Chapter 26: Chapter 26
After the tense meeting, Naruto met with his newly assigned followers outside the meeting room. There were three individuals now under his charge, and while he was already familiar with two of them, the third was a stranger to him.
The first person he recognized was Kurotsuchi, who had come along with the group from the Hidden Stone Village. Her seriousness and tactical mindset had been a clear asset during the discussions, and it showed in the way she carried herself. Then there was Laura, the Raikage's daughter, known by her codename "Storm." Her energy was infectious, her bright green gi a perfect reflection of her vibrant and excitable personality.
The third individual, however, was Mifune's grandson, Zoro. Naruto had never met him before, but it was immediately clear that this young man had a remarkable presence. Zoro was twenty years old, of average height, but his well-defined muscles spoke volumes about his strength. He had lightly tanned skin, a solid build that seemed both agile and powerful, and he carried three swords—each bundled neatly with a green haramaki over his right hip. The swords were arranged so that he could easily draw them with his left hand, and even from one look, Naruto could tell that Zoro's base strength was formidable. His chakra reserves, too, were notably higher than most samurai.
"Stronger than Sakura without her seal," Naruto thought to himself, assessing Zoro. Comparing him to Kurotsuchi, he considered her power to be nearly on par with Kakashi's former strength. Yet Zoro was a step beyond, potentially making him an invaluable ally.
Laura, or "Storm," caught Naruto's attention next. She had light dark skin and long white hair, the right side flowing freely while the left side was styled in cornrow braids that met the rest of her hair at the back. Her eyes were light brown, and her figure was striking. She wore a green martial arts gi with yellow linings, paired with matching pants and a black belt, a vibrant and confident outfit befitting her outgoing nature. Her energy and enthusiasm were palpable, and it was clear she thrived on the thrill of battle, much like her father, the Raikage.
Naruto could tell immediately that she had been trained from birth to fight. Her power level was similar to Kakashi's, and her position in Kumo placed her just below her father, the Raikage, and Leroy (Killer Bee). Unlike the others, she was warm, energetic, and friendly, and her demeanor immediately contrasted with the stoic seriousness of Zoro and Kurotsuchi.
Despite his assessment of the three, Naruto felt uncertain about how to approach this new responsibility. He had never had followers before, and the thought of leading people felt foreign to him. He wore his confusion on his face, unable to mask his uncertainty.
"Seriously, you never considered what to do when you had followers? Didn't you plan to become Hokage?" Kurotsuchi snapped, her irritation clear. She had expected Naruto to be more prepared, and his apparent lack of foresight was only making her more frustrated.
Naruto, however, remained calm. "It's my first time. How would I know? I hadn't planned on this," he said, his voice friendly but acknowledging his mistake. "Since you seem to know about this, how about you guide me?"
Kurotsuchi was taken aback by his response. She had expected him to be more serious about the matter, but Naruto's nonchalant yet sincere attitude defused her irritation, even though she still seemed miffed.
"You are definitely my type of person, Naruto," Storm said with a grin, her tone teasing. "You don't have to ask her. I can help you with that while we chill at the Samurai Arena."
Naruto felt a bit embarrassed by her touch, instinctively dodging her playful attempts to get closer. Storm was free-spirited, and Naruto could see how quickly her mood could shift, depending on how he acted. He chose to sidestep the situation, walking over to Zoro, only to find him fast asleep—his eyes open but his body relaxed.
Kurotsuchi, not wanting to be left out of the banter, crossed her arms and glared at Storm. "What do you mean by that? Do you think you know more than me?" she demanded, her voice laced with tension.
Storm, never one to back down, chuckled and replied, "I didn't think. I know better than you." She circled around Zoro before sidling up to Naruto's side with a playful smirk, clearly enjoying the tension she was creating.
The playful back-and-forth quickly escalated toward a potential clash, and Naruto, sensing the growing animosity between Kurotsuchi and Storm, decided to intervene. His chakra flared, subtly but decisively, and it was enough to paralyze them both in place, freezing them mid-action. Zoro, startled by the sudden halt, awoke with a confused expression.
"What happened?" Zoro asked, his voice calm and his posture relaxed despite the apparent tension around him.
"Nothing important," Naruto replied with a casual shrug, "We were just about to take a tour around the city and get to know each other."
Zoro nodded without much concern. "Why not, I'll show you around," he said, already ready to take the lead. He began to step forward but quickly added, "I'll show you my favorite spot." However, Naruto soon learned that Zoro's sense of direction left much to be desired. Zoro had taken three hours to reach the meeting place, despite it being only a few minutes' walk from his house. He had wandered through several countries before reaching the summit, so navigating through the city wasn't exactly his strong suit.
Despite the unusual start, Naruto appreciated Zoro's enthusiasm and willingness to help, even if his sense of direction was completely off. The group spent hours together, touring the city, laughing, and learning more about each other.
Yet, even as they enjoyed their time, Naruto's thoughts kept drifting to the other pressing matters—Orochi, Akuma, and the little girl Ai, whom he had brought to Konoha. Though he had hoped to take things slowly, circumstances were pushing him to accelerate his plans.
All the strongest fighters with fusion abilities would need to be prepared to defend against the looming threats, and it seemed that Naruto was the one who would lead them. It was a heavy responsibility, but he knew it was the best choice to focus on the individuals who could become his strongest allies. For now, his followers would be key to ensuring the survival of their world, and he had no choice but to guide them toward greater strength.
Naruto finally ventured to the legendary Sage of Six Paths' sanctuary, hidden deep within the heart of the planet. This place was concealed so well that it would have been impossible to find without the proper guidance. The sanctuary was a majestic structure built from marble, and its walls were adorned with grand murals that told the rich history of the world. As Naruto gazed at the murals, he saw vivid depictions of the time before chakra was a part of daily life—a world that was not at peace, even without the introduction of chakra.
The murals also depicted the arrival of Kaguya, and how she brought chakra into the world, altering the course of history. Yet, to Naruto's surprise, the history painted on the walls showed that even without chakra, humanity had always been prone to conflict. Wars raged across the lands, and chakra was just another weapon in the endless struggle for power. This revelation gave Naruto pause—chakra wasn't the cause of conflict; it was merely a tool, like any other weapon forged by humanity.
Moving deeper into the sanctuary, Naruto was struck by the murals of the Bijuu. These great beings were shown in their natural environments, standing tall as the guardians of the world. They appeared much grander in the paintings than the real versions he had encountered, which left Naruto feeling a sense of awe and wonder. The depiction was so powerful that it almost seemed as though the Bijuu had once been more than what he had seen, something far more noble and majestic than their current state.
Naruto continued his journey through the sanctuary, determined to reach the end. At the farthest room, he found a stunning mural of the Sage of Six Paths in his prime. Beneath the mural was a large treasure chest, filled with precious items and old books, all written for guidance. It was clear that this was the heart of the Sage's legacy.
Among the items in the chest was a detailed record of the Sage's countermeasures against the Otsutsuki. The plan was simple yet effective, centered around the use of extraordinary chakra metals. These metals—golden, blue, and red—were described as the highest-quality chakra metals in existence. The golden metal, forged with the intense energy of the Sage of Six Paths at his full strength, was the most prized. It was capable of directly enhancing the user's abilities, providing both immense power and the ability to reflect all attacks aimed at the wearer. Just having equipment made from this golden metal would be enough to make one nearly invincible, easily surpassing the power of the Kage themselves.
The blue and red metals were secondary to the golden metal, but they still offered substantial boosts. The blue metal primarily enhanced speed, while the red metal was focused on augmenting offensive power. The chest contained enough of these metals to forge nine complete sets of equipment, tailored to the nine Jinchuuriki of the Bijuu, further emphasizing the Sage's foresight in preparing for future battles.
Aside from the metals, there was something else—skill orbs, each corresponding to one of the Bijuu. These orbs contained the techniques the Sage had created specifically for the Bijuu, based on their unique chakra and abilities. These techniques would enhance their power, providing them with more control over their abilities and making them far more dangerous foes. Naruto knew that if the Bijuu were to master these techniques, they would become unstoppable.
The next treasure Naruto uncovered was a book of fuinjutsu, written by the Sage himself. The book contained the Six Paths Fuinjutsu, a series of seals that could change the very fabric of reality. It included seals for boosting or sealing chakra, for creating barriers, for summoning, and more. The complexity of these techniques would require significant effort to master, and Naruto understood that he would need to dedicate considerable time and focus to unlocking their secrets. There was also the possibility that he would need to share the knowledge with others, allowing them to accelerate their progress.
Finally, at the bottom of the chest, Naruto discovered the Sage's eyes—three Rinne-Sharingan eyes, preserved in a transparent container. The eyes emanated an immense, almost overwhelming power, and Naruto could feel their presence as he gazed upon them. Despite the allure of their power, he didn't even consider implanting them. He already had Sasuke's eyes, and they were more than sufficient for his current needs. The Rinne-Sharingan required a wielder with exceptional chakra reserves, and Naruto knew that he would need to find someone worthy to inherit these eyes.
With a deep sigh, Naruto carefully placed the eyes in his storage scroll, knowing that their time would come when the right person would appear.
Naruto's journey through the Sage of Six Paths' sanctuary led him to the greatest treasure of all: the Book of Six Paths Senjutsu. Unlike the Sword of Nunoboko, which was capable of rewriting the very fabric of the planet, this book held techniques that went far beyond the use of natural energy to enhance power. It contained the secrets to warping reality itself.
The techniques listed within the book were beyond anything Naruto had ever imagined. The first technique, Full Counter, allowed the user to completely counter and reflect an attack back at the enemy with even greater force—or vanish the damage entirely. Then, there was Vain, which increased the energy burden on an opponent's abilities, effectively limiting their capacity to use them.
Crisis was another technique that increased the user's power in direct proportion to the damage they sustained, making them more formidable the longer the fight went on. Combo stacked additional force for each consecutive attack, making the user a relentless force to be reckoned with. Then came Destiny Bond, an eerie technique that meant if the user died, their target would also meet the same fate, bound by a twisted, inevitable connection.
Among the more terrifying abilities was Megas Drepanon (Great Scythe), which could bypass any defense, cutting through not just physical bodies but energy and even spirits. Aegis Shield was an impenetrable barrier that created layers of dimensional planes, stopping any attack from reaching its target.
The technique Another Encounter With Reality was particularly dangerous—it transported the opponent to the World of Dreams, a place where the user had total control over their enemies' minds and bodies. In this dream realm, the user could imprison their foes in endless nightmares, where reality itself could be twisted to their will. The damage felt by the opponent in this realm was very real, even though it was all a product of the mind.
All the World's Evil was perhaps the darkest of all the techniques. It plunged the user into a curse so deep it painted the very fabric of space with darkness, bombarding the victim's mind with unspeakable horrors—the darkest parts of humanity's crimes and the ugliness of the world. Those trapped in this curse would be consumed by pain, hatred, and self-destruction, unable to escape the mental torment.
Alpha Force was a technique that could replay a battle in an instant, leaving the opponent unable to comprehend the number of attacks that had been unleashed upon them. In the blink of an eye, the opponent would be overwhelmed by the sheer number of blows.
Then there was Ultimate Force, or Ulforce, a legendary holy power born from the most positive feelings—joy, pleasure, and a desire to protect loved ones. Unlike typical overwriting powers that eroded the user's life force, Ulforce was a sacred power that could heal, strengthen, and evolve the user. This power could instantly heal the user, allowing them to fight at full capacity no matter the damage sustained.
Nega-Genesis was a technique that could reject the evolution of anything beyond the history of humanity itself, halting any further development outside of that scope. Domina Coronam (Ten Crowns) was a skill that made the user virtually invincible, capable of turning back time and erasing any injury or outcome as if it never occurred.
Judgment stripped away the consciousness of anyone who harbored ill will toward the user, while Execution of Light allowed the user to alter the hierarchy of things, making it so that beings of a higher hierarchy could not be harmed by those of a lower one.
These abilities were beyond anything Naruto had ever encountered, and they revealed the terrifying power of beings like the Sage of Six Paths. He had completely forgotten that the Sage himself possessed such reality-warping abilities, and Naruto now understood the true level of power that the Otsutsuki and others in the Sage's realm operated with.
With a sense of dread and awe, Naruto realized how fortunate he was that the Sage had left him these teachings. Without them, any Otsutsuki or similarly powerful being could easily take him out with their ability to manipulate reality. None of the ninja world would have even considered fighting with such powers in mind.
Naruto wiped the sweat from his brow as he carefully gathered the treasures—the techniques, the knowledge, and the abilities—storing them away in a special storage seal placed on his heart. The sheer power of these techniques was overwhelming, but Naruto knew he was not yet ready to use them. His understanding of chakra and Senjutsu was still limited, and mastering even a few of these techniques would require years of study and practice.
But the potential was there. Naruto knew that once he fully understood these techniques, he would be able to protect not only his world but also the people he cared about from the reality-bending powers of those who sought to destroy it. The road ahead would be long and difficult, but Naruto had always thrived in the face of adversity. And now, he had the power to shape his destiny and the world around him.
