During the Dark Ages

"It seems we aren't the only ones who are heading off to battle." Shuma said as she flew inthe air with her fellow Corpse Lords and ghouls. Below them, were over a dozen crabs and lobsters heading towards the forest. The crabs were of different colours, mostly variations of red and blue, and a few purple and pink ones mixed in. At the head of the pack, were three tier 4 crabs and a purple lobster with beady black eyes, these four were the reason the undeads were unsuccessful in taking over M town completely. The four of them were powerful in their own right, especially the lobster with it's barrier ability.

"Should we try eliminating a few of them now?" The skinny Corpse Lord asked

"Vergil has a point, maybe we could take out a few of them now." The obese corpse Lord says while looking at the crabs hungrily.

"No, it's best to wait until we arrive in the forest and meet the ones who issued the challenge. We have no idea of their numbers and how many tier 4s they possess, not to mention their species and abilities. There are too many variables, so we can't act rash." Shuma replied cautiously

"Why so cautious Shuma, there aren't many things that can kill us? We will defeat whoever this mysterious party is and have a fea- I mean, gain many subordinates." The obese corpse Lord said and Shuma looked at him, but chose to remain silent.

The crabs and lobsters were the first to arrive at the battlefield chosen by Colin and the others and they immediately spotted Colin in the clearing. They immediately launched jets of water towards him and Colin immediately created a barrier using hellfire. The jets of water were easily able to overcome his defence and he was sent flying backwards, slamming into a tree as the crustaceans rushed towards him.

As the small army of crustaceans rushed forwards, they suddenly found themselves falling as a large pitfall, more than big enough fit all of them, opened up beneath their many feet. At the bottom of the pitfall, were hundreds of large spikes made of gold, crystals, diamonds and the other affinities possessed by the Leprechauns. They spent a lot of time making them, making the spikes as condensed as possible so that they can pierce the hard shells of the crustaceans, and they did an amazing job. The spikes pierced through the shell of the tier 3 crustaceans like hot knife through butter, digging into their bodies and piercing their organs. The tier 4s weren't much better, the spikes dug into their shells as well, but with thicker armour, sturdier organs and stronger regeneration, they faired slightly better than their lesser brethren.

One of the tier 4 crabs released large amounts of water from it's mouth and soon, the others followed it's lead. Slowly, the water filled up the large pit all, but with it being more than twenty meters deep and ten meters wide, it was going to take a while to fill, time the crustaceans didn't have. Suddenly, many different attacks rained from all angles into the water, causing the crustaceans to screech in pain as they pelted their shells. The plan of action to take care of the crabs was simple, have them fall into a trap created by the Leprechauns and hidden using Earth and Illusion affinities, then pelt the poor beasts with attacks. A simple plan that worked perfectly against simple minded beasts.

The crustaceans tried retaliating as well, but they had no idea where to attack as their attackers continuously changed locations. Suddenly, crustaceans started to mysteriously be pulled under water and the tier 4s immediately became troubled. They knew they weren't doing this on their own and one of them decisively went under water to check, where they found their brethren being wrapped in shadow tentacles and vines. During the construction of the pit, small shrubs were thrown inside the pit and with Melissa's affinity, she was able to manipulate them to take root for this very occasion. The angry crab instantly used it's water affinity to destroy the offending vines and shadow tentacles before they could strangle it's brethren to death. With a loud roar, the tier 4s combined their abilities and the water inside the pit burst out of the pit, bringing the beasts with it and flooded the surrounding forest.

The crustaceans were furious at the embarrassing situation, and they looked around the area for their attackers, and quickly started firing jets of water around the forest.

*Growl*

The werewolves jumped out of their hiding place, launching themselves towards the crustaceans. Normally, tier 3 demons wouldn't be able to battle a tier 4, but with the tier 4 crustaceans weakened by their earlier stunt, the werewolves had a chance of killing them if they acted quickly. The lobster was enraged by the fact that lower tiered creatures would dare to attack it and instantly started to prepare an attack to destroy them all, but just then.

*Swoosh*

*Screech*

A golden lance rotating at incredible speed pierced through the abdomen of the lobster, forcefully stopping its attack. Seizing the opportunity, the werewolves ripped out its eyes and started ripping away at the wound created by the lance. The lobster screamed in pain, but their was nothing it could do, as more golden spikes pierced into its body, pinning its claws to the ground, allowing the werewolves to rip away at it with it's sharp claws.

"What a savage bunch." Bartus mumbled as he watched the werewolves ripped apart the lobsters. The situation was pretty much the same for the other crustaceans as the werewolves ripped them apart, with the other tier four leprechauns hiding in the trees.

"Told you, this is the reason I told you to wait, they have set up traps all over the place." Shuma said, as she and the other undead watched from above.

"They haven't set up any traps for us, we have wings so that stupid pitfall won't work on us. I'm going first." The obese corpse lord said before flying towards the battlefield and Vergil tried to stop him, but Shuma held him back and shook her head. The obese corpse lord flew towards them hungrily and filled with bloodlust, when suddenly, it found itself stuck in the air, unable to move. It could feel something long and thick digging into its body, causing black blood to drip from the wounds.

"What the..." But it was unable to complete its sentence, as a silver, snake headed staff pierced through its head, blowing it to bits.
