"Yeah, I'm in the city. I'm at the Century Hotel right now. If it's convenient, just come and pick me up," Liu Ergou said directly.

The words had barely left his mouth when he heard Lu Xiaoyu hiss through gritted teeth, "Fine, I get it. You just wait for me. I'm on my way!"

With a sharp CLICK, the line went dead, leaving a bewildered Liu Ergou behind.

While waiting for Lu Xiaoyu to arrive, Liu Ergou began to review her medical condition. No matter how much he mulled it over, he couldn't understand why his medicine would cause her to have a nosebleed, especially one so severe. In the end, he could only set his thoughts aside and wait patiently. Once she arrived, all his questions would be answered.

While waiting, he didn't forget to call Liu Yunxi to let her know he had to go out for a bit. Liu Yunxi said she understood and told him not to worry, as she probably wouldn't be back until that evening anyway.

He waited for about half an hour before his phone finally rang. As soon as he answered, Lu Xiaoyu's angry voice burst through the receiver.

"Get downstairs!"

"I'm in the white car! The license plate ends in 230!"

With that, she hung up with another abrupt CLICK.

Liu Ergou didn't dare to hesitate and hurried downstairs. He scanned the area according to Lu Xiaoyu's directions and quickly spotted her car. He walked over and tapped gently on the window. It rolled down, revealing Lu Xiaoyu's delicate face.

When she saw Liu Ergou, she seemed taken aback for a moment before pursing her lips into a faint smile.

"Hurry and get in," Lu Xiaoyu said, opening the passenger door.

Liu Ergou said nothing and slid into the passenger seat. The car sped away, leaving the Century Hotel in the dust.

「A short while later.」

Lu Xiaoyu drove him to a residential area filled with villas, finally stopping in front of one.

"Alright, we're at my place. Let's get out."

Lu Xiaoyu led the way out of the car, and Liu Ergou followed closely behind. When he stepped out and saw the villa before him, he couldn't help but gasp in amazement.

"Wow, Lu Xiaoyu! I never imagined you were secretly rich, living in a villa this nice!"

Hearing his compliment, Lu Xiaoyu lifted her chin proudly.

"It's just alright."

"The villas here are pretty ordinary. The only good thing is the environment. If it weren't for that, they'd be worthless."

Her expression then changed instantly.

"Alright, enough about the villa. You need to explain this thing with my nose…"

Before she could finish, a stream of blood gushed from her nose, tracing a graceful arc through the air before splattering on the ground.

Seeing the blood, Lu Xiaoyu quickly grabbed a couple of tissues from the car and stuffed them up her nostrils.

Her voice muffled, she said, "See, Liu Ergou? Now do you see it?"

"Explain to me why I'm having nosebleeds, and why they're so bad!"

"If you can't give me a clear explanation today, I swear I'll take you down with me!"

Looking at her, Liu Ergou didn't speak. Instead, he crouched down, dipped a finger into the pool of blood, and rubbed it between his thumb and forefinger. After a moment of contemplation, he looked up at her. "If I were you, I would keep my mouth shut."

"Besides, your condition is aggravated by restlessness and agitation. Staying calm would be good for you; at the very least, it might slow the bleeding."

Hearing this, Lu Xiaoyu rolled her eyes and led him into her villa.

Once inside, Liu Ergou got straight to the point.

"You said there was a problem with the medicine I prescribed. Fine, no more beating around the bush. Bring me the herbs you bought. I want to see all of them."

Seeing his confident demeanor, Lu Xiaoyu became absolutely furious. She stomped her foot, disappeared into another room, and returned with a pile of dregs, which she slammed down on the table in front of him.

"I finished the medicine! This is all that's left—a pile of dregs!"

"That's all there is!"

Ignoring her anger, Liu Ergou bent over the table and began sifting through the dregs. He spent a good half hour carefully picking through them.

Finally, Liu Ergou picked up a piece of a root and held it right in front of her.

Lu Xiaoyu stared at the herb, completely bewildered. She had no idea what he was getting at.

His face dark, Liu Ergou said, "Lu Xiaoyu, do you recognize this herb?"

She glanced at it and nodded.

"Of course, I do. It's ginseng, isn't it? What about it?"

Seeing her self-righteous attitude, Liu Ergou was so infuriated he wanted to punch her. But in the end, he managed to restrain himself.

Suppressing his rage, he said, "What did I write on the prescription? I told you that ordinary ginseng would be fine!"

"Just look at what you did! You used wild ginseng over twenty years old!"

"Who told you to change the ingredients without permission?"

"Why didn't you just swap it for a hundred-year-old ginseng? A century-old one would have been even better!"

"One dose of that and your blood vessels would have burst! You'd have died on the spot! Then you wouldn't have to be here arguing with me!"

By the end, Liu Ergou could no longer contain his anger and roared at her.

Startled by his outburst, Lu Xiaoyu was stunned. She had never imagined that the cause of her nosebleeds was her own decision to replace the ordinary ginseng with a ten-year-old one.

Realizing her mistake, she let out a sheepish chuckle and began to explain.

"Hehe, well, you know… I thought the ordinary ginseng wasn't potent enough, so I swapped it for a ten-year-old one. I thought it would make the medicine more powerful and that my illness would heal faster!"

The moment she finished speaking, Liu Ergou slapped a hand to his forehead in exasperation and let out a long sigh.

"Ah, I'm really at my wit's end with you!" he said, his face a mask of helplessness.

"Don't you understand? Your body is too weak right now to handle potent supplements!"

"Ordinary ginseng was exactly what you needed, but you took it upon yourself to change it to one over ten years old. That was just way too much nourishment!"

"And now you have non-stop nosebleeds… you're lucky you aren't just spraying blood everywhere! Honestly… I give up!"
