Chapter 380: Ch-380: Unbreakable Box
"Ancestor, do you know what the symbols mean?" Lei Ping asked, scratching his head as he stared at the strange symbols, while Feng Chang remained silent.
"What about you, Disciple Wang Ming? Can you understand the symbols?" Jiang Hong asked curiously.
"Yes, it's some kind of technique called Shadow Veil, but it's incomplete. I need the other half," Wang Ming replied. As soon as he finished speaking, Feng Chang's head snapped in his direction.
"You can read this?" she asked in shock, to which Wang Ming nodded.
"Elder Feng, do you know where I can find the other half?" Wang Ming asked, his curiosity piqued, causing Feng Chang to frown.
"I do have the other half," Feng Chang said, producing another parchment. As soon as she brought it out, both parchments flew from their hands and floated in the air. Under everyone's gaze, they merged together and formed a single scroll.
"What's happening now?" Shi Yu asked as the scroll began to glow pitch black. A dark ray of light erupted, and the scroll flew across the room, fitting itself perfectly into a small circular hole in the wall. Moments later, a small wooden box emerged from beneath the floor.
"Hah, another hidden compartment," Wang Ming sighed as he silently watched the two parchments merge into a single scroll, which then fell into Feng Chang's hands. He then turned his head toward the newly revealed box that had just appeared.
"Hmm?" Feng Chang frowned as she noticed the wooden box emerging from beneath the ground.
"A wooden box? How come I never knew there was something hidden in this room?" Jiang Hong said with a frown. This was his residence, where he had lived for years, and he had never sensed anything like this. He used his spiritual sense daily to scan the room before sleeping, yet never once had this box been revealed. Heck, not even the previous Sect Master must have known about it—otherwise, it would've been discovered long ago.
'Maybe she knows,' Jiang Hong thought, turning his gaze toward Feng Chang, suspecting she might have some idea, since she was the one who brought everyone here.
"Sect Master, do you know what this is?" Lei Ping couldn't help but ask, his curiosity getting the better of him.
"Try opening it," Feng Chang replied without directly answering, instructing Lei Ping instead.
He nodded and stepped forward to grab the box, trying to lift it.
"Hmm?" Lei Ping frowned when the box didn't budge, no matter how hard he tried.
"Impossible!" Lei Ping exclaimed as he tried to open the box. He used all his might, even channeling spiritual energy, but it still wouldn't budge, causing his pupils to shrink in disbelief.
'What the hell is this made of? Is it really wood or something else?' Lei Ping cried inwardly. He could shatter a large mountain with a punch, yet he couldn't open a simple wooden box.
"Hehe, Supreme Elder, you should train more—it looks like you've gotten weak," Jiang Hong, who was watching from the side, couldn't help but tease. Lei Ping glared at him in embarrassment.
"Why don't you try, then?" Lei Ping sneered, inviting Jiang Hong to have a go.
"Hehe, let me show you how it's done," Jiang Hong said with a chuckle, walking forward confidently while Lei Ping watched coldly. However, Jiang Hong's smug smile quickly froze as he ended up in the exact same situation—completely unable to open the box.
'What the fuck?' Jiang Hong cursed inwardly, his face flushing with embarrassment as he heard Lei Ping snickering behind him.
"What's wrong? You can't open it either?" Lei Ping taunted, causing Jiang Hong's lips to twitch. He then frowned, staring hard at the box.
"Try using your weapon to open it," Feng Chang, who had been watching silently from the sidelines, finally suggested.
Jiang Hong nodded and brought out a spear. Gripping it tightly, he stabbed at the box, eager to see it get pierced and leave a hole.
Clang!
"Hmm?" Wang Ming raised an eyebrow when he noticed the spear seemed to strike metal the moment it made contact with the wooden box.
Clang! Clang!
Jiang Hong's eyebrows twitched at the sight. He delivered a few more stabs, but nothing happened—not even a scratch appeared on the box.
"I don't believe this thing can remain unscathed again!" Jiang Hong gritted his teeth. This time, he imbued the spear with spiritual energy and struck it with full force.
Clang!
Shatter!
"Fuck!" Jiang Hong cursed, his eyes bulging in disbelief at what he saw. He had expected the box to break—but instead, it was his spear that shattered.
Not only he, but the others were equally shocked at the sight.
'Heavens, what the hell is this thing made of? That spear was Heaven Rank—one of the best weapons I used in battle. And now, thanks to this damned box, I need to get a new one!' Jiang Hong cursed inwardly, glaring at the box in frustration.
Meanwhile, Lei Ping, who was nearby, used every ounce of willpower to stop himself from bursting into laughter. His lips twitched uncontrollably as he held it in.
"I refuse to believe this thing is unbreakable!" Jiang Hong cursed. He had completely forgotten that the goal was to open the box, not destroy it. But now, frustration had taken over—he no longer cared. Not even Wang Ming had ever made him this mad.
"Iron Shattering Fist!" Jiang Hong roared as spiritual energy surged through his body. He activated his fist technique, clenching his hand tightly as a metallic hue enveloped his fist. With a loud shout, he struck the wooden box with full force.
"Ahhhh… fuck… damn this box!" Jiang Hong cursed loudly. Instead of the box breaking, it was his fist that took the damage. It felt like he'd punched a solid iron wall—his fist throbbed in pain and was bleeding.
"That's it…" Jiang Hong's eyes turned bloodshot. He was about to use his most powerful technique. Earlier, he had held back, fearing he might damage the contents inside. But now, he didn't care.
"Enough! Are you trying to destroy what's inside the box?" Feng Chang said sternly, her sharp tone halting Jiang Hong mid-action. He stopped, grumbling in frustration.
