Doctor and His Glamorous Sister-in-Law

Liu Yunxi covered her mouth and laughed when she heard Liu Ergou's complaints.

"Sigh, there's really no helping it."

"Anyway, this is the only time we'll have to deal with this hassle. It won't happen again!"

After saying this, Liu Yunxi prepared to lie down on the bed to rest, but she hesitated when she saw Liu Ergou already lying there.

It seemed... a bit inappropriate for her to lie down as well.

As soon as she sat down, Liu Yunxi suddenly noticed the shoes Liu Ergou was wearing. To her surprise, they were a pair of handmade cloth shoes, which made her sigh.

"Hey, Er Gou, did you forget to change your shoes before you left, or is this the only pair you have?"

Liu Yunxi's abrupt question left Liu Ergou somewhat confused.

Although perplexed, he still answered honestly, "I didn't forget to change them. All I have are cloth shoes. Why? Is there something wrong with my shoes?"

Before she could finish the word "strange," Liu Yunxi suddenly realized there was also something wrong with Liu Ergou's clothes. After examining them closely for a moment, she couldn't help but let out another long sigh.

"Oh dear, Er Gou, I just now realized you're wearing a Chinese tunic suit. I thought it was a Western-style suit!"

Liu Yunxi mulled over his words, momentarily unsure of what to say. On the surface, he wasn't wrong; it was, indeed, a serious matter. Still, a Chinese tunic suit was the wrong choice for this.

Thinking this, Liu Yunxi pressed a hand to her forehead, stood up, and said to Liu Ergou, "Oh, if I had known you were going to wear this, I would've taken you straight to the mall!"

"It's my fault for not looking carefully!"

Without a moment's hesitation, Liu Yunxi turned and headed for the door. "Er Gou, you stay here, okay?" she said as she walked. "I'm going to the mall to buy you a suit. You can't go wearing that tunic suit."

"That style is out-of-date. Just stay in the hotel. If you get bored, turn on the TV!"

With that, Liu Yunxi left.

Now, Liu Ergou was the only one left in the hotel room. He looked down at the Chinese tunic suit he was wearing and shook his head in bewilderment.

He really couldn't understand how such nice clothes could have gone out of style. The thought was deeply disheartening.

After pushing these thoughts aside, Liu Ergou lay back down on the bed and stretched lazily. Just as he was about to take a nap, his phone suddenly rang. Ergou picked it up and saw the caller was Lu Xiaoyu.

He couldn't help but feel puzzled.

Why is Lu Xiaoyu calling me all of a sudden? Is she trying to rush me into another treatment? That can't be right. I just treated her. Another session so soon would be ineffective since the interval is too short.

With this in mind, a baffled Liu Ergou answered the phone.

The moment the call connected, Lu Xiaoyu's roaring voice came through the receiver.

"Liu Ergou!"

"And to think I trusted you so much! I can't believe you'd deceive me! After I drank the medicine you prescribed, my nose started gushing blood and I had to be rushed to the hospital!"

"Do you know what the doctor told me?! He said if I had arrived any later, I would have literally bled to death through my nose!"

"I'm not afraid of dying, but bleeding to death from a nosebleed is just too embarrassing!"

"Liu Ergou, if you don't give me a clear explanation today, this isn't over between us!"

Hearing this barrage of angry accusations, Liu Ergou couldn't help but furrow his brow.

"Was there a problem with the herbs you had filled?"

As soon as he said this, Lu Xiaoyu roared again from the other end of the line.

"Liu Ergou, what nonsense are you spouting!"

"I got the herbs on your prescription filled exactly as written! If there was any discrepancy, it would be a matter of weight at most, and only by a gram or two!"

"And I asked the doctor! He said a little more or less wouldn't have made a difference!"

"Besides, I got these herbs from Baozhi Hall. You're not going to suggest my own niece would try to harm me, are you?"

Lu Xiaoyu's words only made the already confused Liu Ergou even more bewildered.

If none of that was the issue, then how could she possibly have gotten a nosebleed?

Utterly baffled, Liu Ergou could only say helplessly, "Alright, alright. It's my fault, okay?"

"By the way, where are you now? I'll come over and take a look to see what went wrong."

Lu Xiaoyu replied, "I'm in the city. By the time you get here from where you are, it'll be tomorrow at the earliest."

"Let's do this: you come to the city tomorrow, and I'll pick you up!"
