Chapter 148: Trial of Lightning Sword God Part 5
A day later;
Tyler slowly opened his eyes. At this moment, he released his Spiritual Sense.
Just the release of his spiritual sense, something that was supposed to be invisible and intangible, had become something more.
The ground and walls around him shook. The sheer strength of his Spiritual Sense stunned Tyler.
He quickly called back his spiritual sense, only to find himself surrounded by several swords.
'So, these were the swords in that Array. Since I absorb the Immortal Energy of this array, it reveals every sword that existed here.'
'But...'
Tyler suddenly stood up. When he released his Spiritual Sense, he felt something strange about a certain sword.
Or rather a hilt.
He went to the sword that only had the hilt left. It was slightly stained with blood and covered in rust.
As he touched the hilt, he found something even more interesting.
For a moment, he was unable to pick it up.
That's right! It was only when he used his true strength, he was able to pick it up. And, this was only the hilt.
"I can feel your power. You are not here. You are there."
Tyler raised his head, looking at the ceiling. His spiritual sense emerged, and his gaze pierced through the ceiling.
With spiritual sense, he could see anything beyond the wall. And, right now, he was watching the sword.
It only had the blade on top of the castle.
This blade was attached to the castle and was missing the hilt. This hilt belonged to that blade.
But he couldn't summon it. For some reason, he felt no connection with the hilt.
As if this hilt hadn't registered him as its master.
"It makes sense. This should be the weapon of Lightning Sword God, right?"
"You are correct."
A voice came from behind. When Tyler turned, he saw Mu Rong appearing in the room.
She had a gentle smile on her face as she watched the hilt in his hand.
"That sword has quite an interesting history. Would you like to hear it?"
Tyler shrugged his shoulders and said.
"From what I can see, I have passed the second test, right?"
Mu Rong nodded her head.
"Despite your method, you did discover this sword, which means you have passed the test."
"First is the test of Willpower, second is the test of luck, and the final test is the test of talent."
"You know lightning is one thing that can travel at the speed of light. So, dodging lightning at such a distance is pretty much impossible."
"If you could, then you didn't need to pass his test. So, the first test was about your Willpower."
"How long can you bear the attacks of lightning? They are not just fast. They are destructive as well."
Hearing Tyler clicked his tongue.
"Those two hundred people must have suffered quite a lot or even brought some external help, right?"
Mu Rong chuckled and said.
"Yeah, out of two people, only fifteen bear the impact of the lightning by themselves. And, these fifteen people were body cultivators."
"But one or two doesn't matter. Being attacked by dozens of lightning bolts can be dangerous for any cultivator."
"Especially when you feel like you have passed the test, but new lightning bolts keep attacking you."
Tyler nodded his head.
"Yeah, I also felt frustrated during that time. If I wasn't so sure of my Lightning Immune, I wasn't sure how I would've gone through that trial."
"But I have a feeling I would've just kept attacking those lightning bolts. The problem was that every single destroyed lightning would create an explosion."
Mu Rong nodded.
"Indeed! That is why having the willpower to persevere through this test was necessary. Of course, having strength is also necessary, but the main objective is Willpower."
"The second test is about Luck. As I said before, my husband didn't have a talent for swordsmanship."
"Whether it was encountering his master or encountering different knowledge on swordsmanship was entirely due to his luck."
"That's why he created a test like this."
Tyler rubbed the back of his head and chuckled.
"Then I guess I messed it up."
Mu Rong smiled and shook her head.
"I never said you can't pick up all the swords. Nor did I ever say you can't absorb the energy from the array."
"So, you didn't break the rule. You relied on your opportunity to find your luck. You got what you need and got the best of all swords."
She said while looking at the hilt.
"That was used by my husband until one day he decided to break it and never use another weapon."
Tyler's eyes widened as he asked.
"But why?"
Mu Rong showed some shyness as she said.
"My husband loves swordsmanship. After he turned me into a physical woman and married me, he didn't want to fall in love with other women."
"As a swordsman, he had quite scary instincts. He made this sword using several materials, many divine materials."
"But after he started using it, he realized a new Sword Spirit was going to be born in that sword."
"So, before it could breed a new sword spirit, he broke the sword. He didn't want another sword spirit. From that day, he never used a weapon."
"He just turned his divine energy into a sword and used it in every battle."
Tyler opened his mouth wide, but was unable to say anything.
He didn't know how to view Lightning Sword God.
First, this was a prodigy born for the lightning element. But he started practicing swordsmanship and loved it.
His sword bred a Spirit, and then as his love for swordsmanship grew, his sword spirit became almost as same as a normal human being.
So, he turned his sword spirit into a woman and married her.
Now, because there was a possibility, or rather a hundred percent chance of a new sword spirit being born in his new sword, he decided to break it apart.
Couldn't he just like marry both of them?
Looking at Mu Rong's shy look, he couldn't help but feel helpless but also a bit scared.
Her husband absolutely loved her. She also loved her husband, but now, she had to live without her husband.
More importantly, she couldn't die as she was born from Immortal Origin Energy.
He released a deep breath, pushing out all frustration and fear as he asked.
"So, does this sword have Spirit? It shouldn't be right?"
Mu Rong shook her head and said.
"No, it doesn't. If it had, my husband wouldn't have broken it. He would never hurt a sword, much less a sword spirit."
Mu Rong pointed at the swords that were scattered on the ground and said.
"At best, he would just take them from his enemies. He almost destroyed his Sword Cultivation when he broke this sword."
Hearing that, Tyler heavily sighed.
"I have a question. How did Lightning Sword God die? Is it because he no longer had his weapon, and his strength declined?"
"No!"
Mu Rong shook her head and continued.
"As I said before, he almost got his Sword Cultivation destroyed. But I said almost. Because after this setback, he managed to recover and achieve an even newer height of sword cultivation."
"Then, he found that he could leave the universe."
Hearing that, Tyler narrowed his eyes and asked.
"So, he left you behind and left this universe! But I heard that he died."
Mu Rong shook her head and said.
"He said this because he didn't want others to remember him as a Sword God. He always respected his teacher, so he wanted to be called Lightning Sword God, now and forever."
"But because his lightning and swordsmanship never merged, instead his swordsmanship kept improving, he realized that the title would soon change."
"All of his teacher's hard work will go to waste. So, he decided to fake his death and leave."
At this moment, two drops of tears left her eyes.
"Then, why didn't you go with him?"
When she heard that question, Mu Rong didn't feel sad; instead, she laughed.
"Funny story, actually! When his swordsmanship improved, he became what Omegas were in all realms, all dimensions, and the universe."
At this moment, Tyler widened in shock.
Because Omega was an absolute god in their dimensions. He couldn't believe someone achieved that level of strength outside the dimension.
Mu Rong smiled and replied.
"Yeah! He realized that his sword had reached the point where the only way to improve it further was to fight a life and death battle."
"But the problem is nobody in this universe or those dimensions was willing to fight him."
"Because they also recognized the fact. If he improved even a little, he would be absolutely the strongest."
"My husband wasn't a bad person. He wouldn't find them for his selfish desire. So, one day, he decided he would leave."
"He made this trial, asked me to stay here, tore through the universe, and left. But I didn't stop him. Do you know why?"
Tyler shook his head.
Mu Rong sadly smiled and said.
"Because when he reached that level, the so-called love and emotions ceased to exist in his mind. He became an absolute swordsman."
"At that moment, he was no longer the man I married and loved. For me, he died the day he became stronger."
