Chen Feng took a quick glance at the lovely Tang Ya but didn't linger. A brief look is just a way to appreciate beauty, but staring too long can come off as rude. After spending years on his own, Chen Feng had developed a demeanor that set him apart from the average person; he wasn't easily distracted by a pretty face.

As fate would have it, the four of them crossed paths, and Chen Feng caught a snippet of the playful banter between Tang Ya and the blue-haired boy.

"Bei Bei, you're not feeling jealous, are you?" Tang Ya teased, her eyes sparkling as she looked at him.

"Isn't it exhausting to keep up that act?" 

"Xiao Ya, that's called cultivation!" Bei Bei replied, his expression turning serious as he shifted his gaze back to Chen Feng.

Tang Ya put her hands on her hips, adopting a mock-serious tone, "You should call me Teacher Xiao Ya!"

"Alright, Teacher Xiao Ya," Bei Bei said with a resigned smile.

Bei Bei studied Chen Feng, thinking that a person wandering around the Star Dou Forest alone, without any teachers or companions, must have some serious strength and should be approached with caution.

But Chen Feng's attention drifted past them to the unassuming, medium-built, slightly undernourished black-haired boy standing behind. That boy was none other than Huo Yuhao.

Chen Feng felt a spark of recognition and met Bei Bei's scrutinizing gaze. The air between them grew a bit tense.

"Hey, is there something you need? You've been staring at me for a while," Chen Feng said, breaking the silence.

Bei Bei felt a bit sheepish; after all, staring at someone in the Star Dou Forest wasn't exactly polite, especially since they were all strangers. It could easily lead to misunderstandings.

In the Star Dou Forest, one had to be cautious not just of the dangerous soul beasts but also of other humans. Who knows, the person might be a predator looking for suitable prey.

"My name is Tang Ya, and this is Bei Bei. We're both students at Shrek Academy," she introduced cheerfully.

Before Bei Bei could chime in, Tang Ya flashed a charming smile and added, "I just couldn't help but look a few extra times because you're so handsome! Sorry if it seemed weird."

She playfully stuck out her tongue, her cute antics making Huo Yuhao momentarily lose his train of thought.

Chen Feng couldn't help but smile at Tang Ya's lively compliment. 

Just like that, the previously tense atmosphere lightened up. However, Bei Bei still tugged at Tang Ya, his gaze toward Chen Feng now a bit more cautious.

He wasn't jealous; he just knew that revealing one's identity in the Star Dou Forest could be a risky move.

With their eyes on him, Chen Feng's smile grew wider.

"So, it's Senior Tang and Senior Bei! I'm actually a new student at Shrek Academy this year. My name is Chen Feng, and I'm from the Heavenly Soul Empire."

"You're a new student at Shrek Academy? From the Heavenly Soul Empire?" Tang Ya's eyes lit up with excitement.

"That's awesome! Bei Bei and I are also from the Heavenly Soul Empire; we're all from the same place!" 

They started chatting casually, and while Chen Feng engaged with Tang Ya and Bei Bei, he kept a part of his attention on Huo Yuhao.

Suddenly, a strange psychic force field enveloped them.

Tang Ya and Bei Bei felt dizzy right away.

Huo Yuhao, unable to handle it, collapsed to the ground.

Only Chen Feng, thanks to his strong spirit and the protection of the Soul Furnace, remained completely unaffected.

He released his spiritual power outward; with the expansion of his spiritual sea thanks to Tian Meng's Ice Silkworm and part of Tian Meng's spiritual source, his spiritual power had reached a level that rivaled a Soul Sage or higher.

Chen Feng's spiritual power quickly locked onto a soul beast hiding in the woods.

It was a creature about two meters tall and three meters long, resembling a wolf but smaller than an ordinary one. Its striking purple fur and tiny, somewhat mischievous eyes made it stand out. Its front legs were short, barely supporting its body.

This was a three-hundred-year-old Purple Spirit Beast, a spirit-type soul beast. Its innate ability, Weakness, could affect the central nervous system of those hit by its mental waves, causing dizziness and weakness without diminishing their soul power.

Seeing a human unaffected by its influence, the Purple Spirit Beast was immediately frightened and prepared to flee.

Chen Feng quickly stepped in front of it. Despite the beast's decent mental power, its short legs made it weak in close combat, and it stood no chance against Chen Feng.

With the Broken Soul Blade in hand, Chen Feng struck down with a swift, beautiful arc of light, severely injuring the Purple Spirit Beast and causing it to lose consciousness.

By this time, Bei Bei and Tang Ya, who had initially been affected, had shaken off the beast's control and rushed toward it, only to find that Chen Feng had already taken care of it.

Tang Ya's face lit up when she recognized the Purple Spirit Beast. "Chen Feng, you really hurt this Purple Spirit Beast! Can I buy it from you with gold soul coins?"

Chen Feng understood her intentions; she clearly wanted to give it to Huo Yuhao.

"Since you asked, Senior Sister, just take it. There's no need to discuss compensation for a hundred-year soul beast," Chen Feng replied.

He figured that even if he hadn't intervened, the Purple Spirit Beast wouldn't have stood a chance against Bei Bei and Tang Ya. Plus, he had no use for it, so it was better to let it go as a favor.

"Yuhao, hurry up and act! This Purple Spirit Beast's soul ring will be perfect for you." With Chen Feng's approval, Tang Ya waved to Huo Yuhao.

"Thank you!" 

Huo Yuhao finally snapped back to reality and expressed his gratitude. His mother had always taught him to be polite, but standing in front of the handsome and powerful Chen Feng made him feel a bit small.

As a new student at Shrek Academy, he still needed help from his seniors to obtain a soul ring, while others could easily take down powerful hundred-year soul beasts on their own.

This gap left Huo Yuhao feeling a bit frustrated.

"Yuhao, from now on, absorbing the soul ring is up to you. Just stay focused," Chen Feng encouraged.

"Thank you, senior brother." Huo Yuhao nodded, adjusting his mindset, and began to draw in the soul ring with his soul power, taking his first step toward becoming a soul master.

While Huo Yuhao was busy absorbing the soul ring, Bei Bei approached Chen Feng, his demeanor less guarded than before.

However, feeling a bit protective, he still kept a watchful eye on Chen Feng, who was not only handsome but also incredibly powerful, worried that Xiao Ya might take a liking to him.

Chen Feng smiled and looked at Bei Bei, "Is there something you need, Senior Bei?"
