What Liu Ergou hadn't expected was that the main gate wasn't locked at all. When he leaned against it, it swung open, causing him to stumble and nearly fall flat on his face.

"Fuck!" Liu Ergou exclaimed, hastily steadying himself.

He stared at the unlocked gate, lost in thought. What the hell? Didn't Liu Yunxi come down to lock the gate after I left last night?

At that thought, Liu Ergou couldn't be bothered with anything else and hurried inside. When he reached the door to her room, he found it was locked.

Meanwhile, Liu Yunxi was in a deep sleep, enjoying a sweet dream, when a rapid, urgent knocking noise jolted her from it. Waking with a start, she looked toward the door with a dazed expression. Someone was knocking. Still groggy, she didn't think much of it, simply shuffling to the door in her slippers. She opened it and then immediately went back to bed, collapsing onto it to continue sleeping.

Liu Ergou blinked, witnessing this scene, at a loss for words. Liu Yunxi was far too careless. I nearly knocked the door off its hinges, and she can still just go back to sleep? That's truly impressive.

Shaking his head in resignation, Liu Ergou finally stepped into the room. As soon as he was inside, he saw Liu Yunxi sprawled on the bed. Her pajama top had ridden up, revealing her small, black-panty-clad bottom.

Seeing she was safe, Liu Ergou finally felt relieved. It's a relief that nothing happened.

But seeing Liu Yunxi in that state, a bold idea popped into his head. After a moment of contemplation, he felt his idea was very feasible. So, he tiptoed over to her side and brought his palm down on her little bottom.

With that, he pulled out his phone.

Liu Yunxi glanced at the time and saw that it was already around ten in the morning. Seeing the time, she snorted indignantly. "It's only ten! I was busy and went to bed very late last night!"

"To start, why didn't you lock the main gate when you went to bed?"

"Let's go to town today to buy seeds. Tell me what kind you want so I know what to get!"

Without giving Liu Ergou a chance to reply, she hopped off the bed and hurried to wash up. After freshening up, Liu Yunxi had returned to her usual youthful and radiant self.

The two then set off for town to buy seeds for medicinal herbs.

With that, Liu Ergou hurried off again, leaving Liu Yunxi alone in the breakfast shop.
