Endless World: The Rise of Leonard Lawson

Chapter 159: Permanent Break

"Sister!" Nadia cried in relief as she rushed to Elise and hugged her tightly.

Elise's expression revealed traces of warmth and sweetness as she returned the gesture. She wrapped her arms around the fragile Nadia and rubbed her back.

"There there… eldest sister has returned like I promised," Elise said.

"Sister… Did that bastard do that thing with you?" Nadia suppressed her agony, lifted her head, and asked in concern. The bastard naturally referred to Marquis Darius, and the thing she mentioned was sexual intercourse.

Ever since Elise was chosen and transferred to become a personal guard of Darius, the deceased Death Guards had constantly harassed her daily.

They didn't dare to do anything to her physically because of the magic contract. But they made sure to verbally abuse her and talked about how her eldest sister was going to be used repeatedly by them once Marquis Darius was finished.

There were so many times when Nadia wanted to breach the contract and attack them.

However, she knew doing so would fall into their trap.

If she were to ever make the first move, then it would essentially give them the excuse to do whatever they want with her.

Elise had also repeatedly warned her of the consequences and told her to suppress her emotions.

It was still manageable initially, but with the passage of time and zero news of Elise, her patience was running thin.

Truth be told, if Elise hadn't made it back today like she had promised previously, then she was going to make her move today and self-detonate.

"I'm freed from the Marquis." Elise patted her head and explained the situation.

While Elise was busy explaining the details to her little sister, Mirelle had promptly returned to Leonard's side.

"All the death guards beside Elise's little sister have been killed." She reported.

Leonard snickered in response.

"I've already lowered my expectations, but to think not a single death guard was spared under Elise's finger." He shook his head.

To think that he believed there might be 1-3 Death Guards remaining alive…

How laughable was that?

In the end, these Death Guards also deserved the cruel fate for being such scums themselves.

While the event in the secret compartment was resolved, footsteps could be heard from outside.

Alerted, Elise and Mirelle assumed their battle stance.

"Took them long enough to figure something was amiss." On the contrary, Leonard mused and waited for Zach to arrive alongside a group of people.

In the blink of an eye, Zach appeared from above with an infuriated expression.

"You three are really courageous!" Zach's eyes narrowed in a cold light. He first glanced at Elise before shifting his sight to Leonard.

His eyes also spotted the bloody ground that was filled with the Death Guards.

"A mere Crown Prince's dog actually dared to infiltrate our base and kill so many Death Guards. Do you really think we're easy to bully?"

He was filled with regret.

How could he possibly allow them to enter the secret compartment?

No, how was it possible for them to kill so many Death Guards at such a fast rate?

From Zach's perspective, both Elise and Nadia were still bound by the magic contract. Therefore, they couldn't be the culprit.

In other words, the suspects could only be Leonard and Mirelle, who was standing behind him.

While Zach was at a loss as to how they achieved it, Leonard picked his ears.

"Mirelle, do you always let a dead person spout so much nonsense?" He questioned coldly.

"I understand, boss." Mirelle nodded and received the signal.

"Hah, dead person?" Zach snorted and laughed humorously.

"The only dead people here are you—"

Before Zach could finish his words, he suddenly rotated at a 70-degree angle, his eyes seeing a body with no head.

'What the?' It took him just a second to realize the body with no head was actually his. Alas, the realization also signaled the end of his life.

Mirelle's swiftness in her kill was so fast that the body had failed to even process what had just happened.

The other people who saw their superior being slain in the blink of an eye were terrified. Without any words, they hurriedly turned around and tried to flee the scene.

Unfortunately, their speed was far too slow, and their reaction time was pathetic.

"A bunch of trash who relied on the Magic Contract as protection." Mirelle sneered and blinked away from her position.

In the next instance, all those who had entered the secret compartment ended up in the same fate as the deceased Death Guards.

Both Elise and Nadia swallowed a mouthful of saliva nervously.

Although they had witnessed death like a common occurrence, they had never seen a kill this quickly and precisely.

'As expected of a war veteran.' Only Leonard remained indifferent to the scene. Despite Mirelle's multiple impulsive and somewhat naive mindsets, the fact remained that she was someone who had been in wars.

How could someone who participated in multiple wars be lacking in combat experience?

Had it not been for her combat experience, Leonard truly would have kicked her out already.

A sharp blade with a naive mindset…what a good combination to make use of.

Mirelle promptly returned to Leonard's side once the deed was done.

"What should we do with the rest of the customers above?" She then asked.

Because the secret compartment was opened wide, she reckoned the screaming sound from earlier must have reached the people upstairs.

"Those people wanted to drink and discuss the berserk slaves outbreak so openly." Leonard flashed a gentle smile.

"Since they wanted to use this as an excuse to take a break, then I'll be magnanimous. I'll grant them a permanent break, forever free from any worries." He continued and made a slicing neck gesture.

It wasn't that he wanted to be cruel, but the commotion was already made.

He needed to cut the root to ensure nobody else could relay the actual incident to anyone else.

As for the accusation that would be followed, what could they do when they have no evidence?

And even if they do, could they possibly be courageous enough to detain him once he returned to the Crown Prince's position?
