Don’t Play Games at Evil Spirit High

Ch. 14

Chapter 14: Death from a Fall

“Exactly, you didn’t say it, so does that mean we can just leave our classmates behind?”

Wu Fan spoke righteously, and right after, his followers Xiao Zhiquan and Zhang Yifeng chimed in,

“That’s right, that’s right! Do you know how hard it was for the three of us to find you? Hah, no good deed goes unpunished!”

“If it weren’t for the fact that you’re our classmates, we wouldn’t have cared about you a long time ago, ungrateful wolves!”

Their words immediately stirred up everyone’s emotions, and with the reputation Wu Fan had just established, almost everyone began to side against Lu Feng and his group.

“Others went looking for you out of classmate loyalty, and you actually say such heartless things?”

“Acting so arrogant, who are you putting on a show for?”

“They shouldn’t have bothered with them in the first place. Better to let them fend for themselves.”

Listening to the ridicule and contempt of the others, Zhang Tong, who knew the truth, was so angry that his face turned from red to white.

“Nonsense! You didn’t even—”

Just as Zhang Tong was about to argue, Lu Feng suddenly reached out to stop him.

Meeting Zhang Tong’s surprised gaze, he shook his head slightly.

Stopping Zhang Tong, Lu Feng stepped forward, bowed his head slightly, and said,

“Sorry, we shouldn’t have left without saying a word and let everyone waste so much effort on us. I’m truly sorry.”

Seeing Lu Feng actually apologizing, Wu Fan’s eyes flashed with pride, and even his tone grew more triumphant,

“As long as you know you did wrong, don’t repeat it. Right now, everyone’s time is very precious.”

With that, he turned to the others and continued,

“Classmates, ten minutes from now, we’ll gather in the reception hall on the second floor to analyze and discuss the situation. I hope everyone comes. Of course, if you really don’t want to, I won’t force you.”

As he spoke, he cast a deliberate glance at Lu Feng and his group.

At this point, Wu Fan had clearly become the absolute core of the class.

After speaking, Wu Fan led the others away, leaving only Lu Feng and his companions still standing there.

“Lu Feng, why did you apologize to that guy? Isn’t he clearly picking a fight?”

Lin You spoke angrily, grinding his teeth.

“Exactly, they never even went to look for you.” Zhang Tong added.

Lu Feng sighed and shook his head slightly,

“Even if Wu Fan is deliberately stirring trouble, what can we do? Everyone is clearly on his side. If we said they were lying, would anyone believe it?”

Seeing Lin You and the others lower their heads in silence, Lu Feng went on,

“Besides, if we fall out with them completely right now, they’ll definitely target us in every way from here on. This game alone is troublesome enough—who would still have the energy to deal with them…”

Hearing this, the others, though unwilling, could only nod in agreement.

“In short, Wu Fan holds the class’s support now. We shouldn’t clash with them head-on. It’ll only bring harm, not benefit.”

There were two great misfortunes in the world: when a gentleman broke the law, and when a petty man gained power.

After what just happened, Lu Feng understood that once Wu Fan became the leader of this group, he, Yu Mo, Liuli, and Lin You would inevitably be pushed to the margins.

After all, he had disliked this group for a long time already.

“Then… do we still need to attend that so-called meeting of theirs?”

Yu Mo asked hesitantly.

Lu Feng shook his head,

“No. The game rules are only those few. What could they possibly analyze?”

In truth, there was another reason Lu Feng didn’t tell the others—he was very worried that Wu Fan might be an Evil Spirit Follower.

If that guy really was one, then he might deliberately spread false information to confuse everyone.

“Since we’re not going, then let’s just—”

Grrr——

Suddenly, a low rumbling sound came from somewhere.

“Who just farted?”

Lin You blurted without thinking.

Yu Mo immediately kicked his knee, “You talk too much!”

Just as the group grew a little awkward, Liuli suddenly spoke,

“Um…”

Everyone instantly turned to look at her.

The girl was holding her stomach, her beautiful face now blushing red.

“It was my stomach…”

Everyone realized at once.

Oh, so it was hunger~

But thanks to Liuli’s reminder, they also became aware of the problem—how were they supposed to eat in this haunted place?

“I heard them say there’s a restaurant on the second floor, but…”

Zhang Tong sounded hesitant.

“But what?”

Lin You pressed.

“…But… it doesn’t seem quite right.”

“What’s not right about it?”

“I don’t know…”

Just as Lin You wanted to continue asking, Lu Feng quickly stopped him and said,

“I’m hungry too. Why don’t we go check out the restaurant first?”

After a short discussion, they decided to head there together.

After all, in this old mansion, anything could happen—acting as a group was safer.

Just as they stepped onto the second floor, preparing to head to the restaurant, they suddenly heard fierce arguing erupt from a room on the third floor.

Because of the walls, they couldn’t clearly hear what was being said.

While they wondered who could be quarreling at a time like this, the sounds suddenly shifted to shattering glass and a shrill, terrified scream.

“Ahhhhhhh!!!!”

Bang——

The scream lasted only a moment.

Then, with the heavy thud of something crashing to the ground, it was cut off.

The sudden turn of events stunned everyone in place—until Lu Feng reacted first and immediately rushed up to the third floor.

When he arrived, Lu Feng discovered that the entire third floor consisted of bedrooms.

He quickly ran in the direction of the argument, searching for the room it came from, and sure enough, found one door left slightly ajar.

He pushed it open with force, and a pale, petite girl appeared before his eyes—it was Dong Ningning from their class.

At this moment, the room’s window had already shattered.

Even the wooden frame was broken, exposing its rotten, blackened surface.

“What happened? What just happened?”

Lu Feng hurried to Dong Ningning and asked anxiously.

“H-he… he…”

The girl’s face was ashen, her whole body trembling so hard she could barely speak.

She only raised her hand to point at the ruined window.

Lu Feng understood at once.

He quickly stepped to the window and looked down—

Directly beneath the window, a person lay sprawled on the ground.

His eyes were wide open, terror still etched on his face, but his head was completely misshapen, his limbs twisted into grotesque angles.

Crimson blood mixed with brain matter pooled beneath him, merging into a strange, uncanny color.

That person was Wu Fan.

He was dead.
