Doctor and His Glamorous Sister-in-Law

Liu Ergou's action startled Lu Shuangyue.

Lu Shuangyue hastily sat up, clutching her chest as she quickly retreated to the corner of the room.

"What are you doing!" Lu Shuangyue asked, her face filled with terror.

However, her words only earned her a massive eye-roll from Liu Ergou.

"That's ridiculous!" he scoffed. "What else would I be doing? Of course I'm resting. Do you think treating you doesn't take any effort? Honestly, I'm done with you!"

With that, Liu Ergou turned over and closed his eyes to rest.

His words made Lu Shuangyue blush with embarrassment. It turned out Liu Ergou was just resting, yet she had judged a gentleman by her own petty standards. It was truly shameful.

Thinking this, Lu Shuangyue said no more and quietly sat on the sofa to wait.

In the blink of an eye, half an hour passed.

Liu Ergou sat up in bed, gave a big stretch, and then headed for the door.

Seeing Liu Ergou about to leave, Lu Shuangyue asked in confusion, "Er Gou, dinner's almost ready. Where are you going?"

Without turning his head, Liu Ergou waved his hand dismissively. "Where else? I'm going home, of course! My sister-in-law is waiting for me. I haven't eaten dinner at home in several days, and she'll worry if I don't go back. No need to see me off; I'll take the bus myself!"

Without giving Lu Shuangyue a chance to ask him to stay, Liu Ergou strode away.

As she watched Liu Ergou's retreating figure, an inexplicable feeling of jealousy stirred in Lu Shuangyue's heart. She found herself starting to feel jealous of Liu Ergou's sister-in-law, but at the same time, she also felt envious of her.

Why isn't there anyone who values me so much? Damn it!

At this thought, Lu Shuangyue felt like she was starting to lose her mind.

Meanwhile, Liu Ergou, who had already arrived at the bus station, had no idea that Lu Shuangyue was beginning to develop different feelings for him.

Liu Ergou had originally planned to take a taxi home. However, since Lu Shuangyue had picked him up personally, he didn't have much money on him. All he had left was enough for a single bus ticket.

After a short wait at the station, the bus arrived.

For some reason, however, the bus to Fengzhu Village was packed with people today. The usually spacious bus was crammed full.

Liu Ergou was tall and broad-shouldered, so he took up a lot of space after boarding, forcing other passengers to press up tightly against him. He didn't mind the crowded conditions. He was used to it, as this was hardly his first time on a packed bus.

The bus slowly lurched into motion. The road to Fengzhu Village was rough, and the bus swayed and rattled the entire way, making Liu Ergou so drowsy he was about to fall asleep.

He wasn't sure how much time had passed when a soft body suddenly fell into his arms, jolting the drowsy Liu Ergou wide awake. One of his hands instinctively wrapped around the soft form to steady her.

A moment later, however, a scream pierced the air.

"AH!"

The piercing scream made Liu Ergou instinctively look down. In his arms was a petite, cute, and innocent-looking girl. Right now, the girl was staring at Liu Ergou, her face pale and her eyes filled with terror.

The girl's scream also startled the other passengers. However, they merely glanced at Liu Ergou and the girl before turning away as if nothing had happened.

Soon, Liu Ergou overheard the other passengers murmuring.

"Tch, look at this young couple. Showing off their affection on a bus this crowded... I swear!"

"Yeah, but you have to admit, they do look good together!"

"Alright, stop staring. It's none of our business!"

Hearing their chatter, Liu Ergou looked down at the girl in his arms again. He saw that she had tears welling up in her eyes and was looking at him pleadingly, as if for help.

This left Liu Ergou utterly perplexed. He couldn't understand what was wrong with her. A second later, the girl discreetly flicked her eyes toward the space behind her.

Following her gaze, Liu Ergou instantly understood the situation.

Behind the girl, a short, sleazy-looking man was desperately trying to squeeze closer. A lewd grin was plastered on his face. In the blink of an eye, he was right behind the girl, reaching out a lecherous hand toward her.

It was only then that Liu Ergou grasped the full picture.

Just as the sleazy man was about to touch the girl's rear, Liu Ergou's hand shot out and clamped down on his wrist.

He snarled, "What do you think you're doing?!"

Liu Ergou's sharp rebuke made everyone on the bus turn to look. But the sleazy man, caught red-handed, didn't panic. Instead, he became surprisingly defiant.

"What am I doing? I'm just trying to move forward! What's your problem, grabbing me like that?" he retorted. "I'm getting off at the next stop. Are you trying to stop me from getting off the bus?"

Liu Ergou let out a cold laugh. "Getting off? Are you sure you weren't trying to take advantage of my girlfriend?"

Hearing Liu Ergou say that, the girl in his arms couldn't help but blush. She didn't say anything, though, only burying her face shyly in Liu Ergou's chest.

Hearing Liu Ergou's words, the sleazy man erupted in a stream of curses.

"Fuck, you little bastard!" he roared. "You're just making shit up! What girlfriend? I'm just trying to get off the bus! If you keep slandering me, you'll be sorry!"

As he spoke, the sleazy man pulled a small knife from his pocket and aimed it straight at Liu Ergou. A smug grin spread across his face.

The moment the other passengers on the crowded bus saw the knife, they scrambled back, instantly creating a small clearing in the aisle.

The sleazy man gloated, "Heh, you see this, kid? See what I'm holding? Shut your mouth right now, and I'll pretend this never happened. Otherwise, don't blame my knife if it accidentally slips and puts a few holes in you..."

The sleazy man trailed off, his cold gaze raking up and down Liu Ergou's body.

Anyone else would have likely backed down to keep the peace.

Unfortunately for him, he had run into Liu Ergou.

Liu Ergou looked at the smug creep in front of him. He didn't want to waste any more time on this.

But backing down was absolutely out of the question!
