Chapter 149: Trial of Lightning Sword God Part 6
"So, what's the next test?"
Seeing that the conversation was going too dark, Tyler instantly changed the topic and asked.
"The next trial is rather easy. You just need to master this art in less than a day."
Mu Rong threw a book at him and disappeared.
Tyler was left alone in the room, a bit scared.
Compared to other things, he didn't have the raw talent.
Yeah, he did have lightning advantage and maybe even sword talent, but his talent for cultivation and comprehension weren't exactly high.
He still deeply remembered just how hard it was for him to practice the Tyrant Lightning Body Technique.
Despite the fact that he had lightning affinity.
When he looked at the cover of the book, he saw the title of the book in large fonts.
[Evergreen Immortal Sword Technique]
This was quite a name for a sword technique. Just reading this, he wasn't sure what kind of sword technique this was.
So, he turned the page and started reading the context, real information about the technique.
In less than a minute, he got an average idea about this technique.
Evergreen Immortal Sword Technique was a creation of Lightning Sword God when he couldn't combine his lightning and swordsmanship.
So, he created a kind of sword technique that could encompass anything.
Only for him to realize that this technique had one big limit, or rather, a new element to it.
Instead of merging lightning and swordsmanship, it would create a force known as the Evergreen Force.
When this force was generated, it could absorb two different forces and balance them forever.
Improving his lightning element would improve his swordsmanship, and improving his swordsmanship would improve his lightning element.
In other words, he had found a perfect balance for his swordsmanship and lightning.
But there was one major problem.
This Evergreen Force wasn't just a balance. It was an element of itself, formed out of the Law of Time.
Evergreen was a concept of never growing old. It was a concept that defied death and old age.
So, when the power of Time came to the equation, it suddenly became Lightning Time Swordsmanship.
This was not what he wanted to achieve, so he chose to keep it away.
But this technique did have one major advantage, as stated before. It could improve his swordsmanship and lightning if one of them was good enough.
And that was just perfect for him.
Because of his lightning mastery, his Sword Intent was a bit lacking behind. Even though he hadn't comprehended Lightning Law, he wasn't that far off.
In fact, he could comprehend it at any moment.
That's his confidence with his Lightning Element.
But the same couldn't be said for his swordsmanship.
As for this power not being pure lightning swordsmanship, Tyler wasn't too keen on that.
He wanted to merge lightning and swordsmanship, and one day he would do that.
But he never hesitated to take different methods.
Whether it was his Chaotic Force or Physical Cultivation, they were his alternative methods for gaining strength.
But there was one problem with practicing this technique.
Time! Law of Time!
He had no idea how he was going to do it. This was quite confusing, and hell, he might not even succeed.
He also understood why so many people hadn't succeeded.
But just because of the difficulty, he wouldn't give up. He started reading the entire content until the first stage.
He didn't go further since he didn't have much time.
He only had one day to comprehend it all.
Taking a deep breath, he sat cross-legged and thought.
'To combine my lightning and swordsmanship, I need to create an Evergreen Force.'
'Instead of thinking of it like the Law of Time, I need to think of it as a Law that can balance two different powers.'
'Wait a minute!'
Tyler suddenly paused for a moment.
There was another law, something that was much easier to comprehend than the Law of Time.
But it was one law that usually described, or rather controlled balance.
Balance between Fire and Water, balance between light and dark, balance between strength and weakness, balance between hard and softness.
Suddenly, he realized something.
A long time ago, when he was practicing his swordsmanship, he had mastered the Power of Hard and Softness.
If he could use that to comprehend the Power of Yin and Yang, he would be able to master the art of balance.
Then, he just had to follow the instructions to create a force by combining this balance with four-dimensional energy.
That was basically Time Energy.
Unfortunately, he didn't have Time Energy, but he did have Divine Energy.
Yes, he did have Divine Energy. When Carl improved after absorbing that life energy, he gave a lot of new information to Tyler.
Such as how he was a sapling of the God Tree and what the God Tree was.
Tyler never thought he would have a literal source of Divine Energy attached to his body.
No wonder those Laws were scrambling to get on the good side of Carl.
But he also admired Slaughter Law's guts. Despite Carl's cry, instead of fixing things with him, it even threatened and attacked him.
This was the true loyalty towards its purpose.
Slaughter Law represented the power of slaughter.
'When someone kills a large number of people without thinking of the consequences, that is the power of slaughter.'
Just killing a large number of people wouldn't make a person a murderer.
Reason was necessary, and thus, not having a reason or having a reason but not the right one was the only way to understand slaughter.
When Tyler found his mother dying in an illusion, he lost it.
His reasons, his conscience, and even his dreams.
He had only one in his mind.
Kill!
Kill the one who killed his mother. Kill the one who was related to the murderer. Kill the one who just watched his mother die.
Kill anyone and everything!
That level of madness attracted the Supreme Law, thus allowing him to borrow its power.
Slaughter Law had never felt this kind of desire before. It was raw. It was primal.
It wanted Tyler. It wanted make Tyler King. It would be Tyler's dog if Tyler had kept that kind of mentality forever.
But not only did Tyler not keep that mentality, he outright rejected that mentality when he found his mother alive.
This sudden change broke Slaughter Law's mind, its purpose, its love.
And, when that happened, Slaughter Law went mad as well.
In the fit of madness, Slaughter Law didn't even recognize Carl.
It took the combined beating from Destiny, Karma, and Reincarnation for it to realize the situation.
Although Slaughter Law calmed down, its hate for Tyler didn't disappear.
So, it left the Must Kill order on his mind.
Unfortunately, it underestimated Tyler or his fate.
Because the next moment, Tyler created what could only be described as the most powerful bloodline in the universe.
Even though he was not the strongest person.
After Carl grew, he learned a lot of things, including his heritage and his new powers.
Because Divine Energy existed above most of the universe, it could completely replace the energy of Time.
So, without much hesitation, Tyler tried to comprehend the Law of Yin-Yang.
It wasn't easy either. This was like comprehending the power of light and the power of darkness first.
After some quick thinking, he realized he could comprehend the power of light through the knowledge of science.
Light was a photon.
Photons were basically part of electromagnetic energy.
So, in the middle of his comprehension, he did a little bit of digging on the internet and found some more information about light and photons.
Using the power of electromagnetism, he started separating the electromagnetic energy to understand its properties.
Eventually, he realized that if he went from a scientific perspective, he would never be able to understand this.
So, he tried transforming the spiritual energy in his body into electromagnetic energy and kept comparing it to the photon.
It took him nearly an hour to produce light through his spiritual energy. When it was finally produced, he gained a new understanding of light.
Although not being able to utilize light like lightning, he could still transform his spiritual energy into light and produce a light construct.
After he finished with light, he started practicing with dark.
Unlike light, he had a pretty good concept of darkness.
The darkness could only exist where light couldn't, and that place happened to be shadows.
So, he had to understand shadows, comprehend the existence of shadows, and recreate them.
It wasn't so easy, especially controlling the shadow. Since shadows are basically the reflection of an object under sunlight.
So, he has to find a way to give form to the shadows.
And, after a little bit of brainstorming, he was able to use the power of softness on his spiritual energy, giving it a rubbery vibe before putting it in his shadows.
