I just picked her up and haven't even gotten her settled, and here you are dragging me off to treat Hui Lan. Do you think that's appropriate?"

Confronted like this, Luo Kang came to his senses. It really wasn't appropriate. He had been so focused on his own problems that he'd forgotten about official business. He stood there, dumbfounded, not knowing what to do.

Seeing Luo Kang's bewildered expression, Liu Ergou thought for a moment before asking, "Brother Luo Kang, do you have anything else to do later?"

Luo Kang thought carefully. "Yes," he replied. "I was planning to take you over there and then go into town to buy supplies. We're running low at home!"

After listening, Liu Ergou considered for a moment before offering a solution.

"How about this, Brother Luo Kang? You take Liu Yunxi to the village committee, and I'll go treat Hui Lan. Once you're done with Liu Yunxi, you can go handle your own business. I'll head back as soon as I finish with her. How does that sound?"

At this, Luo Kang's eyes lit up, and he nodded repeatedly in agreement. For Luo Kang, nothing was more important than his son. As long as his son had enough to eat, any arrangement was fine. His son was his lifeblood.
