Being dared in such a manner, Leonard found it amusing.
"Since you offered yourself, then don't mind if I do!" He snorted and grabbed her by the arm.
He lifted her up and began dragging her away, much to the latter's shock.
Not to mention her, even the others were baffled by the situation.
"This is…" Mirelle's eyes widened. She was about to stop Leonard from the reckless action, but was halted by Caroline.
"The Crown Prince isn't a person to be blinded by lust," Caroline whispered. She then subtly pointed at the women behind them.
The meaning was obvious.
If Leonard was truly feeling the heat and wanted to release his stress, then there were many qualified and trained women waiting for him.
There was no need for him to go out of his way to snatch Darius's bodyguard.
As if that wasn't enough for an exaggeration, the woman even acknowledged they were soon a dying corpse with poison dwelling in their body.
Why would Leonard take such a risk and bang a poisoned woman?
Sure, the guard was quite beautiful, but so were the rest of the Rosalia Troupe.
"If the Crown Prince isn't trying to have intercourse with the guard, then why did he drag her away?" Mirelle inquired.
"Most likely because he plans on extracting information—one that isn't going to be a sight the others would want to see." Caroline made an educated guess.
Truth be told, even she wasn't that clear about Leonard's current actions and behavior.
The death of Irene might have affected him to a state where they could not comprehend.
While they were left confused, Leonard had already dragged the guard to a discreet area.
An area where feces were kept as fertilizer for the soil, which made the area smell unsightly and foul.
The guard also frowned a bit at being dragged over to such a place.
"Now, let's not make things too ugly. I'll start things easily. What is your name?" Leonard asked.
"It's Elise." The woman was rather honest and answered without hesitation.
"Elise, huh. Not a bad name." Leonard nodded and continued with some relatively easy questions.
The easy questions were readily answered by Elise in a heartbeat.
Soon, the questions became intermediate.
"How did you end up being a personal guard of Darius?" Leonard questioned before correcting, "I mean a death guard, granted that you had consumed poison and require antidotes from time to time."
"Didn't you know about the Sunfire Road Incident?"
Realization quickly dawned upon him.
"I see… You were captured." Leonard rubbed his chin. Since she was captured, it was obvious that she didn't mind spilling the beans.
But then here comes the doubt.
"Why were you hostile toward me when I decided to snatch you away?"
"Because my remaining family will be killed now!" Elise hissed.
"Your remaining family?"
"My little sister. She is also being trained as a death guard."
"Hmm, is that why you got so mad?"
"Yes." Elise squinted her eyes. If it weren't for the restriction in place, she would have wanted to skin Leonard alive before dying.
"Without my presence, she would no longer be able to earn an antidote. Her skills aren't mediocre, but it's not enough in the training ground for the Death Guards."
Without being able to earn enough antidote for her little sister, much less her protection, she was bound to become a target of prey for the other death guards.
Every death guard was selfish and for themselves. Darius wouldn't even care if they decided to kill each other, violate others, or even trample them.
The only thing Darius cared about was the result. The result of who reached the top ranking of the week would be granted certain privileges.
In a sense, the structure was similar to that of the Slave Coop, albeit the identity and power were vastly different. The Death Guards were all poisoned and brainwashed to do their best to survive by stepping over others.
There were even times when a female death guard lost their place and got violated repeatedly, dying of exhaustion from the intensity.
And what happened next was zero punishment!
On the contrary, the one who committed those acts was rewarded generously for being so malicious.
What Darius sought wasn't some kind-hearted guards, but guards who could become his blades at any moment.
"The next battle is coming up, and thanks to you, my little sister will now become another one of the victims. So tell me, why would I not hate you?" Elise gnashed her teeth tightly. It was to the point where blood started to seep out from how hard she had bitten.
Leonard finally got a gist of the situation. The similarity in the Death Guard format and Slave Coop was designed by the same person.
This meant that his deduction was correct that Darius was indeed involved in the Wrathbane Extract.
"Shall we make a deal, Elise?" Leonard suddenly suggested. "I'll extract the poison from your body and help rescue your little sister. In return, you will give me all relevant information about Darius and all the darkest secrets they are hiding."
"What?" Elise was alarmed by his sudden offer. She found it ridiculous that he had the nerve to claim he could extract the poison from her body.
Did he think she had never once attempted to extract them?
Or did he think Darius was such a careless man to allow such a major loophole to occur?
Moreover, rescuing her little sister from Darius's clutches?
She had never heard such a hilarious joke!
The Death Guard's training ground was extremely secure. Not even she could slip through the cracks and enter without being seen.
