move aside after confirming the Crown Prince's token.
Nevertheless, they still assigned a few guards to stick by them to avoid any funny business.
Soon, they arrived at the Presidential Suite, which was more heavily guarded than any other suite.
Their arrival prompted the guards standing outside the door to knock on the Presidential Suite again.
"Didn't I say not to disturb the Crown Prince's rest again?" Instantly, a voice echoed thunderously as the door opened abruptly.
Curtis appeared with a livid expression. "I don't care who else wants to meet with the Crown Prince, but they could all scram aside!"
