Chapter 44: Rebuilding Tuwang Star
"Show no mercy to your enemies; aim to kill in one strike," Krillin advised, watching Shada Mo's high-speed movements.
Shada Mo took Krillin's words to heart, intensifying his attacks. Within moments, the hundred enemy aliens lay completely annihilated.
The crowd below erupted into cheers as they saw Shada Mo eliminate the final invader.
"We won! We've defeated those evil invaders!" Many Tugeda Star people embraced each other, crying tears of relief and joy.
Krillin floated over to a crack in the distant rocks. "Stop pretending. Get up!"
Shaz, hiding in the crevice, was filled with regret. "Why did I come here? I even taunted Krillin earlier! I'm doomed this time for sure."
Terrified, Shaz squeezed his eyes shut and refused to face Krillin.
"If you keep playing dead, I'll send you to meet your boss right now," Krillin said with a teasing smile.
Gulp! Shaz swallowed hard, leapt out of the crevice, and fell to his knees, kowtowing to Krillin. "Lord Krillin, I was wrong! Please spare my life! I shouldn't have lured Rick here!" His legs trembled uncontrollably, his heart pounding in his chest.
"Not bad. You did well and completed your task brilliantly. I won't kill you this time," Krillin said, patting Shaz on the shoulder with a smile.
Shaz grew even more terrified. "Is he really sparing me? Or is he just playing with me before killing me?"
Krillin turned and began walking toward the crowd, with Shada Mo following close behind.
Shaz hesitated for a long time, debating whether to run or stay. Ultimately, he chose to follow Krillin.
The crowd ran to meet Krillin and Shada Mo, shouting, "Long live Lord Krillin! Long live Shada Mo!"
Krillin smiled warmly at the people, while Shada Mo appeared a little embarrassed. Becoming a hero of Tugeda Star overnight was a role reversal he hadn't yet adjusted to.
Ian stepped forward from the crowd and called out, "Lord Krillin, thank you for everything you've done for Tugeda Star. Please allow us to honor you with our most sacred ceremony!"
Tens of thousands of eyes turned reverently toward Krillin as ancient and mysterious chants filled the air, blessing him.
When the ceremony concluded, Ian respectfully approached Krillin. "Lord Krillin, what should we do next?"
"The alien overseers have mostly been eliminated. Next, we'll rescue the rest of your people," Krillin said seriously.
Ian's face lit up with excitement. "Yes, Lord Krillin!"
"Shada Mo," Krillin continued, "the aliens' ships are still operational. Use them to free your people."
"I'm on it, Lord Krillin!" Shada Mo responded eagerly, stepping forward to handpick nine capable individuals.
The selected pilots boarded the ships and quickly ascended into the sky.
"Wait for me! I'll bring all our people back!" Shada Mo shouted before entering his ship.
Ian watched as Shada Mo's ship disappeared into the distance, his heart brimming with joy. "Tugeda Star will soon be rebuilt!"
The Liberation of Enslaved Zones
The alien ships were remarkably fast, reaching the No. 1 Slave Zone within moments.
"The boss is back! Prepare to welcome him!" a dark-skinned alien announced.
"Boss must've crushed the rebellion in no time. I wish I could be as strong as him someday," another alien mused, quickening his pace to line up.
A row of aliens stood at attention, ready to welcome their leader's landing.
"Shada Mo, what's the plan?" one of the Tugeda pilots asked.
"What do you mean, what's the plan? They're lined up for slaughter! Ready the ship's cannons and fire!" Shada Mo ordered fiercely.
"Something feels off," an alien muttered, noticing the ship's cannons pointed directly at them. Before he could voice his concerns—
Boom! Boom!
A massive mushroom cloud rose into the air, reducing the aliens to nothing but blood and scraps of flesh.
The enslaved Tugeda people in the labor camps paused briefly at the sound of the explosions, glancing skyward before silently returning to their work.
Shada Mo's ship landed in the center of the mining zone, and he emerged with his team.
Seeing fellow Tugeda people stepping off the alien ship, the enslaved workers were stunned.
"How… how did our people come out of their ships?"
Shada Mo gathered his strength, shouting with all his might, "My people! We are saved! The invaders are annihilated!"
His powerful voice reverberated across the mining zone, shaking every heart.
An elderly Tugeda man stood motionless, his tool slipping from his grasp as tears streamed down his face.
The laborers stopped in their tracks. For a moment, there was only silence.
Then, a deafening cheer erupted, shattering the clouds above and sending birds and beasts plummeting to the ground, their hearts and lungs ruptured by the sound.
The Rebirth of Tugeda Star
Two days later, the final group of enslaved Tugeda people was rescued. Reconstruction efforts began in earnest.
Each former slave zone was overseen by a respected elder, with Ian and eight others leading the overall efforts.
Meanwhile, Shaz toiled as a laborer, chopping massive trees to supply materials for construction.
Avila, seeing Shada Mo return, ran up to him with a sweet smile. "You've worked so hard, Shada Mo!" she said, gently wiping sweat from his brow with delicate hands, admiration shining in her eyes.
Shada Mo, taken aback by the tender gesture, stood frozen, his heart warm with the feeling of familial affection.
In just two days, the outline of their new home began to take shape.
"Lord Krillin," Ian reported with reverence, "all preparations are complete. We are ready to offer prayers to the Earth God and officially declare the rebuilding of our home."
Krillin nodded with a smile. "Tugeda Star is on the brink of a new beginning. Why not give it a new name, symbolizing rebirth?"
The crowd murmured in agreement. The name "Tugeda" felt outdated.
Turning to Krillin for suggestions, they watched him stroke his chin in thought before grinning mysteriously. "Let's call it Tuwang Star!"
Ian and the elders' eyes lit up. "Why didn't we think of that? Tuwang Star it is!"
The nine elders exchanged glances, then knelt before Shada Mo.
"Shada Mo, we ask you to take the throne as King of Tuwang Star and lead our people to a brighter future!"
"M-me? I'm not worthy!" Shada Mo stammered, flustered. "I'm only 250 years old! Too young to be king!"
"The throne belongs to you alone," the elders insisted. "Only you can unite the people of all nine zones and shoulder the responsibility of rebuilding Tuwang Star!"
Shada Mo hesitated, looking to Krillin for guidance.
Krillin nodded. "Ian is right. Tuwang Star needs a strong leader—someone who can protect the entire race."
Reluctantly, Shada Mo agreed. "If I mess up, you can't blame me," he said shyly.
The elders chuckled, bowing deeply. "We would never dare, Your Majesty!"
Krillin watched the scene unfold and smiled knowingly. "As expected…"
