Jay's thoughts spun as the System's words sank in. The way it kept mentioning 'OMNOS' suggested a reality far grander than the universe he knew. The staggering conclusion dawned on him: the universe was but a fragment of a much vaster reality.

That realization shook him to the core. And discovering that║LOOT║wasn't just an Innate Talent but an ORIGIN CRUX, one of only 33 in existence, only deepened his shock.

Those Cruxes were so powerful and rare that those chosen by them grew to become transcendent beings, standing unrivalled at the absolute pinnacle of all existence.

The System's reverent tone when mentioning ORPHEUS hinted at the unparalleled standing his predecessor held among the mighty PRIMORDIALS, one of the most formidable beings ever to exist.

Jay recollected that scene from his past with vivid clarity. The silver silhouette of a man, standing thousands of kilometers tall, on a hypergiant star so immense that its diameter spanned 2.8 billion kilometers, dominated his memory.

Enveloped in Origin Energy, the man sported waist-long silver hair and wielded a mesmerizing dual-bladed silver glaive. Each swing of his glaive generated shockwaves powerful enough to disfigure the celestial bodies in an entire Planetary Cluster.

The sheer destruction from his training alone had left a lasting impression on Jay. He could never forget his predecessor's otherworldly presence, which made him realize how minuscule he was.

That single memory was why Jay had set a goal for himself, to reach that level one day, no matter how far off it seemed.

But his thoughts were cut short when the System's voice echoed again.

"ORPHEUS Successor, I cannot interfere in Universal affairs unless certain conditions are triggered. The Origin Energy you released earlier posed a risk to me if I didn't act, and that allowed me to enter Reality. I don't have much time before I am pulled back into the Cybernetic Construct. If you have any questions, ask them now."

The System's voice snapped Jay back to the present. He had so many questions… but time was short. He started by asking something that had been on his mind for a while.

"How many more Universe Points do I need to obtain the Origin Glaive?"

The System answered at once.

"You are not far off. You've already gathered a little more than one-third of the required amount. Even most Sovereigns don't have the kind of points you've earned. And if you're worried someone else might buy it before you, don't be. If you weren't ORPHEUS's successor, no amount of points would be enough to claim his Primordial Weapon."

Jay did a quick calculation in his head.

He had around 14,800 Universe Points right now. If that was a little over a third… then he'd need somewhere around 40,000 total.

That meant about 25,000 more to go.

He had feared the requirement might be something absurd, like 100,000 points or more. But knowing the target was actually within reach sparked a flicker of hope inside him.

Seizing the opportunity, Jay swiftly moved on to a more pressing concern, one that burdened every Alpha Chosen and threatened all life on planets undergoing assimilation.

"Is there a way to stop the Assimilation?"

The System's response carried a hint of disapproval, "Assimilation is what equips your planet to combat the GENESIS INCURSION. Without it, the native lifeforms would be utterly defenceless, leading to a devastating and one-sided annihilation."

Jay's heart sank at the words. The reality of the System's explanation was harsh, but he knew he had to understand it fully. "So, there's no way to stop the monster invasion?"

The System continued, "The Trial Program exists to groom those with the highest potential from each planet. It is designed to your world every other world a fighting chance."

Jay nodded slowly, absorbing the information. He knew that his role as an Alpha Chosen wasn't just about personal power or glory. It was about survival, his own, and that of his entire planet.

The enormity of the responsibility might have settled heavily on anyone's shoulders, but not on Jay. Unlike his brother, he wasn't driven to save everyone.

His focus had always been on his family and the people he cared about. If others survived along the way, that was fine, but that was the extent of it. Nothing more, nothing less.

Seeing Jay remain silent, the System continued, offering an insight tied to survival.

"Casualties are inevitable. But unlike others, you have the means to reduce them. You can purchase the PLANETARY VIRTUAL SANCTUARY from the Achievement Point Store for just 100 Universe Points and assign a Soul AI to manage it. You have the capability to do both. If you wish, you could significantly improve your species' chances of survival."

Jay's eyes narrowed in thought. "Only 100 Universe Points? That wasn't much at all, not with what was at stake."

"Kay is going to love this," he thought, imagining how relieved his soft-hearted brother would be to hear about it.

But he had no time to linger on that. There was one more thing he needed to know. A truth that had been shrouded in mystery across the universe.

"Why did the Prehistoric Era end? And how did my predecessor die? Who killed him?"

The words had barely left his mouth when the colossal form of the Doppelganger erupted into a booming laugh that echoed through the confined space.

"It's been a long time since I've heard a good joke. Kill the INDOMITABLE PRIMORDIAL? You truly don't understand the eternal transcendence he reached. Let me make this clear, no one killed him, or rather, no one could."

The voice carried a certainty that left no room for doubt.

"Even the strongest among all of Existence, the 2nd ORIGIN CRUX holder, the LIMITLESS PRIMORDIAL, couldn't defeat ORPHEUS, let alone anyone else. The reason life still exists across OMNOS, across a million universes, is because of his valiant sacrifice."
