Doctor and His Glamorous Sister-in-Law

Soon, Lu Xiaoyu had slid to the very bottom of the sofa.

However, just at that moment, Liu Ergou suddenly reached out, grabbed both of her hands, and yanked her back up.

Dragged back onto the sofa, Lu Xiaoyu looked completely bewildered. "Liu Ergou, what are you trying to do?"

Seeing her confused expression, Liu Ergou sneered. "What do you think I'm doing? You'd better behave and stop causing trouble!"

With that, Liu Ergou flipped over, sat up, and casually put his clothes back on.

Lu Xiaoyu stared in disbelief. I went through all that effort, and this is the result?

Unable to hold back any longer, she snapped, "Hey! What's the big idea? You take advantage of me and now you're just going to run off?"

To her astonishment, Liu Ergou immediately retorted with righteous indignation, "When did I take advantage of you? It was clearly you who took advantage of me!"

"So you're allowed to take advantage of me, but I'm not allowed to leave?" he continued. "What kind of logic is that!"

His words left Lu Xiaoyu frozen in place. She couldn't believe he could say something so shameless. The depths of his shamelessness were simply beyond her imagination.

Furious, Lu Xiaoyu began to heave with ragged breaths. After panting for a moment, she pointed to the door and yelled, "Liu Ergou, get the hell out of here! Don't let me see you again! If I ever see you again, I swear I'll bite you to death!"

Seeing how furious she was, Liu Ergou didn't leave. Instead, he made himself more comfortable on the sofa. "Tsk, tsk. If I leave just because you say so, where would my dignity be? Don't I get to have any face?"

"I'm not leaving," he declared. "If you have the guts, go ahead and bite me to death."

With that, Liu Ergou extended his arm toward her, offering it up as if to say, 'Be my guest.'

This made Lu Xiaoyu so mad that her nose was nearly crooked with anger. Finally, she just turned her head away, giving him the silent treatment.

Liu Ergou chuckled at the sight. He got up and went to the kitchen, where he rummaged around and found some mung beans, rock sugar, and a clay pot that hadn't been used in a long time.

He shook his head as he looked at the mung beans. Mung bean soup was supposed to be made with beans that had been soaked beforehand. Since everything had happened so suddenly, there was no time for that. He would just have to cook them a little longer. The result would be the same, of course, it would just take more time.

Afterward, Liu Ergou carefully washed the mung beans, put them in the clay pot, brought the water to a boil over high heat, added the rock sugar, and turned it down to a simmer.

After completing all this, he returned to the living room.

Lu Xiaoyu was still fuming. Hearing footsteps, she turned her head and saw Liu Ergou walk out of the kitchen. The sight of him made her seethe with anger.

She snapped at him, "Who said you could go into my kitchen? Get out! If you don't leave right now, I'll throw you out myself!"

With that, Lu Xiaoyu shot up from the sofa, rushed in front of Liu Ergou, and began pounding on his chest with her small fists.

Liu Ergou remained expressionless. Her punches had no strength; they felt as light as a massage. One punch followed another. Soon, her fists were raining down on him. But no matter how hard she hit him, Liu Ergou didn't react at all.

Instead, it was Lu Xiaoyu herself who, so absorbed in her assault, lost her footing and tumbled forward.

Seeing this, Liu Ergou instinctively thought to catch her, but then he had a second thought. The last time he'd caught her, the woman had latched onto him and refused to let go.

The same trick won't work on me twice!

With this in mind, Liu Ergou withdrew his hand.

And so, Lu Xiaoyu slammed into the floor with a scream.

"Ow!"

The fall was especially hard, leaving her seeing stars. Lying on the floor, Lu Xiaoyu couldn't help but question herself.

Do I really have no charm at all? I fall down and he won't even help me up. Ahhh! That damnable Liu Ergou!

In the end, she placed all the blame on Liu Ergou.

Meanwhile, seeing Lu Xiaoyu on the ground, Liu Ergou couldn't help but sneer. "Hah, a petty trick."

"Still trying to trick me into helping you up? I'm telling you, the same trick won't work twice!"

Thinking this, Lu Xiaoyu prepared to get up from the ground to give him a flying kick. She was going to teach him a lesson.

Pushing off with her hands, she started to get up, but to her shock, a sharp pain shot through her ankle the moment she put weight on it. The pain was unbearable. Her leg gave out, and she collapsed again.

Lu Xiaoyu expected to hit the hard floor again, but to her great surprise, Liu Ergou caught her this time.

Lying in Liu Ergou's arms, Lu Xiaoyu scoffed. "Hmph! Look who suddenly grew a conscience and decided to catch me."

Hearing her sarcastic tone, Liu Ergou didn't bother arguing. "I'm a doctor," he stated plainly. "I could see you sprained your ankle, that's why I caught you. Don't get any funny ideas."

Saying this, Liu Ergou picked Lu Xiaoyu up to carry her to the sofa.

The moment he lifted her, however, a foul smell assaulted his nostrils, making him frown.

"Ugh, what is that smell? Why is it so disgusting?" Liu Ergou muttered, his brow furrowed.

Lu Xiaoyu's fury reignited at his comment.

He's telling a fragrant beauty like me that I smell disgusting? It's official. There is definitely something wrong with this man's head.

Just as she was about to retort, she opened her mouth and the same foul smell hit her own nose.
